have a Charm MB502. According to Motorola's specs this phone supports CDMA.How do I put the phone into CDMA mode? It keeps asking for a SIM card, and CDMA networks don't use SIM cards
steps are listed below for verizon customers only with 4G Devices with " ICS or Jelly Bean "
how to switch from 4G to CDMA mode verizon devices.
For whatever reason, Verizon and Motorola have removed the option under Mobile Network Settings to switch to "CDMA Only" in the Ice Cream Sandwich update that is headed to RAZRs over the next few days. For anyone that doesn't have a RAZR MAXX, this is a problem, as LTE destroys batteries faster than you can charge them. In place of the former "CDMA Only" option is a "Global" feature for those that travel the world. Why they didn't leave the old option and simply add "Global" to the list is a great mystery, but don't worry, we have a way to get you onto 3G and saving batteries in just a few steps.
My friend has a Motorola Charm but the internet on it is broken. Before she gets it replaced she wants to back up text messages of her husband who is no longer alive.I don't own this phone so not sure where to start but is there anyway to back up the text messages via a USB cable?
How can I select highest resolution on automatic mode and scenes mode? It looks like some inportant function is missing. The creative mode is really hard to use. I perfer automatic and scenes mode which is easiler for me but I want it to be the best resolution is there any way because I couldn't find the setting?
I've read this little hack apparently saves a lot of battery life (and it is abysmal right now), but I haven't read anything about what exactly this does. What are the pros (other than battery life) and cons of this change? Does it affect reception/signal strength? Any info is appreciated.
I just purchased an unlocked Moto Charm to use with a maxroam prepaid sim for a trip. Upon turing off and on a few time the first day, my phone had sent 15 sms to 122. This is a huge problem because I am being charged $0.49 for each sms. Can anyone tell me why the phone is doing this and how to stop it?
While my phone is asleep (or whatever you call it) it keeps lighting up about every 3 min. for about 2 seconds and then it goes out. There are no new notifications or anything it has just been recently doing this for the past week. Is it an app or setting that I was unaware of that I have done?? How can I get it to stop??
As it turns out I only have 100mb of internal memory available to install apps. My biggest concern with the Charm was that the advertised 512mb wouldn't be enough and because it has Android 2.1 I wouldn't be able to install on SD Card either.
Not boot up as normal. The farthest I can get is --ROM Manager removed-- recovery screen which was installed by a friend. How do I flash the original settings and system for the device using a pc?
I got the Charm late last week and this Tuesday, and Wednesday, it dropped one call each day. I had restarted the phone and even took the battery out, let it sit a minute, put it back in and restart. Today, after dropping a call, I called Tmobile for help. Ended up talking to a manager because the service person wouldn't help me. While on the phone with manager, phone dropped a call. He had me change the SIM card. I went to call hubby (we both got the Charm same day) to have him change his card also, got to voicemail, dropped call, tried Tmobile, half a ring, dropped call. Got to customer service, they switched me to Tier 2 tech support, he was about to give me directions and dropped call. He ended up leaving me a voicemail because he tried calling me back twice and both times it went straight to voicemail. Told me to change the settings from 3G to 2G. I've only used the phone around 15 minutes since switching to 2G but it didnt drop.
On every single other Android phone, I plug in the usb then select mount and IU can read and wirte to my card. On this, I connect the usb select memory card and have READ ONLY permissions!!!! this is unacceptable! Please tell me there is a way to write to my phone
are there any good apps that work for the charm to watch movies or tv?? i know there is a Internet app but are there any other inexpensive ways to watch tv or movies?
So yesterday with almost every phone call I made, my charm would call the person I was talking to while I was talking to them and put the current line on hold..Today it is not doing that, but for the time being it was really inconvenient.
I just bought a Charm with Motoblur, and the phone works great. The only problem is that I can't use my calendar because it requires me to sync to gmail (or whatever) to use it, to sync a calendar from the internet or something. However, I do not have wifi connection on my phone, and do not wish to get it. I just want to use my calendar without having to connect to the internet in any way. Is there some way around this synchronization? Is there something I can download and move to my phone so I don't have to sync with anything via wifi?
I think I skipped the motoblur registration when I switched my charm for first time. Even if I did enter something,I am sure I did not register my device as there was no internet connection available on phone. I donot find any option to create the motoblur account through my device. How to create Motoblur account for my device?? I have tried restore to default factory settings but it didnot ask for motoblur registration on startup.
This phone had only been charged and working for about 10ish hours when I was trying to sync my phone to my car. During the process I accidentally brushed the turn bluetooth off button and since then it will not turn back on. I touch the turn bluetooth on button and it fades out and says turning bluetooth on but then comes back and bluetooth is still off. I have yet to download anything at all for the phone
So, I got this Motorola Charm about a week ago and about 2-3 days ago when it would blackout to lock the screen sometimes it would not turn back on. I would try to unlock on it, I even held the power button to turn it off if possible but it did not budge. The soultion to this was removing the battery out and putting it back in. How do I fix this from happening over and over again.
I just got my CHARM, but I was wondering where I can change the update(push) time ? Is there a way? And why it is not notifying when somebody comments my status, picture, poke and stuff like that?
There is no pre-installed Fm radio on my Motorola Charm, though it there in the specifications. How can I play fm radio on my Charm without any internet streaming? Is there any android application which works in doing so?
after purchasing a charm with motoblur last week, i was able to set up my motoblur account through wi-fi, send and receive messages as tests to make sure the phone was working through providers at&t and t-mobile (because i had unlocked and inserted an existing british simcard on the network "3"). i opted to not enter the browser/marketplace due to the price of roaming abroad.after travelling back to the uk today, i was able to make a couple of calls and around twenty sms's with no problems whatsoever, but as i was not roaming abroad any more, i tried the browser, marketplace, maps and Internet. none of these worked due to the network state being disconnected, despite being connected to the provider "3" (found going through settings>status>network connection state: disconnected). thus when returning home, i hunted around the internet on the computer to find a way for browsing to return, just in case i'd by accident declined something earlier in the week. i came upon the "master reset / factory data reset" page on the website: https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/49373/~/charm---master-reset-%2f-factory-data-reset
after following these instructions, the phone reset. ok. then, when going back through the welcome/getting started intro to the phone, there was still a failure of network connection, and any wi-fi connections with the correct password entered always ended in "wrong password entered," or it ignored the previous password and a vicious circle of correct password after correct password began.
