App icons on the home page/desktop have disappeared for apps that are moved to "media" space (aka, "SD-ext").
-- They show up OK in the Apps list. And in folders. Only missing on the desktop.
-- They came back for awhile but then recently disappeared again.
-- They will come back if I delete them from the desktop and the put them back.
All my applications from my Media folder have been moved onto my home screen after downloading a theme. I didn't like the theme so i deleted it, and now all of my Media applications are on my home screen and i am unable to move them or do anything with them, i've tried re-booting. I really want them back in that Media folder

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy wife replaced her Droid 2 with a Droid Razr M last week. When I activated the phone for her I discovered there is no toggle option to move any Apps from internal storage to the SD Card. This is usually found by going to Settings-Manage Apps-Download-App Info as a toggle "Move to SD Card/Move to Internal Storage". I went to Motorola's chat and exhausted their knowledge base and was then directed to a phone support number. After talking with a level 1 and level 2 help persons, they synched into my wife's phone and then compared a Razr M on their end. They finally admitted that the move option does not appear in the Razr M version of ICS. This is a critical omission considering the limited size of the Razr M internal storage.I was told by the level 2 that there might be Apps available to fix the problem. I tried App2SD but found it directed me back to the missing toggle.Is this true of all Razr M phones or is it a bug in the software of only a few? In either case, is there a service patch available to correct it?
View 13 Replies View RelatedEvery time I shut down and restart my RM, or add a new app from the store, it empties the program icons I have in the dock bar at the bottom of the screen! The "apps" icon stays, but the others that I place there because they're the ones I use frequently all disappear, and I have to put them back into the dock bar.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI received the 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) OTA update for my Droid Razr on Tuesday morning July 3, 2012. The install was uneventful. One feature of the previous operating system I use frequently is File Manager. I noticed that after the OTA update to ICS that the feature to "Move" does not work, or at least doesn't allow me to move files from Internal Storage to the SD Card. I searched the Forums and didn't find any discussions about File Manager not working the same in ICS as it did in Ginger Bread. I read the numerous marketing guides and preparation documents that were published on the Motorola Razr website and didn't read anything about File Manager changing. I downloaded the new Razr Operating Guide for ICS and found no discussion about File Manager being different.
I tried Motorola Live Chat and ended up getting referred to Level 2 Tech Support. I have powered the device off and on numerous times in the last 48 hours. I have also done a Power + Volume Down restart but the Move option is still not working. Specifically, I can select a file from a folder in Internal Phone Storage and select Move. I can press the Back arrow-key but as soon as I am back at the File Manager main screen (so I can select SD Card), the option to Move disappears. If I press SD Card (like I did before with Ginger Bread) the Move button does not reappear at the bottom of the page.
I got my Razr on November 12th and I have only had one issue with the phone so far. My screen will not auto-rotate when I move the phone.If I open an app or watch a video that is in landscape it till rotate, but when I close the app/video the screen will not rotate back.I have to turn off the screen, rotate the phone and the unlock the phone to get the screen to rotate.I have my display settings set to auto-rotate.I have this issue using Blur launcher, GoLauncher, and ADW.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSomething real strange happens when I turn my phone off and on again or if it reboots for any reason.Three (all Android Market apps) of my shortcut icons on the home screen are replaced by a blue generic looking icon. They still work as shortcut though. The way to fix this is to delete them from the home screen and then set up a new shortcut: The app icon shows up as expected.......... until the next time I turn off my Razr. Annoying to say the least.

Most of the time I can still click on the icon and it will take me to the app and I can delete the shortcut and re-add it, but sometimes I get a message saying that the app does not exist and I have to reinstall it

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've had the RAZR for a few days now, and one of the main things I used my last phone for (droid x) was to listen to music at work.I've been listening to music these past three days, and when I look at the battery use chart, there is something called "Mediaserver" using up a significant amount of battery life (~20% or more if I've listened to a lot of music). On my droid x I never saw this process on my battery use, and I am wondering if there is an option or something that I am overlooking that is increasing the amount of battery drain from listening to music.I listen to mp3s on the stock music app and to mp3 and m4a podcasts using Pocket Casts.I can't say for sure, but Mediaserver seems to not appear on the battery list until I start listening to music and to not increase the amount of battery that it uses while not listening to music.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've noticed this happen several times before, but if I'm connecting/disconnecting to headphone jack or bluetooth, all media volumes will go silent (resuming a podcast, music, etc), and turning up/down the volume has no affect. The only fix I've found is to pause everything, go to the homescreen, turn the phone volume (which appears automatically) down, then go back into the app and press play. However, sometimes I can't turn the phone volume down on the homescreen because only the media volume appears, even after I close the media apps (even from the recent menu from holding the Home button). Even going into Menu > System Settings > Sound > Volumes and adjusting everything there made no difference. I had to make a phone call, hang up, then go back to the homescreen, turn the phone volume all the way to mute/vibrate, then turn it back up and go back into my media app and the media sound would be restored. It's really frustrating and considering how often I use media apps and how often this happens, I'm considering ditching the Razr Maxx and getting a non-Motorola phone.
View 4 Replies View RelatedRecently when I turn on bluetooth and the bluetooth device, media doesn't connect until I go into Bluetooth settings. I can sit there and wait 30 seconds after it's connected, go into Bluetooth settings, and watch it say "no media" then connect within a second. It's like the secretary opens up her spreadsheet but then doesn't start working until I enter the room. It does connect to phone, but I usually use it for media, and regardless, if I've set the device to use phone and media, it should connect them automatically at the same time always.

The only issue I am having is when listening to music in Pandora or Songza and i get a notification, the volume is approximately half until the song changes or i exit the app and restart the app. Also, if the phone is on silent or vibrate this does not happen.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI was working after lunch and noticed that my phone was getting hotter and hotter. When I looked at the screen it showed constant data up and down. I wasnt syncing anything or surfing but it wouldnt stop. I shut down and restarted and even did the software "Battery Pull" but soon enough it would start data again and the battery would be eaten up. It was on 4G. Then finally it would stop an hour or so later. If I start the music app again it starts all over. Here is a thread on another site where we are trying to narrow it down. They think it may be the media server as it shows a lot of data usage!

The best examples of when this might come in handy:In the car, being able to turn media volume up to loud so you can stream music through your stereo and control it entirely through the car stereo. I find mysef always having to find my phone and turn media up on the phone first, so I don't accidentally blow a speaker when I get in the car without the phone connected.At work being able to turn the media volume to mute. "Carbon is NOT available to Motorola devices. This is because Motorola phones have a bug that break Android's backup mechanism. Until this is fixed by Motorola, Carbon will not work on those Androids"
i remembered that being a standout feature of our phone, and while at home on wi fi (i have a 15mbps up and down fiber connection) netflix is just not playing back in the same quality that it used to.before i felt like video playback was almost on par with guys running 720p screens with higher ppi's...(rezound/gnex), at least within this particular app. but now? it looks like any other Internet vid with the quality on high (which imo still isnt all that great and still not as good as going to the desktop site and watching a vid set to 720 or 1080).no other phone was ever touted as having this ability (though i'm sure the rezound and gnex can) and a lot of it had to do with the omap processor being used...is something up with ics thats not letting it happen? or was it the most recent netflix update that supports 4.1?
