Galaxy S6 :: How To Store GPS Locations On Samsung Phone
Nov 9, 2015
How do I save locations on my Samsung S6 phone other than tagging photos? Would like to go to a saved location and have Google maps audibly tell me how to get there. Do I have to always take a picture? Don't want to do that.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S6. Recently I went for a overseas trip and connected to wifi in hotel over there. After I came back, I found there is no way to forget the saved wifi as I could not find it in my Wifi network list. There is a menu icon to see Saved Wifi when goes to Wifi Setting for the other mobile phone with Android Lollipop from other manufacturer, but that icon is missing from Samsung Galaxy S6. Is there any other way for me to forget those wifi networks saved in other place?
The GPS otherwise known as LOCATION always disables itself. I must activate it many times everyday. Is there a setting that will KEEP LOCATION activated?
I can no longer access my samsung account. I had previously disabled the app along with some other bloat. When I tried to access new themes I re-enabled the account app and corresponding apps as well. I can now no longer sync the account. Every time I go into Settings>Accounts, and select Samsung account it instantly opens and closes. I now can't sign in, or download themes. I cleared my cache already.
Whenever I'm at school my battery drains exponentially. Today I was writing a final exam and had my phone in my bag for 3 hours, in that time the battery dropped from 80% to 45%. I don't think my signal is the problem because I have 3-4 bars of lte at all times when I'm at school. As for optimizations I'm doing most of the tips erasat provided in his thread. I am connected to wifi too. The battery stats on the phone doesn't show anything is draining my battery. What could be the culprit?
Also this only happens when I'm at school not anywhere else. This has been going on ever since I got my s6 (3 months).
My question pertains to the different storage locations on the phone. I hope that I am making my question crystal clear.
About the “Internal Storage” folder on my phone. I noticed that when I take a picture using the phone’s camera, it automatically puts the picture in a folder called, “Camera.” I can see this folder when I open the “File Commander” on my phone, and I can view the picture this way. Also, I can view this picture by opening up the “Album” on my phone.
I noticed that when I open File Commander, I can also get to a bunch of folders under “Internal Storage.” I can create sub folders in this folder and move my pictures here, if I want to. If I move a picture to this location, it is no longer viewable by opening, “The Album.” But who cares. Not a big deal, as I can always just open the File Commander if I want to see my pictures.
Next – I connected my phone to my PC running Windows 7 and noticed that all the folders are recognized and show in windows explorer EXCEPT the “Internal Storage” folder.
My question is WHERE should I store my pics and videos and other files on my phone so that if the Android operating system were to fail and I had to reinstall it, the files would not disappear? If I make a file system under “Internal Storage” and save my files there, will the files be gone if the operating system has to be reinstalled or if I upgrade to a later version of the OS?
the play store in my galaxy S5 crashed and i had to clear its data, cache and finally uninstalled it. by so doing i somehow installed an older version of the play store. how do i return to what i originally had?
When someone calls me and I want to answer the call by swiping the green button I got nothing even I can't end the call by swiping the red button or even by pressing the lock key. I have to wait until the caller ends the call and then I call him back.
Recently an application requested me to download "NBA game time" to use an additional feature. I opted out of downloading it. But I have noticed that since then 3 out of 5 times I unlock my phone it unlocks to the NBA game time app page in the play store. I now don't remember which app suggested this download. So I assume it was the sports center app but can't find anything that would keep triggering this issue. I even download the app and deleted to see if it would stop but to no success...
I used it heavily to see if i breaks or not. It was working fine until yesterday when I felt it so hot.I couldn't hold it in my hand anymore to play so I put it aside for a couple of hours to get back.
I have rechanged my pin and cant remember what it is , ive spent hours trying and writting the codes ive typed in, is there any way to bypass this without the factory reset???
I know this has probably been asked and answered a thousand times but...I recently took over ownership of a Galaxy 2 from someone else in the family and only use internet through wifi as I dont have data included in my tariff. However, I just saw on latest bill, I have a load of charges for data usage!I have done various searches and there seems to be lots of solutions but no DEFINITIVE one that i have read? The most obvious one I have read is to switch the data mode off from the power button. Another is to deactivate packet data in the network menu (I would have thought the first action would do the same?). I have done both but the charges still continue. I assume then that some apps are running in the background and accessing at random times?
So is what I am describing a normal 'feature' of the phone? Why is the phone allowing apps to override a very high level user setting???If this is the case, my searching has now left me baffled. I have read about downloading apps to switch the 3G connection off? Also I read I could set the phone to run on 2G?Does setting the phone on 2G affect any other functionality? I would like to use the phone for everything else eg wifi gps etc. I just dont want any non wifi internet data usage at all permanently!Lastly, I believe with the network internet connection, I cannot send or receive mms at all? I guess I will have to accept that.
I can't find them in any files. They show up on my phone in the gallary. My phone is plugged into computer. I can see pics to transfer them, but no video.
I went to settings and then About Phone. Subsequently, I checked for updates and after that I tried updating my phone. The file size was around 12 MB after which it proceeded with rebooting the phone. Unfortunately my phone is not getting rebooted after the software update. It is stuck with the screen showing "Samsun Galaxy S2 GT-19100G". The welcome note with the music screen is also not appearing.
1/Why sync' a phone and is it necessary? Can someone explain sync' in simple terms,as I see it all you are doing is uploading from your pc.
2/My sons Iphone is sync'd on our pc will that interefere with my Galaxy when/if I sync' it?
We looked into sync' 2 Iphones but they kept robbing eachothers info.Apparently a pc log on is required for each Iphone, logging in to I tunes does not differentiate between users? Whilst that's ok for apps it's not so good for contacts, etc.Looking at Kies I can opt to sync' a lot better than the Itunes system,so I doubt if I'd have to sync' anything apart from updates to the firmware/software if I chose.
Ive got a new Galaxy S2 and after using it for a few days I now have a voice telling the weather and the time on the screen everytime I unlock the phone. What did I press to get it and how do I delete or mute it? I have not dowloaded any new apps. I only have the ones on the phone so far.
Have installed pdf reader app as well I have changed setting to no limit download size and auto download as previously suggested. I end up always getting file size 0 or incompatible file message.
