In the past few days my HTC Desire has started vibrating twice whenever a new facebook notification arrives. As this is very frequent, I find it incredibly annoying. It didn't used to do it so I wonder what has changed and how can I stop it happening?
View 3 RepliesI installed the update the Hangout today and ever since all my SMS messages vibrate in addition to my selected notification sound.
I have tried everything to turn this off. All the "Vibrate" check boxes are cleared and still it vibrates.
It does not vibrate for Hangouts messages only SMS. Yes, I know there is a separate setting for each message type. All of them have Vibrate unchecked.
I even tries restarting the phone, but that did not work.
everytime i go into the HTC HUB notifactions section I get a connection error, but all the other parts work.
I get the error "unable to connect to HTC sense server please try again later.
Was transfering photo from old phone to HTC Desire HD via Bluetooth and lost connection. I now have permanent bluetooth notification icon in notification bar say "null" wants to transfer file no bytes. Accept or decline. Selecting either does nothing. I assume the HTC no longer knows where "null" device is. Is there anyway to clear this notification without a factory reset.

No matter how many times I set the contact pictures on my contacts to the pictures I want (and in the list of linked contacts, it shows the correct pictures), the contact's main picture is their Facebook profile picture, and if they don't have one, then it's the generic Facebook blue head.
I tried to upload an image to Facebook using one of the 2 FB apps on my Desire S. When that failed i tried using the other app.
The 2nd attempt worked but I now have a permanent notification telling me that the 1st upload progress is at 0% & I can't get rid of it.
How often does mail, friendstream and facebook update? It seem that it only check the mail every hour and facebook every 3 hours, friendstream doesn't update unless I tell it to. Is there any way to speed these up in an option I haven't found yet?

I am a new HTC user and there is one thing that is bothering me about the software and that is the new text message notification. Is there a way for this notification to only say "new message" instead of saying who it is from and what the message says before the message is even opened from the home screen?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently brought out a contract with o2 for a htc one, got home set up all my notification sounds, I was getting sound for my facebook posts, but the next day I turned my phone on and they were coming through but no sound, if I get a notification on there my phone just vibrates but for other stuff i get the sound, if I get a message on fb I get a sound too, not sure why it has done this and I am not sure how to change it ....

Anyway, I know that when you get a new notification, a little icon appears at the top of your screen with the blue 'F' logo and a red star on, to show that it's unread. Anyway, I checked all my notifications then deleted them, but I still have a '1 F' icon at the top (without a red star) - even after deleting all my notifications again.
Everytime i click for notifications, an error message appears. "Cannot retrieve the notifications. Please try again later [601/Parser error:unexpected '-' at position 64.]"

I have tried deleting the facebook application and reinstalling it, but the 5F symbol is still there!!
It will go up in number and have a star next to it when there are new notifications for me to view, but it's really annoying me that it's there all the time and its wrong!

What make me really disappointed is when I press "Notification" in menu, its come out what I'm posting, not the posting that made from my friend. i have a problem with my arc handset. me and my girlfriend both have the arc with andriod 2.3.3. the problem is if someone writes on my partners wall on facebook she recieves a notification on the notification bar on the top of the phone, however mine does not. ive reinstalled facebook app on the phone and even reinstalled the whole phone from scratch. ive gone through all settings to make sure there all the same and im at my wites end.

I have noticed that recently I've been getting notifications for Facebook that popup/show up at the top of the screen below the notification bar (a la Apple's iOS). It pisses me off, as it'll happen when I'm in games (covering up 1/4 of the screen) and it'll even show up when I'm in Facebook!

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a facebook notification that shows up as seen, but not opened. So it does not have the red asterisk, but will not leave home screen. I cannot get it to go away.
Things I have tried:
-Soft reset
-Hard reset (pulling battery)
-Uninstalling Facebook via app world - made it go away
-Reinstalling Facebook via app world - made it come back
-As far as I can tell, it does not show up in either Messages or Facebook app
-Went to facebook website from laptop and open/cleared all notifications
-Went to mobile facebook website from phone and clicked on link that said "clear all notifications"
-Going into Messages, selecting today's date, then menu button, and "Mark Prior Opened"
-Going into Facebook app, notifications tab, selecting today's date, then menu button, and "Mark Prior Opened"
At this point I would be happy with understanding where the notifications that appear on your homescreen are stored and if I could maybe delete a cache file or something from windows when I have it plugged into my computer.
its been about 5 weeks.. my facebook notification on my facebook application are not receiving.i've tried deleting the facebook application and then re-installing it... and NOTHING WORKS!
View 4 Replies View Relatedi just got the new bb curve 2, and i absoloutely love it, but for some reason, when i get a facehbook notification it does its regular vib/ring mix, but then every 10-20 seconds it vibrates again and it continues until i check the message, ive been woken up way too many times in the past 2 days because of this... does anyone know how to solve it?
