Samsung :: Sprint Moment Bluetooth Profiles

I am trying to decide between the HTC hero and the Samsung Moment for sprint. The main thing I want is to pair a bluetooth keyboard with it. However I can't find if the moment supports SPP or HID profiles. I know HID support isn't in android yet, but I saw this, http://i-miss-erin.blogspot.com/2009.n-android.html ,and realized that possibility I might be able to add HID support myself? So does anyone know what profiles are supported?

Ok thinking about pulling the trigger to get the Moment and have a $150 credit to get the moment..The phone is $99 however looks like online will charge me $199 and with a mail in rebate for $100.. IS there any way around this? I'm always skeptical about sending in rebates.

I am switching from a Blackberry to the Samsung moment, does anybody know how to get your contacts from the blackberry to the moment? I have my contacts backed up with the blackberry software on my computer but I am not sure how to get the on to the Samsung because I am hearing there is no desktop software.

I dropped my newly bought Samsung Moment and the screen glass cracked . The phone is still working perfectly fine. I searched through the whole web but cannot find any instructions on how to replace the glass. There are many for iphones though. I bought one digitizer from ebay and plan to do it myself. I sent questions to the seller on ebay and ask him to ask his other buyers for me. But he directed me to this forum.
(1)Do you know where I can find some instructions? I searched on the web but only found those for iphones.
(2)If there are no instructions, can you tell me what you think important to me?
(3)How to start? I am not seeing any screws anywhere!
(4)How to remove the keyboard from the screen? Do I need to remove it?
(5) Can I just remove the screen from the front, or do I need to start from the back, and get to the screen layer by layer?

I just got a Samsung Moment. Previous phone, a Palm Pre, connected to my WiFi without a single problem. Just typed in the password once and from then on it never gave me trouble. But the Moment wouldn't work with WiFi at all for the longest time. It would see the network and let me type in the password, but the WiFi status would always say "Disconnected" and there was never an icon in the notification area. Finally I managed to get it working by switching my router from mixed mode to 802.11g only (it's a combination DSL modem/router, made by Actiontec, with 802.11b and 802.11g). Now it seems to work perfectly. I was just wondering if anyone else had similar problems, perhaps with mixed mode g/n? Maybe it's just my router, but I'm curious. At least I didn't have to make any sacrifices other than disabling 802.11b, which I don't need anyway.

My wife and I are looking to switch to Sprint and she is interested in the Samsung Moment. I have read many reviews where the complaint is the short battery life. Most of the reviews are older and I'm wondering if the phones with the newer firmware and 2.1 installed have a better battery life.I appreciate anyone with a Moment running 2.1 provide feedback on the battery life.

When my Bionic connects to my car's audio system, it utilizes both the Phone and Media profiles (as found on the "Connect to..." screen). As such, I can use the phone handsfree (which is great, of course) and the phone can stream music to my car's audio system (which is OK, but not something I really use).Problem is, if I use Google Maps for driving directions or Trapster, I cannot hear any of the phone's output unless I leave my audio system on bluetooth. That means I cannot listen to the radio/CD, etc.The "Connect to..."screen shows checkboxes for the two active profiles. Yet, when I deselect the Media profile, it shows as deselected for a second or so and then automatically reselects itself.So, it appears that there is no way to force the phone to stick only to the Phone profile and ignore the fact that the car supports other profiles.

I have been using google and this forum's seach feature to try to get the answer to my question, but I've read different things and ended up confused.First of all, I have unlocked my Spring Samsung and uploaded the 01040 Cricket PRL and it seems to be working because when I dial 611 I get a message from Cricket. Over the air programming doesn't seem to work when dialing *228, and from reading threads I am guessing I will have to do it manually.I am confused as to at what step do I call Cricket Customer service to get some info I need. I am assisting a good friend of mine with flashing his Instinct to Metro. His Instinct went down and he bought another on ebay. I am trying to save him a few dollars as he has a lot on his plate with his mortgage and all. I owned an Instinct at one time so I am familiar with the "debug menu" etc. I am also pretty tech savvy and am always tweaking my devices...however have never flashed a phone. after arguing with sprint for hours and trying to "legally" get PAM added to my account with no avail, i got tired of arguing and hung up and decided to see if i could get around it on a BB while still having a decent plan.well you can.
These instructions are at your own risk, and while i was able to do it to both a curve and a pearl, and im assuming since all BB's are about the same it should work on the tour and 8830, it's at your own risk.
I am not posting this from my normal username, as it's a little risky for me to do so so please know that i've had plenty of posts on here and been around since '04 Ok so here goes.Step 1: Install QPST 2.7 build 215 (this is very important, no other one will work, find it yourself )
Step 2: Obtain your MSL/SPC from Sprint (if you dont already have it)Step 3: Get your PowerVision Username (if you dont know it, you can do ##xxxxxx and press call from the homescreen x=msl/spc, it's the [URL] in the list)Step 4: Start BBDM and QPST Configuration at the same time, then once you add the port to QPST, selct "Service Programming" from the drop down menu.
Step 5: Select your phone in the list, dont worry it will act like it doesnt know the chipset model, select SURF6300 BB from the list and say OK
Step 6: go to the MIP tab Step 7: Create a new MIP profile that looks just like this (except in the NAI and Tethered NAI, you'll enter your PV username) -- once you're done you will have two profiles, the first one im assuming is for provisioning and i wouldnt mess with it.
Step 8: click "OK" then "write to phone", it will give an error about the model changing on com X, do you want to close the connection?, say NO it will write anyway, then you will get another error about the phone not responding.. that's because it rebooted.Step 9: once the phone reboots, create a manual DUN connection (i assume if you're on here and understand how to use PST you can make a DUN connection ) with the connection as follows:

When I record in HD, every 3-4-5 seconds are cut for a moment, I preinstall from your site all, restart phone, 4,5gb free on card, but problem. Sometimes when make foto in 8,1 megapixel (high level) phone write me a message no memory, close some applications but there are not opened aplications.

I have added the Voice cmds shortcut to a home screen as advised on another thread, to allow voice commands to be used after updating the E7-00 to Belle. Whenever I tap on Voice cmds there is a beep and a popup appears, saying "Voice commands cannot be used at the moment".I can see that Martin is present in the Phone Setup speech settings and that he is ready to speak in English (UK).

Whether I should get the Samsung Corby phone or not. I saw the wep490 Bluetooth and it makes want to buy them together. They say that wep490 will change to wep495 in an In-earphone form next year. Is In-earphone Bluetooth comfortable to use? Or is regular ear phone Bluetooth more comfortable?

I've had my Captivate for a week and love it. I do need help please? I listen to about 4 hours of podcast every day. When I turn on the media player and start to listen to a podcast, the sound fades out after about a minute. This is the same headset that worked for almost 2 years on my at&t Fuze. It works great for phone calls. I tried the default media player and DoggCatcher, but that didn't work either, so I'm thinking it's a setting. I've played with any setting I can find in the Bluetooth area, there aren't many.Any help would be appreciated. I believe this is a failure of the A2DP? My work permits me to listen to music & podcasts, but doesn't let me use a corded headset, so this is a deal breaker for me and I love this phone. Even my hubby, who never notices phones, admires the vibrant display and actually asked to see the OS! I'm converting him

I purchased an Iogear USB Micro Adapter Model GBU421WM to try and transfer things from my computer to the phone.After updating the Bluetooth software and trying several times to pair my phone with my computer nothing would happen. It would sit with the serial number window up even after I typed the serial number in several times.I have tried making the phone see the computer and vice versa, and nothing has worked yet. Yet it does know the phone is there and the phone talks to the computer. Just pairing will not occur.So my question is: Is it even possible or am I missing something to make my phone/computer talk through Bluetooth.I have a StraightTalk Samsung R451C Phone.

I just replaced my Motorola V710 with a Samsung Convoy.One feature of the V710 that I used regularly was Bluetooth DUN to connect my PDA for web/email access.The DUN profile is in the Convoy, the devices connect and make the call, but at connection the phone resets-and my provider tells me that's because Verizon wants you to pay for an extra data paln for this!

My sons SGH-F490V has a bluetooth issue with a TomTom One V3.Both will see each other via bluetooth but will not connect 'Tomtom to Samsung' or 'Samsung to Tomtom', yet my SE C510 has no prob.The Samsung model is not listed with Tomtom.Any clues of how to overcome this, updates or patches for TomTom?
