BB Software :: How To Use Other Carrier SW/V5.0 Update
Jul 6, 2010
I got my new Curve 8900 from Mobinil (orange) , the SW provided from this carrier is V4.6, is there anyway i can update my Phone to V5? as when trying to update it through BDM it says " no Update Available".
Today I plugged in my iPhone to iTunes and it said a carrier update was available. My phone runs on Verizon wireless and it's carrier is Verizon 12.0. The latest update is Verizon 12.1. I aceepeted the update and it updated according to iTunes. Now my phone still says Verizon 12.0 not 12.1 I would like to now if the update did work or if it didn't how to fix it. Also I would like to know if other people are having this problem. This is my first carrier update on my iPhone that I have done.
My SI no is 1247-8404. I am from India. I haven't purchased this phone from India. If ics update is based on network carrier and country then why am I not getting this update?Let me know if 1247-8404 is in your update list, I can't wait long and 1247-8404 belongs to which country?
I've searched all over the forum, and generally online, but am not finding a way to stop iTunes presenting the "An update to the carrier settings is available. Would you like to down load it now?"
I've got an Iphone 3G updated to 4.0.1 and I did jailbreak it and unlock the network, but now when I open the Itunes I found a mandatory update for the carrier setting. My question is if i update it will I lose the jailbreak and the network will lock again?
I haven an jailbroken iphone 4 unlock in mexico TECEL and everytime i plug it into my macbook it ask me for an update on the carrier or something like that, should i do it? or not? i dont wanna loose my unlock u_u
I love my iphone 3GS but I had to switch carriers, I paid $129.99 a month for unlimited min, data, text, picture, gps on my iphone and I cant believe Sprint have that and includes sprint tv also just for $69.99 a month.
I wish I could have a cdma iphone for sprint.
I hope Sprint and Apple work something out, because verizon sucks.
I have two BB's and my newest (9800) is set up with a carrier's BIS. The phone is unlocked and I want to use it with another carrier's BIS service. If I re-register my old BB with my original carrier's BIS I think (from what I've read) that will release my PIN for use with my new carrier's BIS, but does anyone know if the PIN is locked to the carrier or the BIS? And will I also have to get the PIN released from my carrier?
I would like to upgrade my Blackberry Bold 9900, but I have a little problem. My Blackberry is not associated with any carrier, and I only find versions of the software that are provided by a carrier. My question is...is there any official version of the software 7.1 provided by Blackberry/RIM that I could download
Just wondering what the general opinion is here on how important having an iPhone is. Would you guys switch carriers left and right to follow a release of a new iPhone, or would you stay put with AT&T and get something else?
I have a LG LX600, that is from the Bell AND the Sasktel Carrier system in Canada. I have an MTS evolve contract with a browser package that I want to use. I have played around with this for two days, and have found out some things about this phone. Hopefully others are trying the same and we can put our heads together.First, getting this Bell Phone on the MTS system is easy with CDMA Tools 2.7. Simple interface for detecting and changing the ESN and the SCM code. Bitpim also has a file that appears to, when viewed, show the SCM code (other CDMA phone is all that works with bitpim, as explained in the sticky at the top of this forum)##SCMCODE# and you are in the setup menu, where you can set the phone number. Also, you can pick the carrier...Bell or Sasktel.
However, there is a file called phone.cfg, that appears to set the username. It shows my phone number with the carrier browser account. So (AreaCodePhone#)@services.1x.stm.sk.ca if you have chosen the Sasktel version of the phone (like I did only so that I didn't have to see the Bell logo come up) and the same number and a Bell 1x Url if you picked the Bell.I went in and hexedit this phone.cfg to say (PhoneNu)@1x.mts.net and tried to write the file to the phone with bitpim. However, whenever the phone restarts, it appears to re-write this setting back to (AreaCodePhone#)@services.1x.stm.sk.ca. So the phone seems to overwrite this phone.cfg file every time it starts, and puts it back to the carrier. You can also use ##3282# to go in an edit this (seems to work best after I have overwritten the file with the hexedited file)...you sometimes get an edit choice and other times only a view. However, you have to hit done to write it, and then the phone restarts, and it is back to the sk.ca account.
I have seen other posts where you have to unlock the paramtable1 file for editing. I am wondering if I can LOCK this file so it doesn't get edited by changing a value. (There is no paramtable1 file on this phone)I would really like to get the browser working on a different network. I really like this phone. If anyone has any thoughts, links, ideas or anything else that might assist, or wants to work together on this, I would be happy to try things.
My iphone 3 gs has just suddenly stopped connecting to my carrier. it has been like this for 2 days. Have checked the sim in another phone and the sim is ok. Also how do i reset my phone without losing my info?
I researched and found nothing, except one post on yahoo answers that the iPhone 4s is compatible around the world with any carrier - this sounds too good to be true.
