On last month I changed my iphone 4 to 4S, after the change I noticed that I can't receive imessages using my phone number, only my apple id was there at "Receive at" field. What should I do to solve this? How can I put my phone number back there? This is happening with Facetime too. But on Facetime the phone number has a "Verifying" status.
When I send iMessages, it just appears from my email address, not from my phone number. When, I go to settings > messages, I can only "Receive At" xxxx @ email .com as well, there is no option to add a phone number. How can I make myself available to be "reached for messages" at my phone number instead of (or, in addition to) my e-mail? I also have an iPad. iPhone is running 5.1.
My iPhone 5s won't receive any calls or texts, and I cannot connect to iMessage with my phone number. I recently got my phone last night and I don't know why it's not letting me recieve any calls or texts and not letting me connect to iMessage wiht my phone number.
Whenever I send a text to someone on my iPhone, they say they receive it from my email, not my number. I looked at Messages in the settings and when it showed my number (above my email) it said verifying. I also looked at FaceTime in the settings and when it showed my number it said error. How do I make it so people receive my texts from my number?
i've got 2 Phones, 1 company and 1 private phone - means 2 different Numbers. I've now merged the private phone number now into the company Sim Card, so I've got only 1 phone now instead of 2. The main number is now the company number, but i wanna keep my OLD private number with iMessage, etc.Â
After returning from holiday, my imessage no longer works unless it is through email, which I dont like. I have tried loads of options and nothing has worked.
I registered the iMessage once with my old number on different country and now i came back to my own country and wanted to change my number but its unable for me to change it ! i can only change my Email addresses ! Is there any way to change it without reseting my network setting !?
After upgrading to iOS 5.1 , my imessage have stopped showing my phone number and shows my email address instead. It is NOT verifying my phone number. Does anyone know how can I get the iphone to show my phone number?
I talk to someone who sends me imessages to my phone number from their phone, and also from their ipad to my email. Both phone number and email are under the same contact. But the mesages go into 2 different threads. Id like to combine them since being under the same contact they show up exactly the same in the messages list.. so i cant tell if im messaging the ipad or the phone..
ideally id like to write a message to that contact and it would go to both their ipad and iphone.
My wife and I both have iPhones and using iOS 5.1.1 We text routinely throughout the day. I randomly recieve her texts in two different threads, when I go to the top of the thread and click "Contact>" one of them highlights her phone number as the source and the other highlights her email address as the source. On her phone it all appears as a single thread with me, but when I send a text to her it I have to send it in both threads to make sure she gets it, she will only get one of them and I have no way of knowing which one she will get at any given time. Does anyone know why it switched back and forth? It isn't tied to WiFi vs 4g as far as we can tell, we both get the normal blue vs green to indicate SMS vs iMessage.
In case that was confusing, here's an example. If she sends me a text I always get it in one of the two threads, no issue. If I respond to something she just texted me in the same thread, she gets it. Again, no problem. If I send her a text a few hours later in only one of the two threads, she may or may not receive it. To make sure she gets it I send it in both, she only gets it once, and if she responds I know which one her phone is currently on.
How do u change the registered phone number on iMessage on iPhone? It still shows old number even after a reset and the number is grayed out. I have waited for the change to happen (imessage off), but it still didn't change. I pulled the sim out and waited, but still no change. I am using an iphone 4s and OS 5.1.
I have an iPhone 4S, and just bought a new Android phone.A fair chunk of my family uses iPhones, iPads, and iPods, so I was planning on keeping the iPhone for iMessage and Facetime. However, my texts from said family (at least the ones using iPhones) are being sent as iMessages to the iPhone, instead of my new phone.I'm wondering if there is a way to disable iMessage/FaceTime on my iPhone for the phone number, but leave it active for the email addresses. or any other ways to achieve what I'm trying to do.?
My iMessage shows up as my email address and not my phone number. When I got to settings messages it has my number but you can't change it. The email address is highlighted and number is grey. how do you change it
I recently upgraded my iphone 4 for an iphone 6 and we decide to let my niece have the old iphone 4 with our account set up so that she can have the apps that we have as well. Now, I am able to deactivate iMessage but I don't want her to "accidentally" turn it on and I noticed that if she were to do it she could select my phone number and start receiving iMessages addressed to my phone number. Is there a way to completely delete/remove my phone number only from that iphone?
I can not activate iMessage and FaceTime over PhoneNumber waiting for activation after 24 hours to yesterday i have become a ams with reg-resp. and numbers
Hi everyone. Hoping for some help with a bizarre issue. I switched from an iphone 3gs to an android a few months ago, but when some (not all) friends w/ iphone's text me, it tries to send it as an imessage from their phones. I don't receive the texts for hours at a time. Is there something I can do to prevent this? Or is on their end? This has even happened with people who I have exchanged numbers with well after I made the switch from iphone to android which I find particularly weird.
Since Apple released iMessage my friend and I have been iMessaging. As of yesterday, I can still send my friend iMessages as usual, but she can only send iMessages to my email (I have "Receive at" set to my phone number and email, Caller ID set to my phone number). If she tries to send an iMessage to my phone number, as she did before, it will only send as a Text. All of my other iPhone contacts can still send iMessages to my phone number. We've each tried rebooting and switching iMessage on and off (we both have iPhone 4, IOS 5.1.1) without any luck. I realise that iMessage is still technically working with her sending to my email, but we just don't understand why sending to my phone number has suddenly stopped working.
Recently my phone began using my email address to send all my test through imessage rather than my phone number. So if I send a tesxt to my son my wife receives the text message as an e mail. How can I fix this?
phone 1 - iPhone 5s  iOS 7.1.2  iCould = Apple ID 1  iMessage = Apple ID 1
phone 2 - iPhone 5Â Â Â iOS 7.1.2Â Â Â iCould = Apple ID 1Â Â iMessage = Apple ID 2
PROBLEM
I reseted password for Apple ID 1
after password reset, phone 1 and phone 2 can not send iMessage to each other's phone numbers (goes as text message). Can send iMessage it to each others email address and all other phone numbers/email addressesÂ
SOLUTIONS TRIED
- reactive iMessage with toggle switch
- network settings reset
- deleting our all old messages
- restart phone at various steps aboveÂ
OBSERVATIONS
I do see phone number under Settings | Messages | Send & Receive | YOU CAN BE REACHED.... on both phones selected,
however, it is grayed out unlike email addresses below
I'm currently out of the country and have data services turned off. Had to redo settings. iMessage for phone number is now unverified and "waiting to be activated". It works with my email, but not my phone number, which is what most people have. Is there a way to verify phone number when the phone data is turned off? Or can I only receive via my email address until I am back in the US
