Samsung :: CDMA Workshop Not Recognizing The Device
Feb 11, 2010My laptop is Vista. It recognizes the Samsung as a modem but the CDMA workshop wont read neither does any program it seems it doesn't recognize it as a phone. I am trying to flash it to metro what do I need?

Jul 19, 2011I've lost the 4 digit user selected security lock code which is required to reset the phone.Virgin says Samsung should help recover the code and Samsung says Virgin should help recover the code.A while back, I found a code on the web that allowed me to go into a service menu which listed among other things the lock code. I can't find any information on how to get back into that menu.
By the way, yes, I tried the last 4 digits of the phone number, 0000, 9999, 1234.If anyone knows how to get into the service menu on this phone
The only codes I've found so far are:##786# which gets into an info menu but doesn't have the lock code.##33284# which requires a 6-digit security code which I don't know.
Samsung :: Way Around The $199 Moment ?
Feb 27, 2010Ok thinking about pulling the trigger to get the Moment and have a $150 credit to get the moment..The phone is $99 however looks like online will charge me $199 and with a mail in rebate for $100.. IS there any way around this? I'm always skeptical about sending in rebates.

Feb 10, 2010I dropped my newly bought Samsung Moment and the screen glass cracked . The phone is still working perfectly fine. I searched through the whole web but cannot find any instructions on how to replace the glass. There are many for iphones though. I bought one digitizer from ebay and plan to do it myself. I sent questions to the seller on ebay and ask him to ask his other buyers for me. But he directed me to this forum.
(1)Do you know where I can find some instructions? I searched on the web but only found those for iphones.
(2)If there are no instructions, can you tell me what you think important to me?
(3)How to start? I am not seeing any screws anywhere!
(4)How to remove the keyboard from the screen? Do I need to remove it?
(5) Can I just remove the screen from the front, or do I need to start from the back, and get to the screen layer by layer?
Samsung :: Moment - WiFi Doesnt Work
Feb 25, 2010I just got a Samsung Moment. Previous phone, a Palm Pre, connected to my WiFi without a single problem. Just typed in the password once and from then on it never gave me trouble. But the Moment wouldn't work with WiFi at all for the longest time. It would see the network and let me type in the password, but the WiFi status would always say "Disconnected" and there was never an icon in the notification area. Finally I managed to get it working by switching my router from mixed mode to 802.11g only (it's a combination DSL modem/router, made by Actiontec, with 802.11b and 802.11g). Now it seems to work perfectly. I was just wondering if anyone else had similar problems, perhaps with mixed mode g/n? Maybe it's just my router, but I'm curious. At least I didn't have to make any sacrifices other than disabling 802.11b, which I don't need anyway.

Mar 11, 2010I got Bitpim to recognize the serial and modem ports for Samsung as available but,when I try to goto file system with the serial port, it shows the folder icon as open but it doesn't do anything. I tried to use "Other CDMA Phone" for detection. If I try the Modem port, it says "Retrieving." like it's attempting to open it but, soon, it stops and is in the same spot as the serial port.

May 22, 2010I have an SCH-U440, also known as Gloss, from US Cellular. I have done some digging online, but CDMA codes seem hard to come by. Ideally, I would like to know how to edit the "sms mo so" setting so I could change it to 13k instead of 8k, as has been mentioned in various material I have found. Of course, I'm not sure if this is possible, but if it is not, is there some alternative?
Secondly, tonight, I managed to breach this phone's 70 or 72ish inbox limit by having lots and lots of picture messages. I got it up to 117 when I decided to delete all the messages and see if the new limit had been set, as was suggested to work for certain Samsung models on another site. This does not seem to be the case, as I am back at 72.

May 17, 2010finesse, sch-r810 that will respond at all. i lost web and wap after flashing, called metropcs after a few weeks, and lost voice service moments after that. service could not be found, thought i'd just flash again. a problem occurred that left my phone with no filesystem (i assume), and now i dont think anything is seeing my phone (com ports inactive). ive tried the well knowns that google would offer, bitpim, qpst, qdxm, p2k, multiloader and others, as well as plenty of non-samsung software that i thought/hoped might work (unipst, optiflash, others). just this evening i downloaded sdk tools and weird 'unlock sim' 'secret zone' softwares, nothing.
i actually recorded the processes, both computer and phone screens (desktop capture+webcam). planned an upload to Internet, but would like a solution/tip to accompany the problem. thats why the cdma request, or any software that can access qualcomm chipsets, or similar/usable characteristic. my model seems replaced to have been by newer samsung phones, though if the internals are similar, i'd like to express that to others.
administrators: i did post this just a minute ago in the metropcs forum first, by mistake. ive got a thousand tabs open and didnt notice until after the 'submit', if youre going to remove one, do that one please. its not in a general place and i didnt quickly see how to delete. thanks.
