Apr 2, 2012I encrypted my memory card, worked ok for months. Today I showed a buddy of mine the encryption application, which asked if the memory card should be encrypted (encryption was already enabled). No Keyfiles/Passwords where asked for. The Phone crashed after that (hard reset after 5 hours). So the card is now encrypted, but there appears to be no valid key file on the device... So we have the usual issue: encrypted card, no keyfile or password.My problem is different in the following aspect: I don't want to recover any data - I just want to reformat the card and use my last (weekly) backup. However the phone won't let me do this. The following steps were taken to solve this issue without success:A complete Restore using the PC Suite does not restore any memory card contents or keys. The memory card stays "corrupted", encrypted and unwritable."Format Memory Card" says "card corrupted". Upon issuing the format request it says "Another application is using this memory card. Proceed" (which I confirm, as I suppose the crypto driver grabs the device) and then the program does nothing. It returns to the starting screen with "memory card corrupted".ReEnabling Encryption with a different key keeps saying that "No keys found", even after setting a new one. Sidenote: Even with a new key the card can't be formatted, as described above.The Phone was reset (using *#7370#, the 3+*+Green never worked on my phone) to factory defaults. Still the card was correctly recognized as encrypted and remained unusable as described above.Using a PC to format the memory card fails, as only the first 512kB appear to be writable (using dd under linux to write sequential zeroes). Despite writing this zero-dump, the phone still recognizes the card as encrypted, which implies that data on the card survived that crude zeroing attempt. Interestingly enough I can create a FAT32 Filesystem on these 512KB (not quick format), which appears to have no effect on the phone considering the card encrypted...The card is ok, since it was only removed after the problem occured. This must be an encryption issue. I suspect that the "Read Only" Password was set on the SD Card (hardware side, not E71 software) and hence all read/write operations are declined by the card.Is there any way to actually reset the encryption state of this card? As I previously said: I am not trying to recover any data, I just want a cleanly formatted microSD card..

Nov 18, 2012so i changed the battery on my e7-00 the other day, after following a tutorial on Internet. i changed it with no problems, reassembled, and then turned the phone back on, and now the phone does not recognise when the qwerty keyboard is opened, and it hence does not turn the screen, nor type the correct letters. the phone had no problems prior to this happening.

Aug 22, 2011I went hiking with my friends this weekend and my phones battery died. My phones keyboard is not working now and I have tried every single update and all that - when I updated the phone my microphone didn't worked after the update so I had enough and went for it and broke the phone apart - I got the mic working by a miracle, but the keyboard is still out of the game - I haven't abused the item in any other way or has it fell or had rain or water on it - It just ran out of batterylife and when I recharged it with my PC USB cable the keyboard was just not working. Otherwise good devices but not so good reliability. I will try to remeber to post here tomorrow when i have correct t5 torx screw ready - I hope to find something interesting inside.

Jun 1, 2011I got my E7 yesterday and encountered a problem today. When I try to write an sms or email on the virtual keyboard (phone slide closed in portrait format), the screen is not responsive at all. The screen is responsive when I press the "write message" icon on the homescreen, I can press any icon etc. and the phone works. Only when I open the virtual keyboard, does it stop responding. Only way out of the screen is to press the physical key on the bottom of the phone.
Anyone else encountered this? Could there be some weird setting that prevents me from using the virtual keyboard? The physical keyboard works fine.

Nov 23, 2012It takes rather long to delete a number of words using the keyboard because the key repeat rate is set up to be rather slow (approx. 5 characters per second).
Is there a setting somewhere where I can increase the speed? I would like to set the key repeat rate to double speed.

Jun 22, 2011Just bought the nokia E7. Well had little problems with it but have been solving them bit by bit.The problem that I haven't solved yet is that when locking the phone and creating the password to unlock it, it doesn't seem to work.
I touch the power button to lock and it locks. A screen with number appears so that I can put the password and selecting any number or even pressing cancel unlocks the phone.
