I am posting on my friend's behalf as she is having phone troubles that started yesterday out of nowhere. During the day she was making / receiving phone calls fine and noticed no problems with her phone. However in the evening she took a call and couldn't hear anything until she turned on speaker phone. Since then we have not been able to get any phone calls to come out of the normal earpiece, just from the speaker. It almost seems as though it is a weird setting or something as the phone seems to be aware of the problem. Whenever she answers a call now it is immediately set to speaker phone when she hits the button to accept the call. If we then turn off speaker we can no longer hear the caller. I looked through all the settings and can't find anything. She assures me she never dropped the phone between the last normal call and the first time she had the problem.
I have a display problem with one of my two phone. When you power on the phone the Samsung logo appear and off after that but the phone boot up OK just don't have any on the screen, I can make call or receive OK. I disassemble both phones and swap the main board and find out that nothing wrong with the LCD Screen but the Main board. The phone have BK03 bin and I loaded with CB23 bin and it working good now.
I got Bitpim to recognize the serial and modem ports for Samsung as available but, when I try to goto file system with the serial port, it shows the folder icon as open but it doesn't do anything. I tried to use "Other CDMA Phone" for detection. If I try the Modem port, it says "Retrieving." like it's attempting to open it but, soon, it stops and is in the same spot as the serial port.
I'm so confused on here to add the proxy to my Rant. The model number is SPH-M540 I believe. All the guides that I see on how to get the free WAP internet online all say enter Username. When I go into ##3282# Under user name then edit and I enter my MSL code I get User NAI, MN-AAA Secret, MN-HA Secret, SPI MN-HA, SPI MN-AAA, Rev Tun Pref, Home Address, Primary HA IP and Second HA IP. None of those have anything with entering my user name or password that is need to be entered to connect to the proxy. I tried putting the Username in User NAI but that requires an e-mail not just a username. Please help. I have the phone currently on a sprint plan and I really doubt anyone there could or would tell me how to do this.
I am attempting to help a friend and also satisfy my curiosity. She has a Samsung "Rant" through carrier Sprint. She said that after her phone was turned off for non-payment, she can no longer use the phone. She claims she has been remotely locked out, as if you set a security lock code and forgot it, that kind of locked out. She swears the company locked her out to keep her from getting at her contacts. Is this even possible? I googled and the only thing I can find is blacklisting lock outs using the ESN, which I already realize. But to actually lock the hardware remotely, is another thing. I know they can remotely unlock. What is her best option to recover those important numbers, and do all carriers actively do this sort of thing (if it's even true?)
I have a M540 and I am trying to transfer my contact list to a Yada YD-V22 hands free device. No matter what I have tried I haven't been able to do it. I keep getting stuck on downloading please wait. I have followed the instructions in the Yada manual, and there was no help in the Samsung manual. The device will answer the phone but there is no way I can voice dial from it. I have spent the last couple of hours trying to do this. Any help would be appreciated or the Yada goes back to the store where I bought it. With hands free being the law starting Monday in Ontario I would sure like to get it working.
I have an SCH-U440, also known as Gloss, from US Cellular. I have done some digging online, but CDMA codes seem hard to come by. Ideally, I would like to know how to edit the "sms mo so" setting so I could change it to 13k instead of 8k, as has been mentioned in various material I have found. Of course, I'm not sure if this is possible, but if it is not, is there some alternative?
Secondly, tonight, I managed to breach this phone's 70 or 72ish inbox limit by having lots and lots of picture messages. I got it up to 117 when I decided to delete all the messages and see if the new limit had been set, as was suggested to work for certain Samsung models on another site. This does not seem to be the case, as I am back at 72.
My laptop is Vista. It recognizes the Samsung as a modem but the CDMA workshop wont read neither does any program it seems it doesn't recognize it as a phone. I am trying to flash it to metro what do I need?
I have an iphone 4 the network is from Mexico but I am currently in the UK, is there any chance to have unlocked so I can install a micro simcard so I can use it overhere in London?
I bought a iphone 5s off ebay and it is through a sprint carrier and I had it flashed to straight talk and I got the sim activated for it but its not verifying the sim so im trying to figure out how to unlock so I can use it...
I've read this little hack apparently saves a lot of battery life (and it is abysmal right now), but I haven't read anything about what exactly this does. What are the pros (other than battery life) and cons of this change? Does it affect reception/signal strength? Any info is appreciated.
finesse, sch-r810 that will respond at all. i lost web and wap after flashing, called metropcs after a few weeks, and lost voice service moments after that. service could not be found, thought i'd just flash again. a problem occurred that left my phone with no filesystem (i assume), and now i dont think anything is seeing my phone (com ports inactive). ive tried the well knowns that google would offer, bitpim, qpst, qdxm, p2k, multiloader and others, as well as plenty of non-samsung software that i thought/hoped might work (unipst, optiflash, others). just this evening i downloaded sdk tools and weird 'unlock sim' 'secret zone' softwares, nothing.
i actually recorded the processes, both computer and phone screens (desktop capture+webcam). planned an upload to Internet, but would like a solution/tip to accompany the problem. thats why the cdma request, or any software that can access qualcomm chipsets, or similar/usable characteristic. my model seems replaced to have been by newer samsung phones, though if the internals are similar, i'd like to express that to others.
administrators: i did post this just a minute ago in the metropcs forum first, by mistake. ive got a thousand tabs open and didnt notice until after the 'submit', if youre going to remove one, do that one please. its not in a general place and i didnt quickly see how to delete. thanks.
today i tried to contact AT&T for their unlock requirements but I had a strange surprise: My IMEI was not listed in their system. At live chat they told me that my e-mail would be send to Apple to check what is happening, but still nothing happend (don't know if such promise was made or not).I bought this iphone in eBay and it is supposed to be locked to AT&T (saw it on box and model). Is there any e-mail support that Apple would answer? I can't receive/make calls since i am overseas right know to use their call service.
After requesting for a carrier unlock with AT&T, I received their confirmation email and followed the directions. I have been trying to restore my iPhone 3G using the latest iTunes installed on a MacBook with OS X Lion. I have been unable to restore and use my phone. I am stuck at restoring it over and over giving me an error code of 1015.
Ive got a new Galaxy S2 and after using it for a few days I now have a voice telling the weather and the time on the screen everytime I unlock the phone. What did I press to get it and how do I delete or mute it? I have not dowloaded any new apps. I only have the ones on the phone so far.
I want to buy a used iPhone from eBay Australia who was bought in some carrier (like Optues, Telstra etc...) and unlocked by the carrier for the buyer's request.
Carrier unlock is like factory unlock? I will be able to use this iPhone in any GSM network in the world?
I haven an jailbroken iphone 4 unlock in mexico TECEL and everytime i plug it into my macbook it ask me for an update on the carrier or something like that, should i do it? or not? i dont wanna loose my unlock u_u
I bought a 2nd hand Iphone4 and a carrier unlock was submitted to Vodaphone by the previous owner sucessfully. However the phone is still locked and it was well over 7 days since the request was put in. How long do these things take, I was told it would only be 5 days.
I just had my iPhone 4 unlocked by ATT, but how do I test that it is unlocked? The Apple knowledge base article [URL] says that once the iPhone has been unlocked I should get a message in iTunes saying: "Unlock Complete. Congratulations, your iPhone has been unlocked. To set up and sync this iPhone, click Continue."
I did not get that message, but neither did I get an error message. Since ATT's (possible) unlock I have updated the software to 5.1.1, and done a complete backup and restore. I bought the iPhone used from a friend several months ago, and then created a custom config / profile with Apple iPhone Configuration Utility. This allowed me to use the phone as a Pay As You Go phone on ATT's network, and has worked this way with no problems for the last six months. The phone has not been jailbroken, or unlocked with a third party unlocking tool.
In the next few weeks I will be traveling to the UK where I want to be able to use a local number, but want to make sure that this will work before I travel. How do I test ATT's unlock without a Tmobile micro sim that I dont have?
I telephone T-Mobile today and requested the Carrier Subsidy Unlock Code for our Motorola Defy. They said that they would have it to me in 24 hours! Has anybody ever actually had that quick of a turnaround time on a T-Mobile Carrier Subsidy Unlock Code request?
