I just today bought the new Samsung Galaxy S2 HD LTE.
I got one problem already, which I didn't really expect. It finds more less all wifi's, at least the once I know of. I still use my iPhone 4, so the iPhone connects without any problems, but my S2 LTE can't even find it.
Since upgrading yesterday I have two questions. I have looked for ages but can't find the WPS button to connect to Wi-Fi. Secondly I hate the new smilies on SMS. They are plain green and small and you can't see what they are.

View 5 Replies View RelatedOn my Android Eeepad tablet I can change the DNS by long-pressing the router id in WI-FI settings, then select the DNS1 field and insert a new DNS.But the hard-press routine doesn't work with my Galaxy SII. I can't find a way to get at the DNS setting. The only option that pops up is Forget Network.I want to set up my unrooted SII with a DNS from unotelly.com so that I can use their system to let me access Netflix USA from Canada. Although I can achieve access while at home merely by changing the DNS setting in my router, I'm not always on my home network and would like the SII to be able to access the unotelly DNS when I'm elsewhere.

Now I'm having trouble syncing the GSII with Outlook on my PC as I want.fter the last sync, I find that the contacts on the PC have all duplicated (2 of everything), and the contacts on the phone have all been removed.When I first set up Kies there were options to determine how priorities on new/changed contact records on phone and PC should be resolved. Now I can't find any settings for that. It's just the one 'sync' setting.

Unfortunately, it is locked to the O2 network and I need it on the orange network.Learning via google, I have rooted the phone, and tried the 'Galaxy S2 sim unlock' application to find the unlock code but it came back with the following message 'cannot find unlock code' Just wondering is there something I have done wrong? Also have an annoying yellow triangle with an exclamation mark that comes up every time the phone is rebooted.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've recently received a new samsung galaxy s6 with android 5.1.1 installed on it. first day everything went well no problems whatsoever, second day, i started to bump into some wifi issues which are now really pissing me off!
So the thing is, whenever i turn on wifi, 90% of the time, i can't find any connections. NONE! maybe after 10 minutes of leaving my phone i finally found one, and it isn't even my home connection.. I've been connected to my home wifi. And when i finally am connected the internet is so slow, i'd rather go back to my windows 98 pc and search via internet explorer, make the pc crash 5 times and still load the page faster than my cellphone.
When I try to add one of my contacts to "My People" it goes to my contacts but says "No Contacts" even though I have hundreds of contacts. Why won't my contacts link to "My People"? It is frustrating not to be able to use this feature.

And now my phone lost and disappeared from Samsung find my mobile both my s5 and s6. Is that a sign that are being used even though I blacklisted them. View 2 Replies View RelatedI know this has probably been asked and answered a thousand times but...I recently took over ownership of a Galaxy 2 from someone else in the family and only use internet through wifi as I dont have data included in my tariff.However, I just saw on latest bill, I have a load of charges for data usage!I have done various searches and there seems to be lots of solutions but no DEFINITIVE one that i have read?The most obvious one I have read is to switch the data mode off from the power button. Another is to deactivate packet data in the network menu (I would have thought the first action would do the same?). I have done both but the charges still continue. I assume then that some apps are running in the background and accessing at random times?
So is what I am describing a normal 'feature' of the phone? Why is the phone allowing apps to override a very high level user setting???If this is the case, my searching has now left me baffled. I have read about downloading apps to switch the 3G connection off? Also I read I could set the phone to run on 2G?Does setting the phone on 2G affect any other functionality? I would like to use the phone for everything else eg wifi gps etc. I just dont want any non wifi internet data usage at all permanently!Lastly, I believe with the network internet connection, I cannot send or receive mms at all? I guess I will have to accept that.
I've had my Galaxy S II for 5 months now and have always gotten it connected to my home's wifi. Now for some reason it's not connecting. My wifi is up and running fine (connected on my PC as I type this), the password is set fine for the Galaxy, but instead of connecting, Settings only says "Saved, secured with WPA/WPA2" after clicking "Connect". Signal strength is noted as "Excellent". I've tried re-entering the password several times, but the same results every time.

The only problem I've encountered in the three days I've had it is that it won't connect via wifi to my home computer (a Mac). With my Mac's 'Airport' and 'Internet Sharing' turned on, my boyfriend can connect to wifi from the Mac to his iPhone but my S2 refuses to connect. Once I turn on wifi on the S2, under 'Wi-Fi networks' it brings up my computer and my neighbours' wifi networks. I click on my computer's name, type in the password, but then it just cycles from 'Scanning...', 'Connecting..' to 'Disconnected'. I've spent hours trawling Google for a solution. Under the 'Advanced' wifi settings I selected 'Use static IP' (but I'm not convinced I put in the right numbers under 'IP address', 'Gateway', 'Netmask' and 'DNS'). I don't know if it makes a difference but in System Preferences > Network > Airport, it says 'Airport has a self-assigned IP address and may not be able to connect to the Internet'. But my computer is clearly visible on the wifi network because my boyfriend could connect wifi from my computer to his iPhone.

FYI, my all applications worked properly before this problem raised (i'm not sure but seems my problme appeared when i backed from china trip which i changed my SIM card in china with a Chinese SIM card) so, i believe there is some mistake in setting which maybe occurred

I have pretty bad wi fi reception in my bedroom, however it's just sufficient for my phone to detect it and connect, but it drops out and syncing/downloading/loading web pages is very slow ad often fails.
Ill enable wi-fi, go back to it 3-4 mins later and it is greyed out (disconnected). I have to keep enabling it and this is getting annoying.

Ever since I got my Sprint Galaxy S5 phone, it drops it's Wifi connection constantly. I have taken the phone back to Sprint and they assure me that it is fine. However, in the mean time it is still dropping the Wifi and now i am getting charged over usage charges for going over my 1GB limit..
