I just bought my play like a week ago and i actually love it at first. As i continued using my phone i saw the wifi was having problems, i thought it was because of my rooter but no. I tried with other devices (iphone) and (lg optimus 2x) and they worked perfectly. There i realized it wans't my rooter's problem but my phone's wifi. My wifi fades out, it's to unstable and it connects and disconnects ramdomly for no reason. I was looking for info in the net and i found there is this 2.3.3 update and i saw the bugs it fixes and well there it was wifi stability fixed and also it has a facebook integration. I was actually pretty happy when i saw this but i tried OTA pc companion and Update service and they all say the same lastest software installed. Though it said i had the latest software it was false i still have 2.3.2 and i'm getting pretty upset with this i can't use my phone as i wish to. You know when i bought was because i already have had an xperia x10 and it was a pretty good phone though i had to use flashtool with it to install multitouch because SE never released that update here in mexico. Well evertything was fine with my xperia x10 but then the play came out and i was like whoah perfect but yeah i got it and actually it has a nice camera nice hardware i love the controls evertything but my wifi ***** and it gets me mad and upset. I expect a response why hasn't sony released 2.3.3 in mexicoo ??? and when r we having this update my last 2 phones i've had to root because the software updates were never released and i actually don't want to do this with my play i wan't to keep it as it is without rooting it. please don't tell i'll have to root or unlock the bootloader with this phone to make it from r800a into a r800i to update an enjoy the 2.3.3.

At live chat they told me that my e-mail would be send to Apple to check what is happening, but still nothing happend (don't know if such promise was made or not).I bought this iphone in eBay and it is supposed to be locked to AT&T (saw it on box and model). I just had my iPhone 4 unlocked by ATT, but how do I test that it is unlocked? The Apple knowledge base article [URL] says that once the iPhone has been unlocked I should get a message in iTunes saying: "Unlock Complete. Congratulations, your iPhone has been unlocked. To set up and sync this iPhone, click Continue."
I did not get that message, but neither did I get an error message. Since ATT's (possible) unlock I have updated the software to 5.1.1, and done a complete backup and restore. I bought the iPhone used from a friend several months ago, and then created a custom config / profile with Apple iPhone Configuration Utility. This allowed me to use the phone as a Pay As You Go phone on ATT's network, and has worked this way with no problems for the last six months. The phone has not been jailbroken, or unlocked with a third party unlocking tool.
In the next few weeks I will be traveling to the UK where I want to be able to use a local number, but want to make sure that this will work before I travel. How do I test ATT's unlock without a Tmobile micro sim that I dont have?

The latest update is Verizon 12.1. I aceepeted the update and it updated according to iTunes. Turns out that VZ has coverage (no doubt thru a CDMA Roaming Partner there) in Metro Mexico City. I knew it was expensive as hell ($5.20/MB!) so I had no expectation of really ever using it, but just for grits and shins I turned on 3G to see how well it worked. It was fairly fast, and I ran up a MB just messing around for 10 mins. I guess it would have been OK in an emergency situation, but it's appalling how much the carriers can screw you- I find it hard to believe that VZ is being charged ANYWHERE near $5/MB- and as with many things, the reason they do is "Because They Can".
- I brought my Roku (network-content streaming) Box along, even though I had a feeling the services I use (Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Instant Videos) would be blocked when coming from non-US networks, as indeed they were. But using my Xoom, I was still able to at least watch my Slingbox one night- by hooking up the Hotel's TV to my Xoom via the HDMI connection, then using my Logitech DiNovo Mini combo mouse/keyboard to navigate. I was able to catch some shows on my DVR in Los Angeles, 1700 miles away
