View 2 RepliesNew to the forum and only had my phone for a couple of days. I'd like some help though. I have moved a couple of apps to my Home Screen and now want to delete it from "Applications" but when I go to Applications and long press the icon and drag it to the trash bin it doesn't delete.

View 2 Replies View Relatedmy application (A.S.W.) on the android market has gotten several recent comments that it does not work on the Samsung Galaxy S2. I have been looking for an error in the application, have created an AVD using the S2 spec, but cannot recreate the error. Google Statistics tell me that there are 40+ users with the S2, however, I have gotten no crash/freeze reports from those users. At this point I am stuck and looking for some help to continue troubleshooting the problem, so I have come to this forum in hope of getting some detailed feedback on my applications performance on the S2. You can get the free app by searching the market, or the below link:[URL]Does the application freeze or crash? If so, when did it occur (starting a game, at the title screen, during game play, etc)what firmware are you using?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an Sii gt-i9100g running ICS 4.03 (non-rooted). Recently I've been getting an error when applications try to update: "Application cannot be installed in the default install location".
So I checked my phone storage.
phone memory: 1.97Gb
Applications: 647mb
Free: 247mb
USB storage has about 10.5Gb available.
I uninstalled a few applications I didn't need on a regular basis and then the phone was able to update the installed applications successfully. I went in to application management and there's no option to move the installed applications to USB storage (I don't have an external SD card). So this raises a few concerns:
1: How come there's a mystery 1.1 gigabytes that isn't accounted for in the phone storage? I thought all of Android ICS was stored in that missing 4GB of USB storage memory...
2: If the phone doesn't allow further installations to phone memory when there's only about 200mb available, and if the phone has reserved 1.1 gigabytes for some hidden purpose, then is it true that without buying an SD card, we only really have about 700MB available for applications?!
3: Why isn't the option to move applications to USB storage available under ICS? I believe this was available in Gingerbread.
I'm new to the SII, but if its the case that this supposedly 16GB device only truly has 700MB available for apps without an External SD card, then I'm gonna be pretty angry.
Do you know any application to restrict apps to connect to internet?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just today bought the new Samsung Galaxy S2 HD LTE.
I got one problem already, which I didn't really expect. It finds more less all wifi's, at least the once I know of. I still use my iPhone 4, so the iPhone connects without any problems, but my S2 LTE can't even find it.
Yesterday i've tried to use my s2 without alot of wireless and internet And guess what it took 50% only in 24 hours So i'm looking for something that control my network?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI know this has probably been asked and answered a thousand times but...I recently took over ownership of a Galaxy 2 from someone else in the family and only use internet through wifi as I dont have data included in my tariff. However, I just saw on latest bill, I have a load of charges for data usage!I have done various searches and there seems to be lots of solutions but no DEFINITIVE one that i have read? The most obvious one I have read is to switch the data mode off from the power button. Another is to deactivate packet data in the network menu (I would have thought the first action would do the same?). I have done both but the charges still continue. I assume then that some apps are running in the background and accessing at random times?
So is what I am describing a normal 'feature' of the phone? Why is the phone allowing apps to override a very high level user setting???If this is the case, my searching has now left me baffled. I have read about downloading apps to switch the 3G connection off? Also I read I could set the phone to run on 2G?Does setting the phone on 2G affect any other functionality? I would like to use the phone for everything else eg wifi gps etc. I just dont want any non wifi internet data usage at all permanently!Lastly, I believe with the network internet connection, I cannot send or receive mms at all? I guess I will have to accept that.
I've had my Galaxy S II for 5 months now and have always gotten it connected to my home's wifi. Now for some reason it's not connecting. My wifi is up and running fine (connected on my PC as I type this), the password is set fine for the Galaxy, but instead of connecting, Settings only says "Saved, secured with WPA/WPA2" after clicking "Connect". Signal strength is noted as "Excellent". I've tried re-entering the password several times, but the same results every time.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've just bought my first Samsung Galaxy S2 and love it to bits. The only problem I've encountered in the three days I've had it is that it won't connect via wifi to my home computer (a Mac). With my Mac's 'Airport' and 'Internet Sharing' turned on, my boyfriend can connect to wifi from the Mac to his iPhone but my S2 refuses to connect. Once I turn on wifi on the S2, under 'Wi-Fi networks' it brings up my computer and my neighbours' wifi networks. I click on my computer's name, type in the password, but then it just cycles from 'Scanning...', 'Connecting..' to 'Disconnected'. I've spent hours trawling Google for a solution. Under the 'Advanced' wifi settings I selected 'Use static IP' (but I'm not convinced I put in the right numbers under 'IP address', 'Gateway', 'Netmask' and 'DNS'). I don't know if it makes a difference but in System Preferences > Network > Airport, it says 'Airport has a self-assigned IP address and may not be able to connect to the Internet'. But my computer is clearly visible on the wifi network because my boyfriend could connect wifi from my computer to his iPhone.
View 9 Replies View Relatedi have a problem with my Samsung galaxy S2 nowadays with following detail: i can't use any application via wifi but can use all by packet data. FYI, my connection to wifi is fully correct and is in coverage area and normally signal strength is excellent, it mean i don't have any problem to connect to wifi in all places same as home, office or any other places. but i'm wonder that why i can't use any, yes any application even simple factory pre-installed applications same as google search when wifi is active but if i turn off my wifi and using packet data, all, yes all of applications working properly. FYI, my all applications worked properly before this problem raised (i'm not sure but seems my problme appeared when i backed from china trip which i changed my SIM card in china with a Chinese SIM card) so, i believe there is some mistake in setting which maybe occurred

I have pretty bad wi fi reception in my bedroom, however it's just sufficient for my phone to detect it and connect, but it drops out and syncing/downloading/loading web pages is very slow ad often fails.
Ill enable wi-fi, go back to it 3-4 mins later and it is greyed out (disconnected). I have to keep enabling it and this is getting annoying.
View 5 Replies View RelatedCan you use Allshare using only your phone's portable wifi hotspot?I've learned that I can stream videos from my SG2 to my PS3 via Allshare. The only broadband I have is through my mobile data plan with 3 (all you can eat data).Trying to use Allshare, I was told to use a wifi network. I just got rid of my Virgin broadband on the basis of my Mobile providing my broadband (and a damned sight better too).

View 9 Replies View RelatedMy new Galaxy s2 is having trouble connecting to my routers Wifi, a netgear DG834GUv5. I can get it to connect fine if I disable the routers security entirely, but I would not want to keep that up at all. I would like to be able to connect at home. I've been looking up things on the internet for days now, and am getting desperate.

View 6 Replies View RelatedYesterday I came across a strange problem with my SGSII. I realized that I cant access my gallery if wifi is switched on.If I turn off wifi, it works again. Any idea why this is happening? Restarting the phone didnt change anything. At first I thought it might be from some app, so I uninstalled the last 5 apps I downloaded, but nothing changed I'm positive that it was working fine before. It just happened all of a sudden.I have attached screen-shots of my phone info along with what my gallery looks like when it's not working.

But I have the Galaxy SII Skyrocket (AT&T) 2.3.5 and it scans but wont even pick up the signal. Tried reseting wifi on the phone, turning airplane mode on and off, made multiple networks to try and connect to but still no dice.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI got a Samsung Galaxy S II last week for the first time, and I noticed something odd. I can connect to my home secured Wi-Fi network just fine using the network credentials, but I can't seem to use free Wi-Fi networks like McDonalds for example when I am out and about...
The phone says that I have connected, but complains that I have no network connection at those times.
Since upgrading yesterday I have two questions. I have looked for ages but can't find the WPS button to connect to Wi-Fi. Secondly I hate the new smilies on SMS. They are plain green and small and you can't see what they are.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy S6. Recently I went for a overseas trip and connected to wifi in hotel over there. After I came back, I found there is no way to forget the saved wifi as I could not find it in my Wifi network list. There is a menu icon to see Saved Wifi when goes to Wifi Setting for the other mobile phone with Android Lollipop from other manufacturer, but that icon is missing from Samsung Galaxy S6. Is there any other way for me to forget those wifi networks saved in other place?

View 1 Replies View RelatedFew days ago I purchased SGS II, and few days later I purchased a Prolink USB Wireless Network Adapter To Create Wi-Fi connection between my pc internet and my mobile. and I am succeed
so, now my phone use my pc internet via wi-fi.
but I notice it only use for internet connection.
what I want, I also want to transfer at least send files to phone via wi-fi connection like Bluetooth does.. because I see wi-fi have enough data transfer speed. so, it is very ridiculous to look out for USB data cable to send/transfer any files from pc to phone.
My Samsung GS2 runnig on 2.3.4 has developed a problem. It keeps loosing Wifi connection at home. It connects then disconnects. It is becoming frustrating and annoying. I have uninstalled all apps and still no solution. I know others on here have had similar problems has a solution been found. I have switched the Wifi sleep to never. I have installed wifi fix which resolves it temporarily but then the connection falls off.
