i'm new to this so i appoligize if i have posted this in the wrong place. I have a samsung rugby 2 (sgh-A847m) that was a bell phone I'm trying to setup web and mms. I have APN settings but the problem is There is nowhere to put in the port setting.I had it sending photos at one point even though the phone was telling me the message was not sent but cannot receive any mms.
View 1 Repliestoday I picked up a rough looking Bold 9000 and swapped in my spare parts onto it. The catch is, it was a Bell phone. I already unlocked it and it states it is on rogers network now. I don't want the Bell logo/wallpapers to load upon startup, so I though by installing FW Version 5.0.1626 from the blackberry Rogers download page it would fix it.The software update just finished(about 10-15 min) and I see a bell background and bell startup logo. Should the Rogers FW change this over? or are the bell wallpapers/startup logo's programmed into the phone itself and NOT the FW?I don't want to remove the Logo completely, I just rather have it say ROGERS like my old BB and have all the rogers software/configuration.

I have called Fido 3 times and they can't seem to do anything. They gave me their APN settings and I have input them manually and still no data.

I've unlocked it successfully and can place a roaming AT&T sim card (3G version) into it and it works perfect.The moment I put a Bell sim card into, I get a no sim present error message. Same thing happens on a Mobilicity sim (although I expected them to remain in EDGE roaming due to the phones radio ability)? why a regular Bell 3G sim card won't work in this phone? Any special additional unlock I need to do maybe?I got two codes for my unlock- a Network Unlock, and a Service Provider unlock. I only had to use the Network code to make the AT&T roaming sim work.

The pictures in the posting all showed it unlocked, connected to Rogers etc and the phone is exactly as shown in the posting based on the nicks/marks on it. However, when I boot it up I am faced with a passcode. I've tried the standard 0000, 1234, 12345, 00000 etc but no luck. I've also messaged the seller but have not received a reply as yet.

I tried some admin codes to enter service menus but they dont seem to work. my phone is currently locked to rogers.I dont have a data plan or need one. it has wifi so i can still connect to the net. View 1 Replies View Relatedlast month, I inherited an LG-C900B (BELL) as my buddy had upgraded to an HTC TITAN Windows Phone. As I was frustrated with my force closing, stuck on Android 2.2, HTC Desire I decided to give WP a chance.
We unlocked the SIM from my TELUS HTC Desire and everything worked great. MMS, text, data, wifi, etc. Last week, I suddenly lost the ability to receive MMS messages from outside of the TELUS network. After a few days of troubleshooting and working with TELUS support, I'm at a loss.
I've done the following:
1. Reset my phone.
2. Downloaded the LG Network App to setup all my APN, Proxy IP, and MMSC settings automatically. (I did this last month when I was setting up my phone as well).
3. Upgraded my phone to the latest version available 7.10.8773.98.
I've also gained access to the MFG app to check my config.xml and to see what my network profile showed.
Current network profile: TLS_CA_302_220_ENG.xml
AlwaysON options: ON
Proxy enable options: OFF
Auto update options: ON
All of the following values are hard coded into the config.xml file after running the LG Network Setup App for TELUS 302-220.
APN: sp . telus . com
Proxy: 74.49.0.19
Port:80
MMSC: (aliasredirect.net/proxy/mmsc)
Has something changed? Funny when I go to aliasredirect.net t it comes up with a place holder page. Not sure if that's related or not.
I just got the Samsung T746 - does anyone know how to turn off the keytone beep every time I touch the screen? I can't find anything in the software and the manual is useless! Otherwise a GREAT phone!

View 15 Replies View RelatedFeeling can't get unlocked in a short time, so I return my Bell Galaxy S to future shop yesterday. Before return, of course, I reset it to factory setting. But after that, when I tried the GPS, it won't work well.If you do a Google search "galaxy s gps issue", you'll find quite a few complaining about the US version of galaxy s gps problem. But not sure our Bell version could have the same issue too?Here are my steps to reproduce the problem:
1) Do a factory reset.
2) manually delete some directories in the internal SD, since the factory reset didn't do it.
3) dial "*#*#1472365#*#*", it will take u to the GPS debug mode. Tap the "get position", it will try to connect gps and calculate the position.Before resetting, it was quite fast, in 5-10 seconds it will give you the position info.But after resetting, the position info never shown, though at the bottom those satellites info still shown (about 8 of them shown). But very strange, the position info not come out.
4) So I tried reset to factory setting again. then try step 3).Still the same result.
I was wondering if any dir/file was deleted by me in the internal SD which could be the cause of the gps issue? But it's not logical. First the the "factory resetting" is suppose to do everything it needs to set it to original state (I did two resetting). Second, I guess those system apps are installed in the internal flash memory, instead of internal SD.But as those satellites info still there, so I assume the hardware still working, while it could be something wrong with the testing software?And I didn't try other GPS apps, like map or navigon. I don't want to set everything up since I reset it for return.Though, I really like galaxy s, and thinking of get it again once 3rd part unlock is available. But this GPS issue really worries me.So folks, could you please try the same thing and test the GPS. If more people can reproduce it, then it will be real problem, though I hope mine is the special case?
I am thinking of either buy the phone from T-mobile or Bell Canada. T-mobile phone that is unlocked can work on AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Fido, Telus and T-Mobile and WindMobile. Tmobile version on the samsung vibrant doesn't have front facing camera.Bell version of Samsung vibrant has front facing camera. View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I connected my Bell Vibrant to my Win7 X64 PC via Bluetooth, and all sorts of funny issues happen when attempting to control dialing from my PC, and use my computer as a speakerphone. To begin with, the "Hangup" button doesn't work, plus whenever I press the "Connect" button to "Use this computer as a headset or speakerphone for calls on your phone (Galaxy S)," the phone starts dialing the number written in the "Make a call to this number:" field (when there's a number written there--otherwise it would start dialing the latest dialed number) without my having to press the "Connect" button. Ain't that funny? Anyone else going through this?
