I have a Samsung Instinct flashed to Verizon wireless, I was wondering how i could get internet working on it? I see in other forums that people got metropcs internet on this phone so it shouldnt be too hard to put verizon on here right?
A couple years ago my wife bought a Samsung Instinct M810. I flashed the phone to Verizon so she could use PagePlus. Everything has been working fine but the phone has really been beaten up. About the only thing that still works is the speed dial function.
A few days ago I found another Instinct in mint condition for her. I have been trying to flash it to Verizon with limited luck. I activated the phone with PagePlus and received a phone number ( I was planning on porting her number when I had everything working). The phone connects to Verizon but it can't connect to OTP. If I dial a number I get connected to Verizon with the message "Welcome to Verizon, unfortunately we cannot identify your phone, etc."
The problem is that when I dial *22890 (or any *228xx number)the signal bars vanish and there is an indicator showing no service and the call is dropped. After the call is dropped the signal returns and I can again connect to Verizon. I have tried several PRL's, even the one on my wife's current phone but it doesn't make any difference. I didn't have this much trouble with her other phone so I am at a loss.
i had this phone for a while, and I work on a farm so the screen got scratched cuz i didnt take good enouch care of the phone, so i bough a replacement touch screen off of ebay and received it, so i got the phone apart and installed it only to turn my phone back on and find out i cant get any signal watsoever, why i cant get any signal
Seems sprint's drivers page will not give up the drivers anymore. Can some email me or point out where I could find the USB drivers? I have the mass storage one but I need the other.
I followed the instructions on how to flash my Instinct over to the Cricket network. http://ucanflash.com/samsung-instinct-S30.html
Now the only issue I am having is registering my ESN to their network in order to use it. I am somewhat confused as to how I am supposed to do so. I called the customer service number provided on their web site and asked the young lady what I needed to do in order to use my phone on their network. She really didn't understand what I was asking, but she did promptly try to sell me a new package with a free phone. I need some clarification on this subject in order to finish the setting up of this phone.
I stopped at the part where you have to change your ESN: "After changing your SPC code to six zeros "000000" and writing the new Cricket PRL on to the phone, do the ESN change through Cricket (ESN = Electronic Serial Number)". I want my daughter to be able to use this phone since it has given me such good service since I have had it for almost a year. I know they do work on the Cricket network because I have done my research, but I need some input from those of you who have inside information on how the process works with the activation of the phone.
I have a instinct that has a power button that doesn't work. I looked inside the phone and the mini ribbon with the 2 traces was damaged. Is there any way to replace that, or where to get a replacement ribbon?
I bought an Instinct M800 from Ebay and it came with a "user locked password" and the seller doesn't seem to remember what it is. The MEID is clean so I don't believe it to be stolen. My problem is, how do I remove the password? I've tried for hours entering random 4 digit passwords and nothing so far. I ended up buying a data cable for the phone but I can't seem to get the phone to load/connect with Vista, be it a driver issue, or because the phone is locked.
I have been using google and this forum's seach feature to try to get the answer to my question, but I've read different things and ended up confused.First of all, I have unlocked my Spring Samsung and uploaded the 01040 Cricket PRL and it seems to be working because when I dial 611 I get a message from Cricket. Over the air programming doesn't seem to work when dialing *228, and from reading threads I am guessing I will have to do it manually.I am confused as to at what step do I call Cricket Customer service to get some info I need. Plus, from reading another topic someone said I need to get the min#, mdn#, and sid# http://www.howardforums.com/showthre...nstinct-please from Cricket CS, is this correct? Or what info do I need to ask Cricket CS in order to continue to QPST configuration?
I am assisting a good friend of mine with flashing his Instinct to Metro. His Instinct went down and he bought another on ebay. I am trying to save him a few dollars as he has a lot on his plate with his mortgage and all. I owned an Instinct at one time so I am familiar with the "debug menu" etc. I am also pretty tech savvy and am always tweaking my devices...however have never flashed a phone. I understand I may need QTSP...If you have a link for download it would be appreciated. If you have a link to a step by step or could pass on instructions it would be greatly appreciated.
i have been looking for the lock code under Menu> 3 > * > lock code:=? i have tried 450667 but it will not work! does anyone have a list of the codes? another thing i have a Sprint Samsung instinct that i just flashed over to metro i fixed the web and now need to fix the mms. if i could get into that menu in my messenger it would show me the settings.
This is for my father-in-law's phone. He has just basic service, so no text or data plan. Bitpim doesn't appear to support it and I cannot find a USB driver for it. The phone does not currently have Kies installed (I don't even know if it is supported on this phone). And he can't install new applications because he has no data plan. Is he pretty much out of luck or is there some alternate way of doing this that I haven't discovered yet?
I have an iPhone 4S, running ios 5.1 and on the Verizon Wireless (US) network. I recently bought a TruPhone international sim card for use overseas as Verizon's global roaming rates are criminal. I met all the requiremnts to have VZW unlock the phone and contacted them. They tried of course to scam me into activating their ripoff international sim but eventualy agreed to unlock the sim card as they are required by US to do. The problem is they told me that all they really do is send a request to Apple who then unlocks the phone through iTunes. I followed their directions and synced the phone through iTunes but it hasn't unlocked. I contacted VZW and they said there's nothing else they can do. They show my account as having been unlocked and blamed Apple. truPhone confirmed that they are having troube with VZW Apple products as far as getting them unlocked.
I recently bought a blackberry curve 8330 for Verizon wireless off eBay I am unable to makes or receive calls and when I try to take a picture on my phone it says the camera has been disabled by your system administrator. This is my first blackberry but I have messed around with it enough to be somewhat familiar with
The back replaces the (extended) battery cover and it a bit thicker and heavier but not bad at all. It fits well on the phone, no issues and the back of the phone remains flat (no uneven raised portions on the cover). The cover connects to the four charing pins on the back of the phone (under the cover) so you don't need any cables that use the usb port as on some of the third party wireless phone chargers.Setup was as simple as changing the back of the phone, powering the charging pad and laying the phone on the pad. I didn't time how long it too to charge but when my phone was down 50% it didn't seem longer than the usb charger. There is an indicator on the pad that lets you know when the phone is not charging (off or not properly placed on the pad), charging or fully charged and an audible that sounds when you place the phone correctly on the pad.
You can feel when the phone is correctly placed as if there's a magnet in the pad and phone back. The bottom of the phone overhands the pad by about 1/2 inch. I was planning to get a picture frame type holder to prop up the pad so the phone can be easily viewed on my desk. With the phone being longer than the pad, it might not work as well as I wanted but I can probably still do it in landscape mode.
Has anyone had issues using the verizonwireless app after the 4g upgrade? Also, when I log into the my account through the we browser it says that my sim is in an unsupported device.
As of 3/25/2011 you can no longer download ANY content from Verizon Wireless. The "Media Center" no longer is supported. The phone has been marked obsolete. If you have an active Krave on Verizon it will remain fully supported. New or certifitd preowned Verizon Kraves that have not been activated will NOT be supported.
I noticed on my Razr that when I receive a new email I see the LED flash Green. When I get a Facebook or Gmail notice the LED flashes Blue. I have looked on the phone to try and see these settings for the LED color and cannot find a setting.
Is there somewhere to view/change this setting or is this just standard with the phone ?
My wife's Droid 4 makes a point of telling everyone what network she's using when the phone rings and when reconnecting after being in a dead spot. It's pretty annoyingI've been through all of the set up menus and can't figure out how to turn this off
How in the world do I get wifi to work? For instance, I have a wireless router here at home and I want to be able to lach on to the wireless network. Also, I was at a hotel that offered free wifi, how in the world can I automatically search without putting the network name so that the wifi network shows up? (you know, like when you have a laptop and you just click and it shows you all the available wifi connections you can connect too, I thought it would be the same for my cell phone). I travel so much so it will be almost impossible to always know the exact name of the network.
Is there any way to edit Verizon's firmware bundle so that their restrictions are released from it? I have the .bin for my Samsung, but it is not a monster flash and thus all the restrictions still apply to it when I try and edit in BitPim. Is there anyway to open the firmware file and edit Verizons restrictions out of it?
I have read stuff where people are doing this right now, and other posts saying it is impossible. I want the truth! I am ready to switch to Cricket anyways because I'm tired of paying $90 month for verizon when I can get the same stuff from Cricket for half, but I'm dreading both buying a Cricket phone and losing my Omnia (i900). I asked at the retail store if I got it unlocked could I use it since both are CDMA carriers and the guy didn't seem too informed. Also, another store rep told me that some markets were able to do that but my market (DC/Northern VA) would not support a verizon flashed phone. So what's the truth? If I get it unlocked can I get it to work on Cricket?
I worked for nTelos for a while and my company phone was a Samsung Showcase Galaxy S SCH-i500. My personal account is a Droid X with Verizon.
Is there a way to make the unbranded Samsung work on the Verizon network since it is a renamed Fascinate?
The other day while playing around with it I dialed *22807 and it went to Verizon's activation line but I am not getting my hopes up on anything right now.
My Girlfriends brother took her disconnected phone and flashed it to cricket, but I need it flashed back to verizon immediately. Can someone reply with a short step by step on how to do it? I am used to programming droids and not these non- smartphones but she needs it and is phoneless until I get this taken care of.
i mean phone the SCH-A870 /w { FW A870.AC15 HW A870.04 }on Cricket now enter the problem *228XX on this bugger is locked to the *22800/*228 code (i.e. Provider default) so no cheap & easy OTA ESN switch (one could'a hoped) So as it has been a few rigs(PC) since my XP Cdma box i made I'm stating from scrach on Win7 Home Prem x65. got the offical Drivers From samsungs page (god i wish moto was that easy to find) and wow BitPim 1.0.7 Offical {still looking for PST but thats more for me.
I've read this little hack apparently saves a lot of battery life (and it is abysmal right now), but I haven't read anything about what exactly this does. What are the pros (other than battery life) and cons of this change? Does it affect reception/signal strength? Any info is appreciated.
I'm a die-hard prepaid guy and would like to use this phone with P-Plus AND T-Mobile To Go.Both networks have questionable coverage in my area and would like a WiFi phone that could use both networks.Has any tried this?
I woke up this morning and my Sch-A930 keeps "leaving svc area", "searching svc area", "entering svc area" and doing the process all over again . It might stay iin svc all of 2 secs before it leaves again . I did notice every once in a while the phone would display that it is in "power save mode." I had someone try to call my phone and it went to voicemail so I know it is sill on . I cannot send/receive calls/text messages .
