IPhone 5 :: Can't Send Pictures Through IMessage To Individuals Or Groups
Jun 3, 2014
Last weekend I noticed that I was unable to send pictures in messages to individuals or groups. The picture would initially show it was delivered as an iMessage then after a few seconds would show the Not Delivered message. The only way I can currently send an image in a message is as a text.I have tried all the suggestions including wiping the phone and restoring it with no luck.
My iPhone 5 sends and receives text iMessages just fine, but I cannot send any pictures. Â
Whenever I try to send a picture, iMessage indicates at first that the picture has been "delivered". Then, about 10 seconds later, it changes the status to "not sent". The picture never goes through.  I can send the picture as an MMS/Text, just not as an iMessage.Â
I've tried resetting my carrier/network settings, turning off/on iMessage, rebooting the phone multiple times, removing the SIM card and everything else I can think of without any success.
my iPhone will receive iMessages normally if they are just text. However, when someone sends me a picture iMessage it will only send to my iPad, which is connected through my apple account.
since updating 7.1.1 imessage is not able to send pictures. Text message is not a problem, receiving pictures is working. Checked several hints but nothimg worked. Is this a bug in 7.1.1?
I am using an iphone 5s. lately, people havent been able to send me pictures over imessage. they have said it will say it sent, but then will have the message "not delivered". i can send pictures fine, and they will receive them. why cant i receive them in return?
It seems pretty definitive that on the iPhone one cannot add to a contact group or mail to a group. I must admit that I was hoping that the recent OS update would deal with this but it hasn't. My question to the experts out there is why Apple- normally so intuitive- has not thought of this? It is a major operational weakness of the iPhone.
When I send a picture through iMessage, sometimes it takes up to 3-4 minutes to send. Sometimes when I text using MMS/iMessage, it takes a minute or so for the sending bar to make the swoosh noise. Kind of weird it takes that long to send a message, and it's not all the time. Is this normal? Any help would be great.
I have a verizon lg g3 using either google messenger or textra and my issue is that during a group text my message that I send isn't received by my group until about 30 second after it shows that its sent on my phone.
I've had this issue when i was unrooted and now while i'm rooted with cyanogenmod and jasmine rom.
I've several problems with bbm groups. Though I can get into a group and read everything, it's impossible for me to send anything. I have the latest version of BBM.
When I try to send to a Handcent group that I create, the group will not appear in the "To:" field. This pretty much nixes any reason I have for using Handcent.
Everything was fine when I had the X. X2, not so great. And I have auto-updating set.

Ok, so it started like two days ago. I tried to send a picture through iMessage and it didn't show, although it did send. Whenever someone sends me a picture it shows for a second and it turns into an empty chat bubble like this:
When I go to send a picture on iMessage it will say "Delivered" and then a few seconds later the red alert pops up saying that the message failed to deliver. I've asked people if they've received my pictures and they say no. The pictures will only send as a text message. The rest of my iMessage messages work just fine though. What's going on?
why my iphone4 will only sometimes send an imessage to my wifes iphone ? Her iphone does the same with mine. Is it something to do with network coverage ?
i recently got an iPhone 5s running iOS 7.1.2 for my birthday. I'm having no trouble sending/receiving texts from non-Apple devices, however when I try and send a text message to a friend with an iPhone (running IOS7) it sends through iMessage. I hate iMessage. I don't want it. I just want to send an SMS to my friends... What's wrong with that?
After the ICS update my email groups won't function. When i type in the group name it doesn't appear as an option for me to select. This is incredibly frustrating. What's more, the only way you can use the group is by navigating to contacts, scrolling over to groups, then pushing the group, then clicking "send email" this would be fine if i always selected the group before sending the email, but my primary use case is taking a picture and sending it to a distribution group (pictures of my kid sent to grandparents and family every day). When I take the picture then click the button to attach it to an email, then try to type in the group name, it doesn't appear.
It doesn't say it's not delivered right away but a minute after it was sent. I don't use any other devices for iMessage. I was in a group chat with two other people and they were having the same problem. I've tried resetting my network settings then I reset all settings and it didn't work. I also tried turning off iMessage for a while and it didn't work. What's up with this?
I try to send an imessage from my Iphone4s to my brother's Ipad, but i couldn't send it! I did use his apple account to send imessage to him but it didn't work.
I am exchanging some messages with friends and family that live in Europe. The problem is, occassionaly, the iPhone will give up as sending as an iMessage and then send as a text. As a result, I am being charged for sending an international message, when I would rather just write an email or skype (if iMessage wasnt going to do its job). Is there anyway to set strictly iMessage to certain contacts?
I made a birthday movie in iMovie, for a friend - but I cant send it to her!I dont want to send it as email, FB, Twitter, I want to send it as a iMessage. On my Nokia it was sooo easy to transfer files, make folders for work files, send any file the way I want to and so on.I have used Mac since the late 80s, but I still cant find out how to send it!(My apple heart bleeds when I have to say, iPhone is not working well as a phone, or a help at work like the Nokia did, it is just a fun, fun, toy, as long as I dont want to make a movie on my MacBook Pro and send it on my iPhone...).
My iPhone 5 is about to go in the garbage, and it's only a year old.
For months I've been dealing with being unable to send pictures to contacts by iMessage. Now in the last week I cannot send by MMS either.
I also cannot send on my iPad.Â
I've read through numerous forum postings and let me assure you that absolutely nothing has worked. Here is what I can remember doing so far, but to be honest I've been troubleshooting on my own for a while so I am probably forgetting things. Restore iPhone Troubleshooting on this blog: [URL] ..... Reset network settings. Change iCloud and AppleID password. Remove AppleID from iMessage, use only phone number. Double-check that MMS is turned on. Double-check that numbers aren't blocked. Double-check that it isn't on the recipient end. Considering it's all of my contacts and they can send everything to me just fine it is obviously not their fault. Contact service provider, they say it's an issue with AppleClear out iPhone memory, I have almost 8GB of free space. Update to latest iOS. Tried sending on WiFi and LTE, doesn't work on either ...
This has only happened in the last week. Prior to this I had no problems and don't believe I have made any changes. I have taken the suggestion to reset my network settings but that does not seem to work with the problem. I can send them using regular text message and I can send SMS with iMessage, just no photos. I get a not delivered message each time. Â
