The new carbon back up app will not work on Motorola phones, they state:
"Carbon is NOT available to Motorola devices. This is because Motorola phones have a bug that break Android's backup mechanism. Until this is fixed by Motorola, Carbon will not work on those Androids"
Since the new system update on the Razr maxx. Anyway to go back to the way it was? I loved my phone until now!

View 2 Replies View Relatedi remembered that being a standout feature of our phone, and while at home on wi fi (i have a 15mbps up and down fiber connection) netflix is just not playing back in the same quality that it used to.before i felt like video playback was almost on par with guys running 720p screens with higher ppi's...(rezound/gnex), at least within this particular app. but now? it looks like any other Internet vid with the quality on high (which imo still isnt all that great and still not as good as going to the desktop site and watching a vid set to 720 or 1080).no other phone was ever touted as having this ability (though i'm sure the rezound and gnex can) and a lot of it had to do with the omap processor being used...is something up with ics thats not letting it happen? or was it the most recent netflix update that supports 4.1?

The only features that appear are office, bedside, my music, and charge only. I spoke to someone at the verizon store and they told me to purchase the webtop adapter. Well, I received this in the mail today and all my anticipation went down the drain when it did nothingAbsolutely no features pop up so I have no idea what this was for. All I want is to be able to mirror whats on my phone onto my laptop.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI had random issues with the fb app when on GB also, but now it wont start at all, or, it starts, then goes black and never recovers. finally about 10 - 15 minutes later I get a pop up message that the app has stopped responding and do I want to report it. Of course I report it every time.
I tried uninstalling the app completely but could not do it. I could only uninstall the upgrades made to it previously, so I tried that and then reinstalled the upgrades, but to no avail.
I did not realize that fb is a permanent app. I thought I could uninstall it completely, but I cannot. Has anyone else run into this with fb?
yes I did have other issues with ics and I have cache cleared and started uninstalling app's where possible. I have NOT tried a factory reset yet, but that may very well be next.
How to export all of the contacts from my phone into a format that I can view and make changes and then import back to the phone. I have had to many issues with my contacts. Some of them have been joined on the phone to better manage them, but I would like to export all the data make changes to it, then keep a master copy off of the phone.

To try yourself, use voice commands and say "Set alarm for 5:25 PM" or "Set timer for three minutes." It will show a created alarm, you can see it in your list of alarms, but nothing happens when the alarm should go off.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI know ...Adobe is pulling Flash Support from Android devices, BUT since all the other 4.0.3 and 4.0.4 Devices i tried work with flash i think its something motorola could fix (With help from Adobe maybe).bout the Problem:Every ICS Version (Even the new "leaked" EU versions...) for the RAZR has working Flash Buttons/Menues ect. but embedded Videos don't work (Check for yourself on southpark.com or ESPN). The Videos Buffer/Load but the screen stays black...maybe some hardware acceleration thingy.Flash does work on Samsungs SIII and the Nexus...as well as some 4.0.3 Tablets i tried.Since the Nexus has about the same hardware (cpu/gpu) as the razr there must be something wrong on the motorola part.Oh, and about flash: Latest Version from the market ! View 15 Replies View RelatedSo, we've discussed this in other forums. There are hundreds that experience this problem. The volume will not raise or lower when the screen is off. (Such as holding it up to your ear.) You have to take the phone away from your ear and turn on the screen before you can change the volume. So, will they be fixing this any time soon? I know that theyre working on the hotspot, but this affects more users. Some have thought that this was put in by design to keep someone from inadvertently raising the volume while talking. If th the case, then Motorola needs to give us an option to turn this setting off. Many owners are upset about this. e heard that the volume will raise if you repeatedly press it. m on my second Razr and I can honestly tell you that neither worked this way.

View 13 Replies View RelatedMy voice search doesn't work when I am on wifi data. It keeps thinking over and over and comes back with no results. But when I switch to mobile data network it works fine and returns the results right away. I can not even use speech to text feature while on wifi it, it does the same thing as voice search on wifi. I am not able to find out what the problem is. The formatting was incorrectly checked causing all caps. Just changed the formatting to correct that.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe issue I have is that that stock Motorola messaging app does not allow you to send a text to a vanity shortcode with letters as opposed to all numbers. Spent over an hour on hold to talk to a Motorola rep who then told me that they can only make a change to the messaging app if the carrier (Verizon Wireless) approves it. Just to clarify, it works on iphone and other and other Android phones were it will convert any alpha characters for numbers for you while entering them into the recipient field.

Even with a strong 4g signial it will just say loading for up to a minute before it completes loading. Before the update the app would always load very fast. I have cleared data on the app and uninstalled and reinstalled and it still does the same thing.

Voice search (the app you get to by holding search) and Soundhound give me errors every time I try to use them with the vehicle dock connected. If I disconnect the vehicle dock, they work again, and as soon as I reconnect it they quit working.
Strangely enough, the app "Text by Voice" seems to be unaffected.
I have this problem on my new RAZR MAXX as well as my Bionic.After using a Bluetooth stereo headset or Bluetooth in the car, once the connection drops, the phone's speaker stops working for awhile.For instance, you might get a call and the phone doesn't ring, or you might play some music and the speaker is silent.This usually clears up after stopping and starting the music again, or if you get a second phone call it will ring.

View 4 Replies View RelatedFirst, the only one that I'm allowed to choose to map to the double click home key is Voice Commands. If that isn't annoying enough, I also can not figure out how to access Voice Search at all, and Google Now requires actually interacting with the device to launch (I'm going for a handsfree/bluetooth solution here).
Second, Voice Commands is missing functionality. It has a "goto" feature, but it never works. It says I have to set up the shortcuts in the settings. However when I go into settings there is nothing there for setting up the shortcuts. Sometimes if I hit it just right I can tap the GoTo button and it takes me to a list of functions and I am able to select it, and it works for a little while, but inevitably when I go back to use it again the GoTo function is once again dead. I know this because instead of opening navigation or maps or Google Now (as I had set up before) it constantly prompts me to call someone or cancel, or some other function that is NOT GoTo. At least if I could change the default behavior of what launches I could work around this frustration by using Google Now or even a 3rd party application, but my menu has predefined choices and none of them are Google Now or 3rd party.
how to manage when capacitive buttons (settings, home, back, search) lights on, because, when I use my Moto in night, I need to guess where is Home and Back buttons.
