how to get the NFC (Near Field Communications) feature activated on the SG S2. Being NFC-ready was one of the main reasons why I decided to get this phone, yet having now gone through the entire User Manual, I have not seen anything in connection with this feature
View 5 RepliesI just today bought the new Samsung Galaxy S2 HD LTE.
I got one problem already, which I didn't really expect. It finds more less all wifi's, at least the once I know of. I still use my iPhone 4, so the iPhone connects without any problems, but my S2 LTE can't even find it.
On my Android Eeepad tablet I can change the DNS by long-pressing the router id in WI-FI settings, then select the DNS1 field and insert a new DNS.But the hard-press routine doesn't work with my Galaxy SII. I can't find a way to get at the DNS setting. The only option that pops up is Forget Network.I want to set up my unrooted SII with a DNS from unotelly.com so that I can use their system to let me access Netflix USA from Canada. Although I can achieve access while at home merely by changing the DNS setting in my router, I'm not always on my home network and would like the SII to be able to access the unotelly DNS when I'm elsewhere.

Now I'm having trouble syncing the GSII with Outlook on my PC as I want.fter the last sync, I find that the contacts on the PC have all duplicated (2 of everything), and the contacts on the phone have all been removed.When I first set up Kies there were options to determine how priorities on new/changed contact records on phone and PC should be resolved. Now I can't find any settings for that. It's just the one 'sync' setting.

Unfortunately, it is locked to the O2 network and I need it on the orange network.Learning via google, I have rooted the phone, and tried the 'Galaxy S2 sim unlock' application to find the unlock code but it came back with the following message 'cannot find unlock code' Just wondering is there something I have done wrong? Also have an annoying yellow triangle with an exclamation mark that comes up every time the phone is rebooted.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've recently received a new samsung galaxy s6 with android 5.1.1 installed on it. first day everything went well no problems whatsoever, second day, i started to bump into some wifi issues which are now really pissing me off!
So the thing is, whenever i turn on wifi, 90% of the time, i can't find any connections. NONE! maybe after 10 minutes of leaving my phone i finally found one, and it isn't even my home connection.. I've been connected to my home wifi. And when i finally am connected the internet is so slow, i'd rather go back to my windows 98 pc and search via internet explorer, make the pc crash 5 times and still load the page faster than my cellphone.
When I try to add one of my contacts to "My People" it goes to my contacts but says "No Contacts" even though I have hundreds of contacts. Why won't my contacts link to "My People"? It is frustrating not to be able to use this feature.

And now my phone lost and disappeared from Samsung find my mobile both my s5 and s6. Is that a sign that are being used even though I blacklisted them. Word on the street is that there may be a refreshed Samsung Galaxy Nexus coming. I wasrReading over at Android and Me and this thread caught my attention:The rumors state that there is going to be a refreshed camera. Possibly along the way of 8.0MP. On top of that, the processors are scheduled to be refreshed using The faster SGX544 GPU is included with Texas Instruments upcoming OMAP4470 processor. This is the successor to the original OMAP4460 found in the Galaxy Nexus, that includes the older SGX540 GPU.With the Sprint version of the Galaxy Nexus coming soon we'll have to wait and see if they are in fact getting a refreshed model or the LTE based model that Verizon has currently, Either way, I hope they do launch a refresh on the HSPA+ line as well. I use the Galaxy Nexus and while I love the phone, I wish the camera was better. Faster is always better as well so I'll take the processor bump.

I was wondering if someone who bought the phone from telus sells me this phone, would I be able to enjoy the 1 year manufacturer warranty? I understand that the warranty starts when the phone is first bought. I'm just wondering if that warranty will be transferred to me under these scenerios?

I just purchase my sg2 phone yesterday. Unfortunately, my brother has used my phone last night and register the Samsung account in it by using his email or id. When I tried to change the account, it cannot be done cause I have to do the factory reset in privacy setting (which will erase all my personal info and downloaded applications). I don't want that to happen as well. Plus, my my brother can't even remember what the password he has used for the Samsung account I'm very pissed off now that my Samsung account belong to him and the fact that I can't do the factory reset because of him. I'll mention again, he forgot the password he used for MY SAMSUNG ACCOUNT IN MY SG2.

not much difference in the galaxy family that i can imagine (although i haven't dug around to know exactly) but besides the fact that there is no where to place the stylus on the S2, will the stylus or "S - Pen" as i've read it called work with the phones? or is there something more technical involved that will not allow this to work? and if it does work, where do you buy one (or two or three as replacements) ;-)
