The GPS otherwise known as LOCATION always disables itself. I must activate it many times everyday. Is there a setting that will KEEP LOCATION activated?

How do I save locations on my Samsung S6 phone other than tagging photos? Would like to go to a saved location and have Google maps audibly tell me how to get there. Do I have to always take a picture? Don't want to do that.

After I came back, I found there is no way to forget the saved wifi as I could not find it in my Wifi network list. There is a menu icon to see Saved Wifi when goes to Wifi Setting for the other mobile phone with Android Lollipop from other manufacturer, but that icon is missing from Samsung Galaxy S6. Is there any other way for me to forget those wifi networks saved in other place?

This also happens if I exit messaging via the home key.Would any one know please if this is usual and if so is there a way of exiting messaging so that it does not remain active in the task manager, or is this a fault?

I clicked the back button twice to reach my home screen.I can see that my Active applications shows that Messaging is still running?I had to "Exit" from Messaging through that.My thought was, when I hit the back button frmo the Messaging screen, it should close/exit that from the background (i.e.) it should not list in the Active Applications window?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI updated my SG2 to ICS v4.0.3 last night, and everything went smoothly with no problems to report. Apart from the fact the install seemed to delete 2 of my 3 email accounts that were set up 1 Hotmail account and 1 AOL account.I've set up the Hotmail account no problem, but for some reason I just cannot get the AOL one set up. I input my email address and password and it progresses to the 'retrieving information' screen but then I keep getting the error message Sign in incorrect - The attempt to sign in failed due to an invalid User Name, Password or incorrect settings. Please check blah blah blah....try again blah blah blah Now I've sucessfully logged in to the email account via the internet (just in case I was been a numpty and entering the incorrect password) and the details are all correct. I've even tried changing my password on-line then logging in again on my phone with the new one, but I still get the smae error message. I never had this problem at all with Gingerbread.

Whenever I'm at school my battery drains exponentially. Today I was writing a final exam and had my phone in my bag for 3 hours, in that time the battery dropped from 80% to 45%. I don't think my signal is the problem because I have 3-4 bars of lte at all times when I'm at school. As for optimizations I'm doing most of the tips erasat provided in his thread. I am connected to wifi too. The battery stats on the phone doesn't show anything is draining my battery. What could be the culprit?
Also this only happens when I'm at school not anywhere else. This has been going on ever since I got my s6 (3 months).
Picking it up this morning I tried entering my security PIN only to find the numbers weren't registering. The problem? My finger holding the device - while not touching the screen area - was too close and was activating multitouch. Moving my finger out of the way solved the problem though my grip slips away and the device starts to fall out of my hands.
I can't be the only one that finds this tablet hard to hold. And the best part is, there's an easy remedy to the situation: give us the option to change the active screen area (e.g. shrink it by a certain number of pixels in order to give us more room to hold it). Even without changing anything else in Honeycomb this is still doable, yet I fear it will never become a reality.
Am I the only one who wants to see them let us shrink the touchable area of the screen so we can hold it better?

Yesterday it thought I was in Kassel Germany and today it's South London.
Done a few resets, flashed stock firmware, but nothing works.
Based in UK and my phone is unbranded on EE.
Namely, every time I open the Google+ app on my S6 Edge, then try to open Locations, the app crashes.
I've sent several crash reports, no use. I've factory reset the phone, no use. Took it to Samsung service, no use.
They've reinstalled all Google apps, no use. The odd thing is, my S5 mini duos handles G+ Locations with no problem.
I have noticed the smart lock fails 100 % of the time when using a trust location.
The phone will continually ask you for a fingerprint or pattern to unlock in trusted locations.
This is a important selling point for the device that does not work.
Tried uninstalling google service updates with no luck.
after configuring the work e.mail and added as exchange e.mail, it keeps showing " failed to connect to server" other times it says can't verify the account information?

Then, trying to follow another's step-by-step instructions, I'm still having trouble following along. Here's my step-by-step to the point that I get lost. Open Menu, tap Settings, tap Messaging, scroll down to Messaging Settings, tap Multimedia Message, tap MMS Profiles... and this is where it gets confusing for me. Whether I try to edit one of the preset profiles, or add my own, these are the lines I'm offered to work with:

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an app, Activity Classifier, that uses the handset accelerometers to provide information on activities and total exercise. It automates exercise tracking, classifies activities by type and quantifies aerobic intensity. Live data streamed from an Xperia Arc using the app is displayed in a blog. While it is possible to use on the Active it is unfortunately more difficult on the Active than the Arc because the Active accelerometers have a fault that is hard to get around. The problem is that the accelerometers sometimes take quite a while to start sampling when either started or the sampling frequency is changed.Occasionally it can take longer than 90 seconds. The problem can be seen with the app Accelerometer Frequency. Switch between sampling frequencies and notice that sometimes it switches instantly and sometimes it doesn't. To minimise battery consumption Activity Classifier acquires data from the accelerometers for 6 seconds out of every 30. If no other app is using the accelerometers they will start and stop every sampling period. On the Active they frequently don't start and the app detects a faulty accelerometer. The app has an option to keep accelerometers on and if this is selected it will work OK but battery consumption goes up a lot. The Active comes with a pedometer app called Walkmate. I can see from the Accelerometer Frequency app that Walkmate keeps the acclerometers running at 50 Hz and running Walkmate at the same time as Activity Classifier will make Activity Classifier work OK as well. Walkmate seems pretty power efficient and uses less than half the power of the market leading pedometer app Accupedo, run in power balanced mode, but it counts a different number of steps.

View 2 Replies View Relatedyesterday out of the blue the display on my active stopped working. i connected it to the pc and did a reset/reinstalled the firmware but still no display.i can play music using the original headphones and the headset controls and the home/menu/back buttons light up when i press the unlock key but that's about it.oh yes and i think i managed to unlock the screen even though it was totally back as i could could play/pause music and skip tracks using the screen controls (pressing where i guessed the music controls were).
