Apr 10, 2012today i tried to contact AT&T for their unlock requirements but I had a strange surprise: My IMEI was not listed in their system. At live chat they told me that my e-mail would be send to Apple to check what is happening, but still nothing happend (don't know if such promise was made or not).I bought this iphone in eBay and it is supposed to be locked to AT&T (saw it on box and model). Is there any e-mail support that Apple would answer? I can't receive/make calls since i am overseas right know to use their call service.

May 7, 2012I just had my iPhone 4 unlocked by ATT, but how do I test that it is unlocked? The Apple knowledge base article [URL] says that once the iPhone has been unlocked I should get a message in iTunes saying: "Unlock Complete. Congratulations, your iPhone has been unlocked. To set up and sync this iPhone, click Continue."
I did not get that message, but neither did I get an error message. Since ATT's (possible) unlock I have updated the software to 5.1.1, and done a complete backup and restore. I bought the iPhone used from a friend several months ago, and then created a custom config / profile with Apple iPhone Configuration Utility. This allowed me to use the phone as a Pay As You Go phone on ATT's network, and has worked this way with no problems for the last six months. The phone has not been jailbroken, or unlocked with a third party unlocking tool.
In the next few weeks I will be traveling to the UK where I want to be able to use a local number, but want to make sure that this will work before I travel. How do I test ATT's unlock without a Tmobile micro sim that I dont have?

Why Won't Carrier Name Appear On Unlocked IPhone 5s
Aug 21, 2014I just moved to another country, and purchased a sim card for my unlocked iPhone 5s. After realising I purchased the wrong one, I cut down the micro sim to a nano. It seems like all services are working - I can make calls, receive texts, etc but the carrier name won't appear. Not sure if this is indicative of troubles to come. It appears blank next to the signal strength. Could this be because of the DIY sim card or was my phone not unlocked properly? I had it unlocked through my carrier back home.

When I say use cellular carriers network its telling me the sim card is not recognized and to use it with another carrier. I called AppleCare to confirm that in fact both my wifes and my phone were unlocked and could be used with any carrier. They said yes its unlocked and can be used with any carrier around the world.
