When the phone screen is locked, after a few minutes or hours in my pocket, the screen will totally be black like it is turned off yet the keys will light up if the unlock button is pressed and therefore can not do anything.
my very own xperia active get a scratch on its screen. and it new, its 2 weeks after i brought it. Is there any way to replace the front cover on its screen.
Why this is happening right now but my phone won't charge. When I plug it in the red notification light blinks for a while, then the charging logo appears on the screen for a short time and during that time red is light constantly lid, as it was supposed to, however then the screen goes black again and the light starts blinking.
I found a solution on YouTube which suggested me to tape power button firmly so it's always pushed and then charge it for an hour. I did exactly the same thing, nothing changed.
It's been more than 2 hours and my phone is still charging with the same cycle (blinking red light, then charging logo, then blinking again). I wonder what happened to my phone and what can I do now?
I realized that with using charging dock I can see a glimpse of Xperia and Sony logo but then they vanish. The phone seems to be restarting itself while I use the dock.
My Xperia Active is barely 3 weeks old, running Android version: 2.3.4 and latest build: 4.0.2.A.0.62. My screen brightness is kept at maximum, I have never dropped this phone or abused it and rest of it's functions are running fine. Barely a week in, it seemed to have a faintly flickering screen which I thought might have just been my eyes going. This week, the flickering has been replaced by what I would describe as "breathing" - screen brightness goes from max brightness (100%) to gradual dimness (about 78% brightness) to max brightness again - without me touching anything nor am I running out of power. This happens once in a while throught the day, not constantly. Rather alarming as I am getting very attached to this little phone.
I have been checking the SE forums since the 1st week of ownership, the flickering screen problem has been reported occuring to other SE phone models, including the Mini on which the Active has been based. I have wiped all data from my phone and gave it back to the seller for their tech to figure out. My last option if unrepairable, is to ask the seller to replace the unit. what causes the screen brightness to dim then brighten by itself (despite the latest build and software).
I have an app, Activity Classifier, that uses the handset accelerometers to provide information on activities and total exercise. It automates exercise tracking, classifies activities by type and quantifies aerobic intensity. Live data streamed from an Xperia Arc using the app is displayed in a blog. While it is possible to use on the Active it is unfortunately more difficult on the Active than the Arc because the Active accelerometers have a fault that is hard to get around. The problem is that the accelerometers sometimes take quite a while to start sampling when either started or the sampling frequency is changed.Occasionally it can take longer than 90 seconds. The problem can be seen with the app Accelerometer Frequency. Switch between sampling frequencies and notice that sometimes it switches instantly and sometimes it doesn't. To minimise battery consumption Activity Classifier acquires data from the accelerometers for 6 seconds out of every 30. If no other app is using the accelerometers they will start and stop every sampling period. On the Active they frequently don't start and the app detects a faulty accelerometer. The app has an option to keep accelerometers on and if this is selected it will work OK but battery consumption goes up a lot. The Active comes with a pedometer app called Walkmate. I can see from the Accelerometer Frequency app that Walkmate keeps the acclerometers running at 50 Hz and running Walkmate at the same time as Activity Classifier will make Activity Classifier work OK as well. Walkmate seems pretty power efficient and uses less than half the power of the market leading pedometer app Accupedo, run in power balanced mode, but it counts a different number of steps.
I wanted to know if there are other methods of waking up screen by not using the power button. I'm afraid that it would damage the power button due to constant pressing. It would be great I think to use the camera button since it is not being used since I just tap the screen to take photos.
I've been using xperia active for 6 months now and it is a very nice phone, but one day the touch screen has become unresponsive.Everytime when I want to click an icon on the screen or type on the on-screen keyboard I would have to tap many times and it is very frustrating.

yesterday out of the blue the display on my active stopped working. i connected it to the pc and did a reset/reinstalled the firmware but still no display.i can play music using the original headphones and the headset controls and the home/menu/back buttons light up when i press the unlock key but that's about it.oh yes and i think i managed to unlock the screen even though it was totally back as i could could play/pause music and skip tracks using the screen controls (pressing where i guessed the music controls were).
I bought my Xperia active last Monday. But last Sunday, I noticed that the screen flickers. I usually use the phone with the brightness setting set to the lowest and that makes the screen flickering more visible. And also I am kinda new in using Android phones and Sony Ericsson phones, so I am no expert in manipulating this device.
I received my phone 5 days ago and it was working no problem until yesterday when i was turning off wifi as didn't need it and screen went white and phone turned off and now won't turn back on, the light for charging doesn't even come on. Is the phone dead ?
I keep finding my phone will do random things in my pocket when out and its really frustrating i had tried changing lots of settings todo with the screen as i thought it was when i got a notification it would wake the phone and my leg would simulate screen presses.
That isnt the case however. I have narrowd it down to when i get in my car and the bluetooth connects to my car radio it makes the touch screen active, the screen does not light up but if you touch it as it connects it will wake the phone.
i am having neo v. which is running on latest 2.3.4 build 4.0.2.a.0.62 , while tring to configure the corporate mail using exchange active sync , i am getting error "phone does not support required security feature".My echange server(2007) have 10 min screen lock , 5 digit pin and 10 password attempt as secuiry policy. which my neo v not able to do it.it look like the phone does not support device administration which is required for server to enforce security on phone. when i tried to configure my mail in other phone which is also running in 2.3.4(Samsung and dell xcd with default email client) , i am able to do without any problem.
When I woke up this morning my phone was turned off so I try to turn it on by holding the power button, it only flashes the LED (red) 3 times between short pauses, no vibrations then stays turned off.Next, I tried to plug the charger in then holding the power button. still the same symptoms as above.Lastly, I tried plugging the charger / connector to my laptop then plugging the phone in. When I did that, the red LED shows 1 blink on intervals as opposed from the 3 blinks above.I know I still have my warranty but I want at least try and fix it because I don't like going out on weekends (the days of the week where I get to rest) so I'd rather try a fix here at home.
my droid 2 screen will not come on anymore. Keyboard lights up when on but no screen. is there anything that I can do. I have tried everything available in other forums such as taking out the battery and waiting 60 seconds.
The screen isn't working. The lights on the keyboard work and the notification light flashes but nothing is happening on the screen. Tried charging and taking the battery out and putting back in bit hasn't worked. It has been working fine up until now.
So I've been having this problem since yesterday where the screen is locked and my phone is charging and every two minutes the screen will light up and vibrate once. I thought maybe it was because I had a notification but I checked all of my apps and none of them have any Notifications. I have restarted the device twice and it hasn't changed anything. The same thing also happens when my phone isn't charging. any way besides doing a factory restore?
The screen goes black after the backlight comes on but the light does not return. Everything is functioning like I get notifications, I receive calls and bbm's but the thing is I can't check them because the screen is black. There is static as well at the top but it it is black and blurry, sometimes I could see the name of the service provider as well as the battery icon. What would work sometimes is if I do a battery pull but that is rare. Also if I lock the screen then wait a while and then press any button between the end call and receive it would come back on. But that is becoming rare as well. The system on the phone is full functional but its the screen that stays black.Sometimes if I'm lucky it would go away and I would be able to use the screen. But when that happens I would have to constantly be pressing a button to keep the phone active so it does not go on backlight setting from inactivity. U can imagine how annoying that is huh?
I have got a Blackberry Torch 9800 and the screen just wont work. It used to, but then it got worse and worse, and now the screen just wont work, the rest of the phone works but you cant see anything. When the screen did work if I slide up the screen then it would go all weird. When I press the unlock button, the lights come on like it works, but the screen wont?
Is there a setting you can change so the screen lights up when notifications are received? At the moment my screen stays off and I get a sound or vibration if the phone is on silent.
I bought my iphone 4s in Miami, about a month ago. My phone screen lights turn on and pays for itself by now. Is this normal? Is there a solution?,I am now in my country
My defy screen just lights up then goes off after about 10 seconds, as if it is waking up to recieve a message/txt/call but then realises nothing incoming and goes back to sleep?
so recently my ray suddenly lights up even when not in use, this will go on for about a minute & i can't stop it,first it'll light up then turns off after 3-5 secs it'll light up again..
my Nokia 6131 has a strange problem: there are no lights at all (screens and keypad), the main screen does not show any view, but an external screen works good..
I have a BB 8100 (Pearl) and it will not boot only flashes red LED 3 times, pauses and flashes 2 more times. When I connect it to a PC, the computer doesn't see my device at all (yes, the USB port works--I back up regularly and can charge the battery). I've tried to connect with Desktop manager, Crack Mem, App Loader nothing seems to detect the device. I've been reading through posts for the last 2 days and can't seem to find any other solutions. So, if anyone out there has any other suggestions, please let me know!
After a phone call my screen went dark and I have removed the battery, and replaced it. Then did the same thing again and removed the sim card. Nothing works. I've tried plugging it in and removing the battery. The light on the keys are on and I can place and receive calls but No Screen.
