Last night, I realized that the keyboard lights and the two light between the home botton do not light up. (I am sure they were working when i first got it)I did is to update it for 4.0.2.a.0.42 to 4.0.2.a.0.58, but i am not sure did the lights when out because of the update.

My issue is this: I have read several articles where it explains in full how to make keyboard shortcuts (for like your address for example) and I have followed the instructions to a "T". It doesn't work. I go into settings->Language & Input->Personal Dictionary->English(Canada){I've also tried it using the US setting}->add->type a word->shortcut. When I then go and try to use my shortcut in email, text or notepad, nothing works!

View 2 Replies View RelatedI initially tred to update my phone from Win XP and it failed with error - "Unable to install or start phone software update components". I then retried from Mac and it was updated successfully. However, after update hard keyboard has stopped working with apps.
I have tried to repair it from my XP (since in Mac Bridge I did not find the option for repair) and it failed again with the above error.
I have got a Blackberry Torch 9800 and the screen just wont work. It used to, but then it got worse and worse, and now the screen just wont work, the rest of the phone works but you cant see anything. When the screen did work if I slide up the screen then it would go all weird. When I press the unlock button, the lights come on like it works, but the screen wont?

When I plug it in the red notification light blinks for a while, then the charging logo appears on the screen for a short time and during that time red is light constantly lid, as it was supposed to, however then the screen goes black again and the light starts blinking.
I found a solution on YouTube which suggested me to tape power button firmly so it's always pushed and then charge it for an hour. I did exactly the same thing, nothing changed.
It's been more than 2 hours and my phone is still charging with the same cycle (blinking red light, then charging logo, then blinking again). I wonder what happened to my phone and what can I do now?
I realized that with using charging dock I can see a glimpse of Xperia and Sony logo but then they vanish. The phone seems to be restarting itself while I use the dock.
All of a sudden the right side of the keyboard won't work. I have tried taking the battery out while it is on to reset and no luck.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Curve 8900 is less than 6 months old, and suddenly the keyboad will not work, so I cannot make/receive calls, and although the trackball works, it will not "click" to unlock it. Seems to be an intermittent fault. As I own the Blackberry (it is not bought through a service provider), I tried to contact Blackberry customer services UK, who seem to be reluctant to deal with consumers. My service provder, O2 were much more helpful. How can I get a replacement/repair under warranty, or fix the problem?

I found out after several trials (don't ask me how many) that if I slided open and closed 2 times and then I press twice the "alt" button the keyboard starts working. Also the side button that I had for the camera is not working. Digital keyboard works fine. When the keyboard does not work, the outside keys (call, back, BB, touch pad, hang up) do not work either..
