My iPhone 5 sends and receives text iMessages just fine, but I cannot send any pictures. Â
Whenever I try to send a picture, iMessage indicates at first that the picture has been "delivered". Then, about 10 seconds later, it changes the status to "not sent". The picture never goes through.  I can send the picture as an MMS/Text, just not as an iMessage.Â
I've tried resetting my carrier/network settings, turning off/on iMessage, rebooting the phone multiple times, removing the SIM card and everything else I can think of without any success.
My iMessage will not send to one specific contact, she cannot send to me either, but we can iMessage all our other contacts

I used to be able to iMessage my mother on her iPhone on both my iPhone and my mac. All of a sudden, these messages are not going through. I am able to send iMessages to other contacts on both devices. I have restarted my phone, reset the network settings and even deleted the contact, but it still only sends messages to her as SMS.
View 3 Replies View Relatedmy iPhone will receive iMessages normally if they are just text. However, when someone sends me a picture iMessage it will only send to my iPad, which is connected through my apple account.
View 1 Replies View Relatedsince updating 7.1.1 imessage is not able to send pictures. Text message is not a problem, receiving pictures is working. Checked several hints but nothimg worked. Is this a bug in 7.1.1?

I am using an iphone 5s. lately, people havent been able to send me pictures over imessage. they have said it will say it sent, but then will have the message "not delivered". i can send pictures fine, and they will receive them. why cant i receive them in return?
View 1 Replies View RelatedLast weekend I noticed that I was unable to send pictures in messages to individuals or groups. The picture would initially show it was delivered as an iMessage then after a few seconds would show the Not Delivered message. The only way I can currently send an image in a message is as a text.I have tried all the suggestions including wiping the phone and restoring it with no luck.

Since Apple released iMessage my friend and I have been iMessaging. As of yesterday, I can still send my friend iMessages as usual, but she can only send iMessages to my email (I have "Receive at" set to my phone number and email, Caller ID set to my phone number). If she tries to send an iMessage to my phone number, as she did before, it will only send as a Text. All of my other iPhone contacts can still send iMessages to my phone number. We've each tried rebooting and switching iMessage on and off (we both have iPhone 4, IOS 5.1.1) without any luck. I realise that iMessage is still technically working with her sending to my email, but we just don't understand why sending to my phone number has suddenly stopped working.

Even before the 'big crash' my daughters BBM didn't work. I have tried all the resets there are even uninstalled it, re-installed it etc. When I first got the phone 18 months ago it worked fine. Now wont send, wont receive, can't see anyone's pictures in the menu's. Got wi-fi, got credit, on Curve 8520
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I send a picture through iMessage, sometimes it takes up to 3-4 minutes to send. Sometimes when I text using MMS/iMessage, it takes a minute or so for the sending bar to make the swoosh noise. Kind of weird it takes that long to send a message, and it's not all the time. Is this normal? Any help would be great.

I'd like to send texts to my friend who owns an iPhone, but not on iMessage.(That friend owns an iPhone, but can't connect on 3G. So she gets my texts only when she can connect on wi-fi...)

I want to know how to disable iMessage for one contact. My friend lost her iPhone and now owns a Nokia, though her number is still the same. She does not receive iMessages that I send her, and I don't know how to disable iMessage for one contact only.

My iPhone has suddenly stopped sending iMessages but only to my husband. It will send iMessages to all my other contacts with iPhones but when I try to message my husband it seems to send as SMS with no option. I used to be able to send him iMessages. How can I turn it back on? I have tried logging out and back in again with my Apple ID and also tried rebooting iPhone but it's still not working.

turned off data roaming.  Only contacted one iphone user by text whilst off wifi. So his messages went and came back by standard SMS text message. Now I'm home, back on 3G wifi etc, iMessage is working fine, except this one contact which my phone now insists on using text SMS only. I can not get him back on iMessage no matter what I do! His iPhone hasn't changed but also insists on sending texts to me as SMS only! Yet all worked fine before I went away!

Now she has returned to the US, but my phone continues to send her SMS Text Messages. I tried deleting the entire conversation, as well as turning iMessage off and back on in Settings, but no matter what I do my messages to her continue to be SMS.Â

sending pictures through iMessage? is this a common error?
Info:

Ok, so it started like two days ago. I tried to send a picture through iMessage and it didn't show, although it did send. Whenever someone sends me a picture it shows for a second and it turns into an empty chat bubble like this:
I want to get my pictures to show again!!

When I go to send a picture on iMessage it will say "Delivered" and then a few seconds later the red alert pops up saying that the message failed to deliver. I've asked people if they've received my pictures and they say no. The pictures will only send as a text message. The rest of my iMessage messages work just fine though. What's going on?

I am currently being harassed, and threats to my life are sent to me daily through iMessage, should I choose to enable it.
I pay each month a fee to AT&T to block that number from calling and texting me, but they have an open conduit to make my life ****, via iMessage. I have had this problem for a year now, and two police reports have done nothing to stop this harassment.
Why should I have to disable a feature like iMessage, or switch numbers yet again, just for peace of mind? Wouldn't it be a basic feature/service/capability that should be included, or at least thought about well in advance of a release of such a feature?
Why has no one thought about being able to block a contact from messaging another via iMessage?

My iMessage won't work with a specific contact. It says, "Turn off airplane mode or use wi-fi to send and receive messages". I can send and receive messaged from other people but not one particular contact. We are both connected to the wifi.

why my iphone4 will only sometimes send an imessage to my wifes iphone ? Her iphone does the same with mine. Is it something to do with network coverage ?

i recently got an iPhone 5s running iOS 7.1.2 for my birthday. I'm having no trouble sending/receiving texts from non-Apple devices, however when I try and send a text message to a friend with an iPhone (running IOS7) it sends through iMessage. I hate iMessage. I don't want it. I just want to send an SMS to my friends... What's wrong with that?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIt doesn't say it's not delivered right away but a minute after it was sent. I don't use any other devices for iMessage. I was in a group chat with two other people and they were having the same problem. I've tried resetting my network settings then I reset all settings and it didn't work. I also tried turning off iMessage for a while and it didn't work. What's up with this?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI updated my iphone 4s to ios 5.1 last night and then today when I texted someone else with an iPhone using iMessage, my contact came up as my Apple ID email on their phone instead of my name that was associated with my phone number. This obviously caused a lot of confusion because my email isn't my name and the person I texted didn't know who the message was from. The message looks completely normal on my phone and their contact came up fine but mine didn't work on theirs. I also determined it was my phone that was the problem because I texted another person with an iPhone and the same exact thing happened again. I checked to see if anyone else had this problem and I couldn't find any postings on the Apple forum. So if you are having the same problem and/or know how to fix it,

I am currently on my second iPhone 4s after losing my first one. I have encountered a problem where my contacts which also have an iPhone, thus receiving iMessages are seeing my contact name as my email address. How do I change this in the settings? I have tried to manually change it but even if I switch to the number option there seems to be no change.
