Jul 6, 2011I have noticed that if the usb cable is connected when the E7 keyboard is locked, the phone does not charge. Is this a bug or an "undocumented feature"?

Feb 7, 2012I have a E52 and he lights al day up,the 2 volume buttons on the side of the phone,the 2 selection buttons and the 2 phone buttons(red&green),and the screen is on you see the light on the side of the screen,he is stil black but you can see he is turned on).The phone is working normal and down everything you ask,but the batteries is empty after 3 day's because the light is always on.
There is no message or missed call,so i don't see what the problem is.When you push a button the phone gets complete out and after a few minutes the light is there.

Sep 28, 2011I've bought this phone regardless of those bad things that has been mentioned in those threads, because I want it and it relatively cheap anyway.My E6 is almost bug free, yes almost.
1. After unboxing, I update the firmware to v22.
2. Quickly do "Delete Data and Restore".
3. Installing Remind Me.
4. Done.
I did not experienced the self restart, the disfunctional pick call after screen lock, etc. My battery also lasted more than one day, it is almost 1.5 day now with 2 bar left in heavy usage (wifi, bluetooth, angry birds, fruit ninja, messaging, some calls).So, what bugs left?
1. The keypad lights is turned off when the display brightnes is less than the mid point of the slider.
2. The notification lights in the middle of dpad is still barely visible even when I use the Remind Me, faulty design in my opinion.
3. The mail widget sometimes did not update the mails that displayed, even though the mail client is already showing the new mails. I need to remove then add the widget again to fix it or restart the phone..

Apr 11, 2011I have Nokia E72 and I have problem with USB chargin. Now the phone is with low battery and the Power Saving mode is automatic activated. I plug USB on phone and PC (Win7), charging started, and after few seconds, charging stops. I try to restart phone, PC and plung and unplug UBS, but the problem still exist. Nov 18, 2012so i changed the battery on my e7-00 the other day, after following a tutorial on Internet. i changed it with no problems, reassembled, and then turned the phone back on, and now the phone does not recognise when the qwerty keyboard is opened, and it hence does not turn the screen, nor type the correct letters. the phone had no problems prior to this happening.

Sep 30, 2011I've had my E72 for about a year and a half now, and whereas originally I could charge it via USB, it stopped doing this after a software update. Soft resets, hard resets, OS update: nothing helps.
To clarify what exactly happens:I connect the E72 via USB. It beeps long, indicating that it's connected to 'PC suite', and short, indicating that it started charging.It keeps charging whilst the backlight is on.As soon as the backlight goes off, charging stops. The only way to have it charge again (at least, until the screen goes black again) is by removing and re-inserting the USB cable.
On a side note, it's this kind of behaviour, plus that the latest software update meant that you always go back to the top of the page when choosing 'back' in the browser (not a good thing on a smartphone - well, at least they fixed the text select), and the fact that OVI suite (compulsory if you want to do anything useful with your phone, like maps) fills up two-thirds of the screen with this useless shop of theirs, that I've come to the conclusion that my next phone is not going to be a Nokia - a brand I've been using since the late 90's.
But until my employer gives me an Android phone, it'd be nice if I could charge the E72 via USB.

Aug 22, 2011I went hiking with my friends this weekend and my phones battery died. My phones keyboard is not working now and I have tried every single update and all that - when I updated the phone my microphone didn't worked after the update so I had enough and went for it and broke the phone apart - I got the mic working by a miracle, but the keyboard is still out of the game - I haven't abused the item in any other way or has it fell or had rain or water on it - It just ran out of batterylife and when I recharged it with my PC USB cable the keyboard was just not working. Otherwise good devices but not so good reliability. I will try to remeber to post here tomorrow when i have correct t5 torx screw ready - I hope to find something interesting inside.

Dec 11, 2012how to fix my E7 without going to NCP? When you open the keyboard, it does not register that it has been opened, and also only the top row of the keyboard works (does numbers correctly but characters wrong). I've already tried doing a hard reset on the phone which was to no avail.

Jun 1, 2011I got my E7 yesterday and encountered a problem today. When I try to write an sms or email on the virtual keyboard (phone slide closed in portrait format), the screen is not responsive at all. The screen is responsive when I press the "write message" icon on the homescreen, I can press any icon etc. and the phone works. Only when I open the virtual keyboard, does it stop responding. Only way out of the screen is to press the physical key on the bottom of the phone.
Anyone else encountered this? Could there be some weird setting that prevents me from using the virtual keyboard? The physical keyboard works fine.

Nov 23, 2012It takes rather long to delete a number of words using the keyboard because the key repeat rate is set up to be rather slow (approx. 5 characters per second).
Is there a setting somewhere where I can increase the speed? I would like to set the key repeat rate to double speed.

Jun 22, 2011Just bought the nokia E7. Well had little problems with it but have been solving them bit by bit.The problem that I haven't solved yet is that when locking the phone and creating the password to unlock it, it doesn't seem to work.
I touch the power button to lock and it locks. A screen with number appears so that I can put the password and selecting any number or even pressing cancel unlocks the phone.

Nov 26, 2010I have a problem with my E5. I shut it down and charge it. When it's fully charged I remove the charger and the charging screen with the small battery in the top right corner doesn't go away. It stays in that screen. Then, when I turn it back on, immediately the password screen appears, without the Nokia/hands logo start screen and I get a notification, something to do with not being able to disable energy save mode. When I shut it down and start it up again, everything is normal. However, the problem with the charging screen is annoying to me.
