Samsung :: Rogers : Disable 3G In Corby Pro GT-B5310R?
Nov 24, 2010
Id like to know how to disable the 3G in my corby pro in hopes of conserving battery life. I tried some admin codes to enter service menus but they dont seem to work. my phone is currently locked to rogers.I dont have a data plan or need one. it has wifi so i can still connect to the net. Is there any point of keeping it activated, just seems like it would be using up battery life.
I wanna know the difference between samsung corby and genoa....I mean the specs are telling the difference of camera only! price differs only 25$ but is there any other attractive feature corby is offering as compared to genoa c3510?I am planning to buy one but i am confused between these two...please help out!
Just got the Samsung Corby Pro through Rogers- tried to use a home-made recording mp3 as a ringtone. The mp3 loaded and plays fine in the phone but when I tried to set it as a ringtone- the message "unsupported file type" comes up. The other ringtones that the phone comes with are all mp3 as well- just wondering what I need to do to turn my own mp3 into the "supported" file type for ringtone use.
I am having a real problem trying to get my new Samsung Corby Pro to voice dial. I have just upgraded from a Motorola Razr V9 to this new phone and have a Blueant Supertooth 3 speakerphone. I had no problems making outgoing voice dial calls with the Motorola. I cannot figure out why it does not work on the Samsung. When you do a search for the specs of the Samsung Corby Pro many sites say that it has voice dial. I cannot find any mention of this feature in the instruction manual. When I called Rogers, my service provider they could not say if this phone has voice dial or not. When I called Samsung, the tech rep could not pull up any documentation about it.Buying new tech puts you in a bit of a bind I am finding.anyways if anybody managed to get it to work please reply.
So I had to buy a USB cable since you don't get one in the package. I connect my PC with the phone but nothing happens. So I googled a bit and saw that you need Samsung PC Studio and I downloaded, install but when I try to connect again nothing happens. It just won't connect. So does anyone know what else I should do?
I have a Corby plus on Rogers, and I have an unlock code for it, but I'm not quite sure how to enter it. Do I need to have a SIM for a different network to do it?. Unfortunately I'm travelling to europe in a few days and I'm going to buy a SIM there. I don't really want to run the risk of the unlock code not working, or me losing the code, so I was hoping to be able to unlock it without having a SIM to another network. Is that possible? If not, if I were to borrow someone else's sim and insert it and then enter my unlock code (I presume it comes up right away if I try and boot to a locked network?), does that mean that it's unlocked for any other SIMs that I put in my phone later?
I have a Samsung Corby plus here that works on rogers. needless to say (you've probably figured it out on your own. congrats!), I want it unlocked, and after many fruitless searches, I'm more than a bit frustrated about my lack of success. The only results I found are for those damn sites that charges you for an unlock code, and there's no way I'll ever pay 20 dollars for unlock code. Am I clear? I don't want people coming here to tell me stuff like "lololol get your unlock code from mobile in canada :P". I want to know how I'm supposed to unlock this stupid phone, and I'll handle the rest.
I recently bought a used Samsung Flight online and it appears to be locked. The pictures in the posting all showed it unlocked, connected to Rogers etc and the phone is exactly as shown in the posting based on the nicks/marks on it. However, when I boot it up I am faced with a passcode. I've tried the standard 0000, 1234, 12345, 00000 etc but no luck. I've also messaged the seller but have not received a reply as yet.
Sat at loaded new ringtones to pc from ventones.com to my pc but now they wont load to my samsung corby pro. wasnt given disk to for loading phone to pc and visa versa but do have usb cable. Or does anyone know the cost from Rogers to me for transferring new ringtones to phone? Rogers wasnt able to confirm prior to my transferring the ringtones.
I just want to ask you guys regarding my new phone Samsung Corby GT-S3653. When I was able to purchase this phone it seems to be fine. After I realize that when I was able to text to my girlfriend, it seems that her messages or her reply could not easily sent. It takes almost 15 minutes then all her txt will pop out. I mean it. All of it like 18 message or more and what worst is that same message only. When I ask her how many times you send this message, she said 1 time only. It never happens once only but it happens everyday. I already check the settings but there's no problem with it. At first I thought it was just a network error or something to do with network but when my girlfriend decide to change phone with me and with different SIM card, the problem is still arising and it is confirm its not something to do with the network. Its something to do with the unit. Email me if u have info at gelxsbaldoman@yahoo.com
Samsung is always coming back for more. This time, we got Samsung Corby in hand. The entry level touchscreen phone which is tech-savvy and fresh. Undeniably, the colorful and lovely Corby is for youngsters that are keen on technology and those active social networkers. The interchangeable Fashion Jackets are tailor-made for those who like to personalize and customize. Read on to know more. What’s inside? The Corby, a battery, a charger, a stylus, a data cable, a handsfree set, two extra rear panels and a user’s guide.
The Corby is incredibly compact which measures 103 x 56.5 x 12 mm. The all plastic construction certainly helps it keep its weight at 90 grams. The 2.8" touchscreen is very responsive, which requires only a touch rather than a push to register a click. On the left side of the phone, it hosts the lanyard eyelet, followed by the volume rocker in the middle and the proprietary connectivity port beneath for plugging in a charger, data cable and headset............
I got a Samsung Corby S3653 recently the one which has colours, does anyone know how can I shift the SMS storage to memory card & also when I am trying to install .jar games its being installed in phone memory is there any setting where I can shift the installation to memory card?
I just bought the Corby Plus B3410 and it didn't come with a transfer cable or any software. I bought the correct size memory card with a card reader and I am now trying to make my own ringtones. It will let me use regular mp3 files as message alerts but not as a ringtone. I even attempted to use a DRM packager to forward-lock the files onto the memory card but it still wasn't accepted. It was a Sony Ericsson DRM packager but I don't know if that had anything to do with.
I've been having problems finding the admin codes for my Corby Plus (B3410R). I've tried a few, one being *#6984125*#, but each time it produces a message that says "Not allowed". The purpose is to install java apps, so I need to update the Java DB, as I've found. I've tried simply using the .jar and .jad files, and making a link to them in a .html file, and both times I wasn't able to open them, giving a message saying the file type wasn't supported. Does anyone know if there is a new admin code that brings you to the menu the first code I mentioned for this phone, or do I need to flash the phone because of some crazy lock my carrier slapped on the phone?
I got a Corby recently, I am trying to install games but its getting installed in my phone memory. some of them are not getting installed only coz of large file size, I can't find any setting for that how to install it in memory card, also the SMS limit shows 500 but as its crossing 173 its saying delete some messages memory full. May I know why is this happening is there any way where the messages can store in memory card or the storage limit can increase.
What is the compatible size and format of Games and Themes/Wallpaper for the Samsung Corby TXT? I cannot find any games for these model, even the Samsung website does not have anything for this.
How in the world do you log out of Facebook app? I googled it up and found the answer but it doesn't seem to work as I can't get to Facebook after I tap my account.
today I picked up a rough looking Bold 9000 and swapped in my spare parts onto it. The catch is, it was a Bell phone. I already unlocked it and it states it is on rogers network now. I don't want the Bell logo/wallpapers to load upon startup, so I though by installing FW Version 5.0.1626 from the blackberry Rogers download page it would fix it.The software update just finished(about 10-15 min) and I see a bell background and bell startup logo. Should the Rogers FW change this over? or are the bell wallpapers/startup logo's programmed into the phone itself and NOT the FW?I don't want to remove the Logo completely, I just rather have it say ROGERS like my old BB and have all the rogers software/configuration.
Have not been able to find any setttings that will allow me to connect to voicemail on Rogers. When it dials the voicemail number, it disconnects immediately.ere is what I have tried so far:- Tried all three Caller ID settings.- Enabled and Disable FDN (normally disabled)- Voicemail service is set to 'my carrier' (the only option I get).- Changed the Voicemail number in Settings to dial using the area code, no area code, and last 4 digits.
i'm new to this so i appoligize if i have posted this in the wrong place. I have a samsung rugby 2 (sgh-A847m) that was a bell phone I'm trying to setup web and mms. I have APN settings but the problem is There is nowhere to put in the port setting.I had it sending photos at one point even though the phone was telling me the message was not sent but cannot receive any mms.
My mom just got a new phone. It is a SGH-A777. She doesn't really know how to use the phone and often accidentally open the internet. So we get charged for the unintended internet use. Is there anyway to disable the internet on the phone?
I have a Rogue on Verizon now. Verizon put the data block on it for me but that takes away the flexibility of using it when needed. I am also thinking about switching to Page Plus so definitely want to know how to turn data on/off from the phone.
As hard as I try not to I still accidentally hit those web access buttons. I try to remember to hit the end button every time I put the phone down, but I keep racking up internet access time. Three hours at on time and many other shorter instances as well. I know this is one of the main design features of this phone, but it's not the reason I bought it. I liked the other features on the phone and figured there would be an easy way to disable web access.
i want to remove my email accounts from the social hub.in fact, i'm quite keen on deleting the whole thing as it doesn't seem to work very well for me.how can i stop the social hub from grabbing my emails?i want to remove my gmail account from it but i get a warning message saying it will delete all contacts etc from the device.
How can I disable wifi and keep it switched off until I want to use it again, while keeping other radio services on.
I have pretty bad wi fi reception in my bedroom, however it's just sufficient for my phone to detect it and connect, but it drops out and syncing/downloading/loading web pages is very slow ad often fails.
