I have just got my SGS2 and I am wondering if there is apps out there which will automate settings such as: when at work Wifi is off, silent mode,screen in the lowest brightness, Data from SIMcard is activated when I get home (knowing my location), WIFI is switched on, brightness auto, data connection from SIM Card is off, etc.
View 6 Repliesi like the screen display nice and bright so when i go into - settings - display - brightness - menu i untick the automatic brightness box and move the slider almost all the way to the right and press ok to exit - leaving the automatic brightness box unticked .but the next time i go to use my phone either to text or make or receive a call somehow the automatic brightness box has a tick in it and the screen goes into the automatic brightness settings by going dim again .whatever i do and however many times i untick the automatic brightness box it still manages to tick itself the next time i use the phone?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI updated my SG2 to ICS v4.0.3 last night, and everything went smoothly with no problems to report. Apart from the fact the install seemed to delete 2 of my 3 email accounts that were set up 1 Hotmail account and 1 AOL account.I've set up the Hotmail account no problem, but for some reason I just cannot get the AOL one set up. I input my email address and password and it progresses to the 'retrieving information' screen but then I keep getting the error message Sign in incorrect - The attempt to sign in failed due to an invalid User Name, Password or incorrect settings. Please check blah blah blah....try again blah blah blah Now I've sucessfully logged in to the email account via the internet (just in case I was been a numpty and entering the incorrect password) and the details are all correct. I've even tried changing my password on-line then logging in again on my phone with the new one, but I still get the smae error message. I never had this problem at all with Gingerbread.

I changed the time 5 minutes back, and I turned on the automatic setting. I have data and location on. I checked an hour later, my time is still off the Microsoft server time with 5 minutes. Nothing happens.

When I checked the time on my RAZR against my PC, where I have a service that sets the time from an atomic clock, I found that the RAZR was off by more than 14 seconds. I disabled the option and instead installed an app called "ClockSync" that sets the correct time. Unfortunately, the automatic time update setting is required by Verizon in order to login to My Verizon Mobile, so I either give up checking my data and call usage or I give up accurate time. This is very annoying. Can we get Verizon to use a reliable time server instead of whatever they are using now?

I've searched the manual, the forum and the God of Google and have found nothing. In a desperate attempt, I put in a MicroSD card and changed the settings to save to the card, but with no luck. Then, trying to follow another's step-by-step instructions, I'm still having trouble following along. Here's my step-by-step to the point that I get lost. Open Menu, tap Settings, tap Messaging, scroll down to Messaging Settings, tap Multimedia Message, tap MMS Profiles... and this is where it gets confusing for me. Whether I try to edit one of the preset profiles, or add my own, these are the lines I'm offered to work with:
editing the MEdia Net profile -

Password (user ID and PW aren't able to be edited in this profile)
Protocol (either HTTP or WAP)

And in adding a new profile, everything that was previously unable to be edited, can now be: User ID, Password, Static IP #, and Servers 1 & 2 #'s. I've tried every combination of URLs that I could find:

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am using Microsoft Exchange with Active Sync through my email provider, Intermedia. The sync has been erratic at best. I have put all of the email settings to Auto; however, most of the time it only syncs when I push the email icon. I've tried calling Samsung and AT&T - even had a remote session with AT&T. They could find nothing set up improperly. I've deleted and re-installed the email app a few times. I got it to work over the weekend, but yesterday, it stopped syncing again. I would even delete specific emails from the phone and a few minutes later, they would show up as unread.
I've called my email provider and went through troubleshooting with them, to no avail. Everything was setup properly. I've wiped the system cache a few times. I just tried the following: deleted the exchange email setup from the phone (again for the 3rd time); went into application manager and cleared the data from every "email" app that was in there (email - there were two, email synch, email storage, etc). Then I shut down the phone and did another wipe of the system cache. Then I installed the email app again.
Now it seems to be working. I'm just afraid that, after a period of time, it will stop working. My 14 day period ends on Thursday. I'm thinking about exchanging this phone for another S6. However, what if it happens on that phone. I've asked AT&T and Samsung if they have any information in their database regarding this issue and they both said no. I even tried to use the Microsoft Outlook app. But it doesn't appear to be able to work with Active Sync (I can't put my email server parameters in there).
Was setting the PIN to lock the SIM, but not sure what the PIN2 is used for. Can someone shed some light.

After several years with Verizon we are really excited about starting new accounts with Page Plus. Can someone here help us set up these phones or at least point us in the right direction. i'm new to this so i appoligize if i have posted this in the wrong place. I have a samsung rugby 2 (sgh-A847m) that was a bell phone I'm trying to setup web and mms. I have APN settings but the problem is There is nowhere to put in the port setting.I had it sending photos at one point even though the phone was telling me the message was not sent but cannot receive any mms.
