When I go to send a picture on iMessage it will say "Delivered" and then a few seconds later the red alert pops up saying that the message failed to deliver. I've asked people if they've received my pictures and they say no. The pictures will only send as a text message. The rest of my iMessage messages work just fine though. What's going on?

View 3 Replies View Relatedi loaded an app called "CLEAN SWEEP, and " Whats APP".. does any one of these apps change some properties that are hard to find that now makes any of my pictures i download from my messaging app, or camera go straight to "MY FILES" instead of showing in MY GALLERY like they used to do. I have deleted the old download folder to see if it wold start a new one , and it did, but still is not showing up in my gallery, just my files. the only pics showing up in my gallery are the ones on my sd card.

Ok, so it started like two days ago. I tried to send a picture through iMessage and it didn't show, although it did send. Whenever someone sends me a picture it shows for a second and it turns into an empty chat bubble like this:

My iPhone 5 sends and receives text iMessages just fine, but I cannot send any pictures. Â
Whenever I try to send a picture, iMessage indicates at first that the picture has been "delivered". Then, about 10 seconds later, it changes the status to "not sent". The picture never goes through.  I can send the picture as an MMS/Text, just not as an iMessage.Â
I've tried resetting my carrier/network settings, turning off/on iMessage, rebooting the phone multiple times, removing the SIM card and everything else I can think of without any success.
I cannot send pictures using iMessage or MMS to just 1 contact.Â
Have tried all sorts to resolve but no joy!

my iPhone will receive iMessages normally if they are just text. However, when someone sends me a picture iMessage it will only send to my iPad, which is connected through my apple account.

I was in a group chat with two other people and they were having the same problem. I've tried resetting my network settings then I reset all settings and it didn't work. I also tried turning off iMessage for a while and it didn't work. What's up with this?

when I send a picture message to someone with an iPhone 4s who doesn't have wi fi on, the message goes as a text message. This is fine for normal text messages but pictures are expensive to send. i have noticed that after switching to ios 5.1 my phone has been acting funny. for example: when i am messaging other iphone users with iMessage, it keeps switching from iMessage to regular text every 2 or 3 messages. at first i thought it was the other person since i am normally within my works wifi network and at my home wifi network, but it seems that this problem only occurs to other people when imessaging with me and not with anyone else. and this problem occurs to me while imessaging everyone, so i have come to the conclusion that the problem must be my phone. i have noticed this problem to occur since updating to ios 5.1. has anyone else experienced this problem? what can i do? i am 2 steps shy of reinstalling my phone.

I went onto my App Store and noticed I had an update for Messenger. I tried to update it but when I tried to update the app it just gave me that buffering circle for multiple minutes. I thought something was wrong with my Wi-Fi but nothing was wrong with that either i contacted my internet supplier and they sent me a new signal and everything. Still nothing, I went to my friend's house and tried updating my apps there, nothing happened still. It just tells me "Waiting" When I exit out the App Store to check on the progress of the apps that are suppose to be downloading. They didn't have any progress at all, I tried reseting my phone and nothing happened still! I then signed out of my Apple ID to see if that would resolve the problem. Still nothing. Now today Instagram has a new update, I tried updating that thinking that only Messenger was having a flaw with updating, Instagram wouldn't update either.
