I am switching from a Blackberry to the Samsung moment, does anybody know how to get your contacts from the blackberry to the moment? I have my contacts backed up with the blackberry software on my computer but I am not sure how to get the on to the Samsung because I am hearing there is no desktop software.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI dropped my newly bought Samsung Moment and the screen glass cracked . The phone is still working perfectly fine. I searched through the whole web but cannot find any instructions on how to replace the glass. There are many for iphones though. I bought one digitizer from ebay and plan to do it myself. I sent questions to the seller on ebay and ask him to ask his other buyers for me. But he directed me to this forum.
(1)Do you know where I can find some instructions? I searched on the web but only found those for iphones.
(2)If there are no instructions, can you tell me what you think important to me?
(3)How to start? I am not seeing any screws anywhere!
(4)How to remove the keyboard from the screen? Do I need to remove it?
(5) Can I just remove the screen from the front, or do I need to start from the back, and get to the screen layer by layer?
I just got a Samsung Moment. Previous phone, a Palm Pre, connected to my WiFi without a single problem. Just typed in the password once and from then on it never gave me trouble. But the Moment wouldn't work with WiFi at all for the longest time. It would see the network and let me type in the password, but the WiFi status would always say "Disconnected" and there was never an icon in the notification area. Finally I managed to get it working by switching my router from mixed mode to 802.11g only (it's a combination DSL modem/router, made by Actiontec, with 802.11b and 802.11g). Now it seems to work perfectly. I was just wondering if anyone else had similar problems, perhaps with mixed mode g/n? Maybe it's just my router, but I'm curious. At least I didn't have to make any sacrifices other than disabling 802.11b, which I don't need anyway.

However I can't find if the moment supports SPP or HID profiles. I know HID support isn't in android yet, but I saw this, http://i-miss-erin.blogspot.com/2009.n-android.html ,and realized that possibility I might be able to add HID support myself? So does anyone know what profiles are supported?

Whenever I tap on Voice cmds there is a beep and a popup appears, saying "Voice commands cannot be used at the moment".I can see that Martin is present in the Phone Setup speech settings and that he is ready to speak in English (UK).

View 19 Replies View RelatedLove the phone - just got a really irritating problem. I've synced my phone with my gmail account - the My Contacts list has my key contact email addresses. Then I have multiple groups within gmail account relating to work emails etc, nearly 500 odd.
On the phone, when I click my 'Contacts' button, initially it showed all my phone number contacts, as well all google email contacts mixed with them. I corrected this by going to 'display options' to select 'display only contacts with phone numbers', so that I didn't have to trawl through random email addresses mixed with my proper phone contacts. Great, sorted.
But, when I go to compose a text message - if it is to one or two specific contacts it is fine...I just type their name and it comes up. If I want to scroll through all my phone contacts to send the same message to multiple contacts, big problem - I press that envelope button in the top right corner next to 'enter recipient', and it takes me to the Contacts list, but here it still shows ALL 600 odd contacts with phone contacts still mixed with google email contacts, which is impossible to scroll through and select multiple people to send a text message to....Does anyone know how to sort this out?!??!
Ok, so when I am in the compose message view I start typing a name to send a message to and the phone shows me all numbers for that contact, even if I deleted that number... for example say my contact Lewis upgrades and gets a new number, I edit his contact, deleting the old number and replacing it with the new. Then when I type LEW into the compose message "to" section it shows all numbers ever stored under that name, if you know what I mean..? So i am typing someones name getting multiple numbers even if they only have 1 number to there name.This also seems to be the case if someone registers a number to FB and I overwrite that number with a new number

I don't want every fb 'friend' to appear in my phonebook, so how on earth do I do this so that it's not going to delete them all each day. I have this same problem with both of them.When I go into Email and try to pull up the list of my contacts I can only see about 7 of my 50 contacts. The screen will not scroll to display all the contacts.It first was not working on my wife's phone. I checked it on my phone and it was working when I first tried it but it stopped working as I was testing the scrolling function. Now neither phone will scroll so you can see all your contacts.
