I have a instinct that has a power button that doesn't work. I looked inside the phone and the mini ribbon with the 2 traces was damaged. Is there any way to replace that, or where to get a replacement ribbon?

View 2 Replies View RelatedA couple years ago my wife bought a Samsung Instinct M810. I flashed the phone to Verizon so she could use PagePlus. Everything has been working fine but the phone has really been beaten up. About the only thing that still works is the speed dial function.
A few days ago I found another Instinct in mint condition for her. I have been trying to flash it to Verizon with limited luck. I activated the phone with PagePlus and received a phone number ( I was planning on porting her number when I had everything working).The phone connects to Verizon but it can't connect to OTP. If I dial a number I get connected to Verizon with the message "Welcome to Verizon, unfortunately we cannot identify your phone, etc."
The problem is that when I dial *22890 (or any *228xx number)the signal bars vanish and there is an indicator showing no service and the call is dropped. After the call is dropped the signal returns and I can again connect to Verizon. I have tried several PRL's, even the one on my wife's current phone but it doesn't make any difference. I didn't have this much trouble with her other phone so I am at a loss.
If you use the setting to have the power button end a phone call, how do you turn the screen back on if it goes black during a phone conversation without ending the call?

Now the only issue I am having is registering my ESN to their network in order to use it. I am somewhat confused as to how I am supposed to do so. I called the customer service number provided on their web site and asked the young lady what I needed to do in order to use my phone on their network. She really didn't understand what I was asking, but she did promptly try to sell me a new package with a free phone. I need some clarification on this subject in order to finish the setting up of this phone.
I stopped at the part where you have to change your ESN:
"After changing your SPC code to six zeros "000000" and writing the new Cricket PRL on to the phone, do the ESN change through Cricket (ESN = Electronic Serial Number)". I want my daughter to be able to use this phone since it has given me such good service since I have had it for almost a year. I know they do work on the Cricket network because I have done my research, but I need some input from those of you who have inside information on how the process works with the activation of the phone.
I honestly love the phone. I think it'd a great change to having used the LG G4 and past Galaxy phones.I have this issue though and I'm not sure if it's a big issue or if it's common. Sometimes when I press the power button the screen doesn't wake up until I press the power button a second time. Almost as if it didn't recognize the first press and did the second. It's only happened about 2-3 times in the last 2 days I've had it. I don't know if it's that I am not pushing the button hard enough or if this is a common issue? I thought I had seen something about this somewhere else but I can't find that post/article anymore. Should I get the device replaced? I am on T-mobile BTW.

The MEID is clean so I don't believe it to be stolen. My problem is, how do I remove the password? I've tried for hours entering random 4 digit passwords and nothing so far. I ended up buying a data cable for the phone but I can't seem to get the phone to load/connect with Vista, be it a driver issue, or because the phone is locked.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've had some problems with my X10 lately. Admittedly this was after a full-on day in the Scottish Highlands where the phone was exposed to cold and rain. Getting back into a warm car the phone started going mental, the led lights flashing like a Christmas party disco and the vibrate constantly on. After a session on the radiator I got some life out of the phone. It basically works except for the following:
- the top left power button to standby/turn the phone off does nothing (the phone switches itself on when you put the battery in)
- same for the bottom middle button to standby, although it will bring the main desktop up.
- the red led light is on permanently (this is so annoying)
I have re-flashed Gingerbread and had the phone on charge for hour upon hour to no avail. I have installed a free widget that puts the phone on standby but I can't power it down without taking the batter out.
getting the power button working and telling me if there's a way (hardware or software) to get the red LED light to go out (this means that any messages/missed calls reders the green light inoperative)

My iPhone 4 has turned off, which seems to be a common problem. Everything I can find says to hold the power/lock screen button + the home button together, along with a combination of plugging it into the computer/ wall, etc. Unfortunately my power button stopped working ages ago (another common problem it seems), so that method of restarting my phone is out. Aside from the power button issue the phone is in pristine condition, the LCI's are normal, no scratches or cracks. I'm not in a place where I can easily obtain another phone and need it for work purposes,

I have been using google and this forum's seach feature to try to get the answer to my question, but I've read different things and ended up confused.First of all, I have unlocked my Spring Samsung and uploaded the 01040 Cricket PRL and it seems to be working because when I dial 611 I get a message from Cricket. Over the air programming doesn't seem to work when dialing *228, and from reading threads I am guessing I will have to do it manually.I am confused as to at what step do I call Cricket Customer service to get some info I need. I am trying to save him a few dollars as he has a lot on his plate with his mortgage and all. I owned an Instinct at one time so I am familiar with the "debug menu" etc. I am also pretty tech savvy and am always tweaking my devices...however have never flashed a phone. It's my Girlfriend's old phone, and she says it's around a year and 2 months old, so it's out of warranty (Assuming the warrranty is a year)
Thinking it was a software issue, I took the battery out and put it back in again, but now the phone won't turn on, as said button is not working.
My Nokia Lumia 1520 power button has suddenly stopped working. Things I have already tried are soft reset and hard reset without luck. I don't have the chive app installed which was supposed to cause this issue sometime ago. Also, I can do a soft reset - which means the power button works in some situations, just not with normal on/off operation.

Today, I was going to back up my phone but my battery went flat before I could do this and now I cant get the phone back on!! What did I do?I decided to open up the phone and tried to do this, (at 4:30 is what I did)[URL]It basically shows a guy who bonded a very very small washer to the bottom of the power button. I tried this and it didn't work, probably because my washer was a was too big, i filed it down a bit, still didn't work, so I just put it back together, i noticed a few things:After Reassembly, this happened: power button still does not work, and doesn't "click"iPhone camera app shutter does not open and the bottom right "camera/video" icons just flicker, I've concluded this is because of the front camera not working.the ear speaker for phone calls is now "crackly".I noticed my WiFi and network signal isn't as strong, maybe a bar less on WiFi and a bar or 2 less on network.
Temporary solutions:A walk around camera fix is that i installed "camera plus pro" and this allows me to take photos and video.
