Jul 6, 2010I just purchased a Samsung Omnia II/2 (GT-I8000). It is loaded with Windows Mobile 6.5 (non-English). Where can I download the English version of the ROM? Also, how do I wipe the current ROM and install the English version?

Jan 1, 2010Perhaps I'm just not using the right search keywords, but all the instructions I find aren't working. Mostly because my phone doesn't seem to have the same lines that everyone else is listing.
For example, I typically see this -

For MMS, I have these from my E635 as well.

Then, trying to follow another's step-by-step instructions, I'm still having trouble following along. Here's my step-by-step to the point that I get lost. Open Menu, tap Settings, tap Messaging, scroll down to Messaging Settings, tap Multimedia Message, tap MMS Profiles... and this is where it gets confusing for me. Whether I try to edit one of the preset profiles, or add my own, these are the lines I'm offered to work with:
editing the MEdia Net profile -
Set Name
Access Name
Auth Type
User ID
Password (user ID and PW aren't able to be edited in this profile)
Protocol (either HTTP or WAP)
Home URL
Proxy Address
Linger Time (sec.)
Advanced Settings
And in the Adv Settings, I have -
Static IP (to check, or unckeck, a box)
Local Phone IP (not highlighted, ie, able to be edited)
Static DNS (to check, or uncheck, a box)
Server 1
Server 2 (neither server lines are able to be edited in this profile)
Traffic Class (down arrow sellection, with Subscribed as the only selection available)
And in adding a new profile, everything that was previously unable to be edited, can now be: User ID, Password, Static IP #, and Servers 1 & 2 #'s. I've tried every combination of URLs that I could find:
Home URL - http://216.155.174.84/servelts/mms
Homepage URL - Homepage URL: http://wap.myvoicestream.com
Along with every combination of IP #s that I could find:

10.168.200.50
And I'm striking out everywhere. I'm hoping someone understands the babble I've typed in here, and can make sense enough of this to be able to help me. I don't care about getting on the internet with the phone (no data plan), but I just want to be able to send/receive pics and videos.

Apr 24, 2012I updated my SG2 to ICS v4.0.3 last night, and everything went smoothly with no problems to report. Apart from the fact the install seemed to delete 2 of my 3 email accounts that were set up 1 Hotmail account and 1 AOL account.I've set up the Hotmail account no problem, but for some reason I just cannot get the AOL one set up. I input my email address and password and it progresses to the 'retrieving information' screen but then I keep getting the error message Sign in incorrect - The attempt to sign in failed due to an invalid User Name, Password or incorrect settings. Please check blah blah blah....try again blah blah blah Now I've sucessfully logged in to the email account via the internet (just in case I was been a numpty and entering the incorrect password) and the details are all correct. I've even tried changing my password on-line then logging in again on my phone with the new one, but I still get the smae error message. I never had this problem at all with Gingerbread.

May 20, 2012I woke up this morning and the media scan was running at 0%, first of all i didnt think much of it so i just left it. A few hours later I heard my phone was dying so I went to put it on charge and noticed that the media scan was still running. so i turned it off, waited a few mins then turned it back on, just in case it needed a bit of a kick up the backside. Once I had turned it back on I just left it on charge while I went to do things. went back to it a little while later and it hardly charged at all and the media scan was still at 0%. I uninstalled a few apps - nothing changed, tried connecting to kies via usb and nothing as it was still scanning. The phone itself is is very hot at the top behind the camera, it's not charging properly and I havent been able to back anything up - I just hope everything is stored on my sdcard.

After several years with Verizon we are really excited about starting new accounts with Page Plus. Can someone here help us set up these phones or at least point us in the right direction. We know next to nothing in this area. I am fairly good at building and servicing computers, but I have never done anything on a phone.
Here are some of my questions:
1. Can we get the GPS to work with Page plus on this Samsung Omnia I910? And if yes, how?
2. Can we get the Internet to work with Page plus on this Samsung Omnia I910? And if yes, how?
3. Can we get at least one of our Verizon phone numbers transferred over to Page Plus, and if yes, how?
4. Should we update our OS [I think it is Windows 6.1 Mobile Pro] and if so, how?
5. How do you recommend we set up this phone? Are there like any special tweaks or mods that are cool yet do not alter the stability of the phone?
6. Is Windows Mobile Pro 6.1 any good [we both had Windows Mobile 5 on our VX 6700's and it was ok, but often very slow and crashed a lot too at times]?
7. Could you please be nice to us [it is our very first time here and we are totally excited about setting these new Samsung Omnia i-910's up right the first time.

Jan 24, 2010Since upgrading to Version 5.0.1 neither the media manger nor blackberry media synch now work. the media manager always prompts to install and downloads but then does nothing. The blackberry media sync gets so far after launch the gives an error message. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling a number of times but cannot get the media manager to install so cannot now get any media off my phone or on to it. Any ideas anyone?

Jul 31, 2010I have Storm (9500) and I've been trying for a few hours to transfer photos from my media card to my PC. Every time I connect to Media Sync with my Storm, I receive a messages saying my device is not recognised and to make sure the card is inserted correctly etc. here is what I have done and I still receive the same message -
Taken out the media card and reinserted it
Taken out the battery and reinserted it
turned all the settings in (Options Memory) to on
Auto Enable Mass Sttorage Mode when Connected is set to Yes
Tried connecting to all USB ports on the PC ( I have 4)
PC OS is Windows 7
I've checked for all possible updates on BlackBerry Software (Device and Desktop and Media Sync) I have a completely updates Storm in terms of Software.

Jul 29, 2011Last night I bought two CDs on line. i downloaded them to my computer and plugged in my phone to download to the phone. Media link started up and downloaded every CD on the computer before I could stop it. (I had selected only the new CD's in media link) I had to go into my music and delete everything that was duplicated. Then I discovered that my playlists were all empty. I had gone though all of my music and put all songs in playlists. Now I had to do it again!! I thought I was all fixed up and discovered this morning that all 1,290 photos from my computer were loaded onto my phone as well. DO NOT leave media link on your computer. I'm removing it when I get home and I'll start doing the old copy/paste routine. Motorola should send warnings about Media Link to all customers.
