Aug 19, 2014I recently moved away from home for school and where I moved to I'm roaming constantly. My phone started not receiving or sending texts to people without iMessage. I turned my iMessage off to try to send myself a text and make the others come through and now my iMessage won't activate. I can only receive phone calls now. I've tried everything to fix it. Turned my phone off and on, reset all my settings. Nothing works.

Jun 7, 2012I cannot send or receive texts at home because there is insufficient service at my house so I use iMessage over wifi. The issue is that when I am on wifi and out of service the phone will not send iMessages or texts over wifi unless the phone is in Airplane mode. Does anyone know how to make wifi the default iMessage so that I can send iMessages over wifi without going to Airplane mode? It tries to send them but it acts as if there is no service when I have full wifi and as soon as I switch to Airplane mode and keep wifi connected, all messages send fine.

Sometimes when I text using MMS/iMessage, it takes a minute or so for the sending bar to make the swoosh noise. Kind of weird it takes that long to send a message, and it's not all the time. Apr 7, 2012i have noticed that after switching to ios 5.1 my phone has been acting funny. for example: when i am messaging other iphone users with iMessage, it keeps switching from iMessage to regular text every 2 or 3 messages. at first i thought it was the other person since i am normally within my works wifi network and at my home wifi network, but it seems that this problem only occurs to other people when imessaging with me and not with anyone else. and this problem occurs to me while imessaging everyone, so i have come to the conclusion that the problem must be my phone. i have noticed this problem to occur since updating to ios 5.1. has anyone else experienced this problem? what can i do? i am 2 steps shy of reinstalling my phone.

For months I've been dealing with being unable to send pictures to contacts by iMessage. Now in the last week I cannot send by MMS either.
I also cannot send on my iPad.Â
I've read through numerous forum postings and let me assure you that absolutely nothing has worked. Here is what I can remember doing so far, but to be honest I've been troubleshooting on my own for a while so I am probably forgetting things. Restore iPhone Troubleshooting on this blog: [URL] ..... Reset network settings. Change iCloud and AppleID password. Remove AppleID from iMessage, use only phone number. Double-check that MMS is turned on. Double-check that numbers aren't blocked. Double-check that it isn't on the recipient end. Considering it's all of my contacts and they can send everything to me just fine it is obviously not their fault. Contact service provider, they say it's an issue with AppleClear out iPhone memory, I have almost 8GB of free space. Update to latest iOS. Tried sending on WiFi and LTE, doesn't work on either ...

Whenever I try to send a picture, iMessage indicates at first that the picture has been "delivered". Then, about 10 seconds later, it changes the status to "not sent". The picture never goes through.  I can send the picture as an MMS/Text, just not as an iMessage.Â
I've tried resetting my carrier/network settings, turning off/on iMessage, rebooting the phone multiple times, removing the SIM card and everything else I can think of without any success.
