Samsung :: Drawbacks To Putting A Verizon Alias 2 Into CDMA Mode?

Feb 8, 2010

I've read this little hack apparently saves a lot of battery life (and it is abysmal right now), but I haven't read anything about what exactly this does. What are the pros (other than battery life) and cons of this change? Does it affect reception/signal strength? Any info is appreciated.

Motorola Droid Razr M :: How To Switch From 4G To CDMA Mode Verizon

Nov 14, 2012

how to switch from 4G to CDMA mode verizon

steps are listed below for verizon customers only with 4G Devices with " ICS or Jelly Bean "

how to switch from 4G to CDMA mode verizon devices.

For whatever reason, Verizon and Motorola have removed the option under Mobile Network Settings to switch to "CDMA Only" in the Ice Cream Sandwich update that is headed to RAZRs over the next few days. For anyone that doesn't have a RAZR MAXX, this is a problem, as LTE destroys batteries faster than you can charge them. In place of the former "CDMA Only" option is a "Global" feature for those that travel the world. Why they didn't leave the old option and simply add "Global" to the list is a great mystery, but don't worry, we have a way to get you onto 3G and saving batteries in just a few steps.

Kitty Wireless (who have been very kind) have been helping but they the esn must be wrong. Any ideas of where to find an ESN BESIDES under the battery? I have looked under settings and phone info but it's not there.

Samsung :: Verizon Picture Transfer From Verizon SCH-U365 To PC

Nov 16, 2012

This is for my father-in-law's phone. He has just basic service, so no text or data plan. Bitpim doesn't appear to support it and I cannot find a USB driver for it. The phone does not currently have Kies installed (I don't even know if it is supported on this phone). And he can't install new applications because he has no data plan. Is he pretty much out of luck or is there some alternate way of doing this that I haven't discovered yet?

Xperia Z3 :: Phone Keeps Putting Itself Into Silent Mode Randomly

Sep 10, 2013

In the last week or so my phone keeps putting itself into silent mode, so it doesn't ring when someone is calling me or make a sound when I get messages. This is a nuisance as I keep missing calls. The only way that I can get the phone to ring is to restart the phone, however it will then randomly set itself back into silent mode at some later point in time. When I go into sounds and notifications it will not allow me to increase the ringer volume.

Samsung :: Alias "Auto View" Error

Jan 6, 2010

I posted this in the Verizon section yesterday (I am new, still figuring the site out)Nobody answered
So I apologize for the duplicate posting but I'm desperate to find out if anyone can help me.Original thread I posted this on (for background info on the problem I am having)
http://howardforums.com/showthread.p...8#post13400278I just started using my second Alias, which I had been saving until my first one was totally trashed. I love this phone and I'm not happy with the configuration of the new Alias, so when I was eligible for a new phone I got another of the same one I already had.The second one, the one I am using now, has the AF25 software. My original phone has the ZL05 version. As a result - I only discovered this hideous "Auto View" problem recently. And I ended up here while trying to find a fix for this annoying bug.So my question to all you fine folks now is.Did anyone ever find a fix for this bug, and if not, can anyone tell me if/how I can download the old software onto my newer Alias. I believe I have downloaded the necessary file onto my desktop but beyond that I am completely clueless on how to get it onto my phone.

I tried to use "Other CDMA Phone" for detection. If I try the Modem port, it says "Retrieving." like it's attempting to open it but, soon, it stops and is in the same spot as the serial port.

Samsung :: CDMA SCH-U440 Codes

May 22, 2010

I have an SCH-U440, also known as Gloss, from US Cellular. I have done some digging online, but CDMA codes seem hard to come by. Ideally, I would like to know how to edit the "sms mo so" setting so I could change it to 13k instead of 8k, as has been mentioned in various material I have found. Of course, I'm not sure if this is possible, but if it is not, is there some alternative?

Secondly, tonight, I managed to breach this phone's 70 or 72ish inbox limit by having lots and lots of picture messages. I got it up to 117 when I decided to delete all the messages and see if the new limit had been set, as was suggested to work for certain Samsung models on another site. This does not seem to be the case, as I am back at 72.

Samsung :: Sch-r810 - CDMA System Controller- Access After BRICK

May 17, 2010

finesse, sch-r810 that will respond at all. i lost web and wap after flashing, called metropcs after a few weeks, and lost voice service moments after that. service could not be found, thought i'd just flash again. a problem occurred that left my phone with no filesystem (i assume), and now i dont think anything is seeing my phone (com ports inactive). ive tried the well knowns that google would offer, bitpim, qpst, qdxm, p2k, multiloader and others, as well as plenty of non-samsung software that i thought/hoped might work (unipst, optiflash, others). just this evening i downloaded sdk tools and weird 'unlock sim' 'secret zone' softwares, nothing.

i actually recorded the processes, both computer and phone screens (desktop capture+webcam). planned an upload to Internet, but would like a solution/tip to accompany the problem. thats why the cdma request, or any software that can access qualcomm chipsets, or similar/usable characteristic. my model seems replaced to have been by newer samsung phones, though if the internals are similar, i'd like to express that to others.

administrators: i did post this just a minute ago in the metropcs forum first, by mistake. ive got a thousand tabs open and didnt notice until after the 'submit', if youre going to remove one, do that one please. its not in a general place and i didnt quickly see how to delete. thanks.

Samsung :: Flashing Samsung Instinct M810 To Verizon?

Nov 8, 2011

A couple years ago my wife bought a Samsung Instinct M810. I flashed the phone to Verizon so she could use PagePlus. Everything has been working fine but the phone has really been beaten up. About the only thing that still works is the speed dial function.

A few days ago I found another Instinct in mint condition for her. I have been trying to flash it to Verizon with limited luck. I activated the phone with PagePlus and received a phone number ( I was planning on porting her number when I had everything working). The phone connects to Verizon but it can't connect to OTP. If I dial a number I get connected to Verizon with the message "Welcome to Verizon, unfortunately we cannot identify your phone, etc."

The problem is that when I dial *22890 (or any *228xx number)the signal bars vanish and there is an indicator showing no service and the call is dropped. After the call is dropped the signal returns and I can again connect to Verizon. I have tried several PRL's, even the one on my wife's current phone but it doesn't make any difference. I didn't have this much trouble with her other phone so I am at a loss.

I travel so much so it will be almost impossible to always know the exact name of the network.

Samsung :: Verizon Omnia To Work On Cricket

Feb 8, 2010

I have read stuff where people are doing this right now, and other posts saying it is impossible. I want the truth! I am ready to switch to Cricket anyways because I'm tired of paying $90 month for verizon when I can get the same stuff from Cricket for half, but I'm dreading both buying a Cricket phone and losing my Omnia (i900). I asked at the retail store if I got it unlocked could I use it since both are CDMA carriers and the guy didn't seem too informed. Also, another store rep told me that some markets were able to do that but my market (DC/Northern VA) would not support a verizon flashed phone. So what's the truth? If I get it unlocked can I get it to work on Cricket?
