All my applications from my Media folder have been moved onto my home screen after downloading a theme. I didn't like the theme so i deleted it, and now all of my Media applications are on my home screen and i am unable to move them or do anything with them, i've tried re-booting. I really want them back in that Media folder

App icons on the home page/desktop have disappeared for apps that are moved to "media" space (aka, "SD-ext").
-- They show up OK in the Apps list. And in folders. Only missing on the desktop.
-- They came back for awhile but then recently disappeared again.
-- They will come back if I delete them from the desktop and the put them back.
I am new here having jsut come from a BB Curve 8900 I love the speed of the new 9700 its a million times better. Anyway, I have a 2gb card installed but under the settings and memory section it says no card found. is there a way of getting it to reconise the card as my phone says its only got 90MB of internal memorey left which wont do me as I use it as a mp3 player as well.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently installed OS 5.0.0.442 which was posted on the very first thread of the forum. I haven't had any issues with it until recently.
When I try a soft reset, I get the red indicator light as usual, but instead of resetting, I get a message on my screen that says something along the lines of "Media card installed. All media will be copied onto the device." After this dialog box goes away, the device does NOT reset. Any ideas on why the soft reset no longer works?
I recently bought a curve 9300. Last night I deleted some apps from the device(yahoo messenger, gtalk etc) in order to have more memory on my device. However after rebooting all the media icons like pictures videos became a black folder with a question mark along with the original icons and all my icons from the media dock were removed> now my media dock is empty and I cant find a way to put those icons back on> also I have a copy of all the media icons like pictures videos etc twice.

View 4 Replies View RelatedDevice is BB9000 Installed latest BB Desktop Manager and Roxio for managing image files Initially I had 5 pictures loaded into the BB9000 and could see them just fine in Media, Pictures, All Pictures I then took 2 pictures with the BB9000 Camera and saved them. They showed up just fine in Media, Pictures, All Pictures I then used Roxio, launched from the BB Desktop Manager to delete these 2 pictures from the BB9000 and all appeared to be fine as Roxio showed the 5 original images as present in the Home, User, Picture folder When I disconnected the BB9000 and accessed Media, Pictures, All Pictures, there are now 5 images and 2 broken icon thumbnails. Next I enabled Mass Media from Home, Options, Memory I then connected the BB9000 via USB (not running BB Desktop Manager at this point) and opened up the drive (in my case G:) in explorer. I can clearly see the 5 original images in the folder and each one can be opened using explorer. Next I disconnected the USB cable and this time there are 4 broken image icons in Media, Pictures, All Pictures while the original 5 images are still all there. One image has also been duplicated (called trail.jpg) and if I delete one using the BB9000, likely both will disappear but for now, have not done anything. If I select one of the broken image icons in Media, Pictures, All Pictures and select Delete, a prompt comes up "The selected file is read only. Are you sure you wish to delete it?". Selecting Yes does nothing. The image remains as a broken image icon. How is this corrected?

View 1 Replies View RelatedA configuration snafu sent pictures to a folder in Device Memory. (Device Memory/Home/User/Pictures) All my previous pictures went to memory card. (Media Card/Blackberry/pictures) I am not able to move the pictures from the Device Memory folder to either the memory Card or to my PC. Normal "Move" and PC downbload procudes don't work (I can't get to the Device Memory folders via my PC, and the Blackberry won't let me move from the Device memory to the Media Card.) These pictures will be lost if I can't move them. I don't want to email them. How do I move the pictures in Device Memory/Home/User/Pictures to either the Media Card or to my PC.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSince upgrading to Version 5.0.1 neither the media manger nor blackberry media synch now work. the media manager always prompts to install and downloads but then does nothing. The blackberry media sync gets so far after launch the gives an error message. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling a number of times but cannot get the media manager to install so cannot now get any media off my phone or on to it. Any ideas anyone?

Since that I only have one glitch, the media folder is called net_rim_bb_file_explorer.Media I assume that's the internal name, not the display name, anyone knows how to rename it?? I don't want to mess with the OS by downgrading or things like that, I'm quite happy with how the phone works as it is...
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have Storm (9500) and I've been trying for a few hours to transfer photos from my media card to my PC. Every time I connect to Media Sync with my Storm, I receive a messages saying my device is not recognised and to make sure the card is inserted correctly etc. here is what I have done and I still receive the same message -
Taken out the media card and reinserted it
Taken out the battery and reinserted it
turned all the settings in (Options Memory) to on
Auto Enable Mass Sttorage Mode when Connected is set to Yes
Tried connecting to all USB ports on the PC ( I have 4)
PC OS is Windows 7
I've checked for all possible updates on BlackBerry Software (Device and Desktop and Media Sync) I have a completely updates Storm in terms of Software.
Last night I bought two CDs on line. i downloaded them to my computer and plugged in my phone to download to the phone. Media link started up and downloaded every CD on the computer before I could stop it. (I had selected only the new CD's in media link) I had to go into my music and delete everything that was duplicated. Then I discovered that my playlists were all empty. I had gone though all of my music and put all songs in playlists. Now I had to do it again!! I thought I was all fixed up and discovered this morning that all 1,290 photos from my computer were loaded onto my phone as well. DO NOT leave media link on your computer. I'm removing it when I get home and I'll start doing the old copy/paste routine. Motorola should send warnings about Media Link to all customers.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to add some ringtones to my Torch. They are there and I can see them in the file manager or when I sync to my Mac. But when I go to the ringtones folder, they are not listed. There is an option to select music for a ringtone, so I put the mp3 file in the music folder along with other music files, but none show up.
The same thing happens when I take pictures with the phone. If I look at the pictures folder, it says no pictures. But if I go through file manager to the media card, I can see the pictures.
My daughter deleted the Media folder from her BlackBerry Pearl and I have no clue how to get it back!
View 1 Replies View RelatedOk, media card was working fine, had alot of work pictures stored on it and was becoming a hassle to hunt through all of them to find what I wanted. So, I inserted media card in computer and transfered what I wanted to a folder on the computer. Then I formatted the card using the computer. When I put the card back into the phone, the phone knows its there, but I must have wiped the card completely as none of the folders for video, pics, etc. are on it anymore. If I take a picture and go to find it, the media card does not even show up, just device memory.
Does anybody have a remedy for this? I already tried formatting the card in the phone but that didn't work. The phone is telling me in the memory options that 1.8GB is free, so I know it works, it just lost the folders or whatever........
I have a weired problem on my new 9900 (Vodafone, 7.0.0.296): Once I downloaded any app from the AppWorld I can not move it to any other place on the homescreen (not even to another folder). Every App which already was on the device when I got it is movable.

Today the standard blackberry ring tone stopped working (the vibration still works). I am able to receive emails, phone calls and I can make calls. My contacts remain in the phone.
