I bought a iphone 5s off ebay and it is through a sprint carrier and I had it flashed to straight talk and I got the sim activated for it but its not verifying the sim so im trying to figure out how to unlock so I can use it...
today i tried to contact AT&T for their unlock requirements but I had a strange surprise: My IMEI was not listed in their system. At live chat they told me that my e-mail would be send to Apple to check what is happening, but still nothing happend (don't know if such promise was made or not).I bought this iphone in eBay and it is supposed to be locked to AT&T (saw it on box and model). Is there any e-mail support that Apple would answer? I can't receive/make calls since i am overseas right know to use their call service.
After requesting for a carrier unlock with AT&T, I received their confirmation email and followed the directions. I have been trying to restore my iPhone 3G using the latest iTunes installed on a MacBook with OS X Lion. I have been unable to restore and use my phone. I am stuck at restoring it over and over giving me an error code of 1015.
I haven an jailbroken iphone 4 unlock in mexico TECEL and everytime i plug it into my macbook it ask me for an update on the carrier or something like that, should i do it? or not? i dont wanna loose my unlock u_u
I bought a 2nd hand Iphone4 and a carrier unlock was submitted to Vodaphone by the previous owner sucessfully. However the phone is still locked and it was well over 7 days since the request was put in. How long do these things take, I was told it would only be 5 days.
I just had my iPhone 4 unlocked by ATT, but how do I test that it is unlocked? The Apple knowledge base article [URL] says that once the iPhone has been unlocked I should get a message in iTunes saying: "Unlock Complete. Congratulations, your iPhone has been unlocked. To set up and sync this iPhone, click Continue."
I did not get that message, but neither did I get an error message. Since ATT's (possible) unlock I have updated the software to 5.1.1, and done a complete backup and restore. I bought the iPhone used from a friend several months ago, and then created a custom config / profile with Apple iPhone Configuration Utility. This allowed me to use the phone as a Pay As You Go phone on ATT's network, and has worked this way with no problems for the last six months. The phone has not been jailbroken, or unlocked with a third party unlocking tool.
In the next few weeks I will be traveling to the UK where I want to be able to use a local number, but want to make sure that this will work before I travel. How do I test ATT's unlock without a Tmobile micro sim that I dont have?
I just received a s620 that I need to unlock to work with my local carrier. Can someone point me in the right direction? Is it as simple as just plugging in the correct unlock code? If so, where can I get one?
I have had my lumia for about 3 weeks, and several times i have experiensed that it sayes "no service" - Unable to call or SMS - Don't know if its a Telenor problem or a Nokia problem. Somtimes it just returns, some times i have to restart the phone to get service back.
I'm in Canada, and I have an older relative in Canada who could use a Samsung Jitterbug. Yeah, I know, it's not "cool", but it's simple and easy for a senior. Acc. to Greatcall, the exclusive provider of the Jitterbug phone and service, the phone is locked to one of several US carriers, depending on where you specify you live (or something like that) when you order it.
When I phoned Greatcall, they said we could order it and have it shipped to Canada and use it here, but I am skeptical about how/whether that work, even billing-wise, let alone technically. However, since it's AMPS/CDMA, I was wondering if anyone has used it on a Canadian network or unlocked it. Most of the features of the phone that make it useful are built into the phone (I say most, not all) and should therefore make it network independent if it could be unlocked.
I have my carrier unlock code from AT&T for my V9, but they told me that I would be prompted when I put in another carrier's SIM.I want to sell this on eBay, and don't know anybody with a T-Mobile SIM I could borrow for 30 seconds. Is there an alternate procedure for entering the carrier unlock code? Searching for "unlock" just brings on a billion things that aren't what I need. Please trust me, this wasn't for lack of searching. All I can find a websites that want to sell me an unlock code.
I 'm running with Koodo Mobile(samsung m540) and my phone just die, i've a 3 years contract , My question is, Can i buy an unlocked phone and just transfere my contract or something like that. I know with sim card you just slide card for cell to cell and that its. But is there a way With cdma PHone ?
I've updated my partner's 3G iPhone non-JB, and was getting ready to update. Anyone update, and notice any difference? Go into iTunes>Connect iPhone>Update Apps>Prompt Screen: Carrier Settings Update>2.9 to 3.1
I telephone T-Mobile today and requested the Carrier Subsidy Unlock Code for our Motorola Defy. They said that they would have it to me in 24 hours! Has anybody ever actually had that quick of a turnaround time on a T-Mobile Carrier Subsidy Unlock Code request?
Ok, so I have a high aversion for hacks, I hate them by nature. So much in fact that I abandoned my 2G and shelled a ton of cash to get my hand on a factory unlocked 3G as soon as they were available, which was a dream come true, no more ugly hacks, just update via iTunes, as it should be.
Problem is I now have that old 2G lying around with a very old pre 2.0 FW, because that was the last I felt I could update to and void any ugly hacks or mods.Anyway, back near the beginning I remember a company that took money to perform what was likely close to a permanent unlock. They had found some exploit apparently, and even after updating your firmware the unlock stuck, all you needed to do was activate.
So I got to thinking, all these hackers have pretty much dug out all the internals of the iPhone by now. Has anyone of them discovered a method to emulate what Apple does when they perform a legit permanent unlock on iPhones?
I know apple can do this, for in some countries locked iPhones can be unlocked after paying a fee, so the method must exist to once and for all be rid of the hassle and make any iPhone like my legit factory unlocked 3G.
I have given my 2G to someone, and I am thinking of upgrading its firmware for them, but only if there exists a method to fully permanently unlock it so it can receive all future updates via iTunes.I have absolutely no interest in JailBreaking the thing so I can cram it full of crap. The iPhone is great as it is, me thinks, I just want the benefit of future firmwares for better reception, battery life and bug fixes.
I love my iphone 3GS but I had to switch carriers, I paid $129.99 a month for unlimited min, data, text, picture, gps on my iphone and I cant believe Sprint have that and includes sprint tv also just for $69.99 a month.
I wish I could have a cdma iphone for sprint.
I hope Sprint and Apple work something out, because verizon sucks.
