I bought a nexus yesterday and have been unable to register it with the American samsung site (no options for us canadians there) not to mention the fact that after typing in my serial the site says my handset was manufactured 1/31/1993!
On the canadian site which i have all my other samsung products registered, there is no listing for my model number (GT-I9250TSDTLS (this is whats on the box, phone menu just lists my model as Samsung Galaxy Nexus, though the label under that battery shows GT-I9250M as the model number..how am I supposed to register my phone?[URL]..shows that galaxy owners can get a free copy of angry birds space... how do I get that?
Word on the street is that there may be a refreshed Samsung Galaxy Nexus coming. I wasrReading over at Android and Me and this thread caught my attention:The rumors state that there is going to be a refreshed camera. Possibly along the way of 8.0MP. On top of that, the processors are scheduled to be refreshed using The faster SGX544 GPU is included with Texas Instruments upcoming OMAP4470 processor. This is the successor to the original OMAP4460 found in the Galaxy Nexus, that includes the older SGX540 GPU.With the Sprint version of the Galaxy Nexus coming soon we'll have to wait and see if they are in fact getting a refreshed model or the LTE based model that Verizon has currently, Either way, I hope they do launch a refresh on the HSPA+ line as well. I use the Galaxy Nexus and while I love the phone, I wish the camera was better. Faster is always better as well so I'll take the processor bump.
I am new to the Blackberry world. Just got a Torch 9850. Looked on the web site to register my phone but could not find anything. I am thinking that this may have occurred when I created a Blackberry ID. Also, I forgot my password with the BB ID. I believe my password is the email address they assigned.
Today in the Google Blog a very interesting post popped up:We started shipping Nexus phones more than two years ago to give you a pure Google experience and access to the latest Android updates. Today, weve started selling Galaxy Nexus (HSPA+) from a new Devices section in the Google Play web store, so you can quickly and easily purchase an unlocked version of the phone. We want to give you a place to purchase Nexus devices that work really well with your digital entertainment.
Galaxy Nexus by Samsung runs the latest Android software, Ice Cream Sandwich, with Google mobile services, Google Play and new features like Android Beam and Google+ mobile hangouts. It also offers a 4.65 HD Super AMOLED display thats perfect for watching movies, playing games or reading books on the go.
First available in the U.S., Galaxy Nexus costs $399 and arrives at your door unlocked, without a carrier commitment or contract. You can use it on the GSM network of your choice, including T-Mobile and AT&T. It also comes pre-installed with the Google Wallet app which lets you easily make purchases and redeem offers with a tap of your phone. Best of all, we'll give you a $10 credit to get you started with your new mobile wallet.
Weve come a long way since the first Android devices started hitting shelves three and a half years ago and since the launch of the first Nexus device. More than 300 million Android devices have been activated globally. Weve worked with developers and content partners to launch Google Play, offering more than 500,000 apps, millions of songs and books, and thousands of movies. And weve implemented new customer support services to improve the purchasing experience on Google Play. Weve taken all of this into consideration in designing Devices on Google Play. We hope to bring it to more countries soon.

Part of me is curious in thinking, did Google finally have enough of carrier involvement and lacklustre software updates. Are they trying to retake back their channel and get the store working. We all know Apple's retail model is a direct success. I would love Google to adopt apple's approach and tell the carriers to take it or leave it and sell direct as well.
After the Galaxy Nexus I will admit that i've been turned off Google. When all the different variants came up like Yakju and Yakjuux etc etc etc I immediately was left with a bad taste in my mouth. Was Google updating this phone, or was it Samsung Canada.
I want this to restore the perception that "Nexus" devices are Google devices, through and though
Just updated via Samsung Apps the camera firmware to a CDE11 or something version. Took 4 minutes to update and flash this firmware. I wonder what exactly it changed in the camera firmware? Hopefully improved things or bug fixes.I will test a few videos and see if the bitrate has changed or not.
I was thinking of buying the s2x telus version from craigslist. I was wondering if someone who bought the phone from telus sells me this phone, would I be able to enjoy the 1 year manufacturer warranty? I understand that the warranty starts when the phone is first bought. I'm just wondering if that warranty will be transferred to me under these scenerios?
1. If the seller had bought the phone from telus outright. a. If the seller has kept the original receipt and gives it to me. b. If the seller has lost the original receipt and does not provide me with it.
2. If the seller had bought the phone as an upgrade. a. if the seller has kept the original receipt and gives it to me. b. If the seller has lost the original receipt and does not provide me with it.
In case I do get to enjoy the warranty, will I be taking my phone to a telus store if it needs repair or will I send the phone directly to the manufacturer? I don't plan to use the phone with the telus network after I purchase it.
I just purchase my sg2 phone yesterday. Unfortunately, my brother has used my phone last night and register the Samsung account in it by using his email or id. When I tried to change the account, it cannot be done cause I have to do the factory reset in privacy setting (which will erase all my personal info and downloaded applications). I don't want that to happen as well. Plus, my my brother can't even remember what the password he has used for the Samsung account I'm very pissed off now that my Samsung account belong to him and the fact that I can't do the factory reset because of him. I'll mention again, he forgot the password he used for MY SAMSUNG ACCOUNT IN MY SG2.
Samsung Focus won't boot past "Samsung" logo after it show the red bettery low sign. And i have charged it for more than 3 hours. And tried for so many times including held back&search while starting, but it still do not work. Just show the Samsung. What i need to do? Its there better way if i want to keep my information in the phone?
I've lost the 4 digit user selected security lock code which is required to reset the phone.Virgin says Samsung should help recover the code and Samsung says Virgin should help recover the code.A while back, I found a code on the web that allowed me to go into a service menu which listed among other things the lock code. I can't find any information on how to get back into that menu.
By the way, yes, I tried the last 4 digits of the phone number, 0000, 9999, 1234.If anyone knows how to get into the service menu on this phone
The only codes I've found so far are:##786# which gets into an info menu but doesn't have the lock code.##33284# which requires a 6-digit security code which I don't know.
After having had a hard time with a very crappy SG3, I am a very happy user of the Nexus 5 for two months now. The only thing I miss a little bit is the easy way in which I could share my pics, movies etc to my Samsung TV (I have got a UE55ES8080 at home).
I tried to find apps like Samsung Allshare Play or something like it in the Playstore, but most of them are very badly rated and users recommend you to keep your fingers off them.
I definitely won't spend even more money on a Cromecast stick. Hey, I already got a TV that's supposed to be "Smart".
I have a display problem with one of my two phone. When you power on the phone the Samsung logo appear and off after that but the phone boot up OK just don't have any on the screen, I can make call or receive OK. I disassemble both phones and swap the main board and find out that nothing wrong with the LCD Screen but the Main board. The phone have BK03 bin and I loaded with CB23 bin and it working good now.
i've been searching all over the internet for the userlock code for the Samsung Freeform III, it's not the one it usually is for MetroPCS. i would like to get into the settings and be able to download mp3's and images via the web browser, and even possibly tether via USB or Bluetooth. If anyone knows this code, or can help me figure out what it is. That would be great.
Is there a way to program a shortcut or widget for the Record Audio feature in the Samsung Solstice? I have tried to no avail to find a way to do this. I want to take advantage of the feature, but as it is, I have to click menu, tools, record audio just to get started. Ideally I would love to have it available in the multi task button but I'm not hopeful this is possible.
I recently bought a used Samsung Flight online and it appears to be locked. The pictures in the posting all showed it unlocked, connected to Rogers etc and the phone is exactly as shown in the posting based on the nicks/marks on it. However, when I boot it up I am faced with a passcode. I've tried the standard 0000, 1234, 12345, 00000 etc but no luck. I've also messaged the seller but have not received a reply as yet.
A couple years ago my wife bought a Samsung Instinct M810. I flashed the phone to Verizon so she could use PagePlus. Everything has been working fine but the phone has really been beaten up. About the only thing that still works is the speed dial function.
A few days ago I found another Instinct in mint condition for her. I have been trying to flash it to Verizon with limited luck. I activated the phone with PagePlus and received a phone number ( I was planning on porting her number when I had everything working). The phone connects to Verizon but it can't connect to OTP. If I dial a number I get connected to Verizon with the message "Welcome to Verizon, unfortunately we cannot identify your phone, etc."
The problem is that when I dial *22890 (or any *228xx number)the signal bars vanish and there is an indicator showing no service and the call is dropped. After the call is dropped the signal returns and I can again connect to Verizon. I have tried several PRL's, even the one on my wife's current phone but it doesn't make any difference. I didn't have this much trouble with her other phone so I am at a loss.
The phone is stuck with "Silence all" on the screen at all times. It's not usable and I cannot make any calls, answer calls or send text messages. The menus also are not accessible as I thought about trying to do a standard or hard reset.I have tried using the volume button to cycle out of'Silence All", then "Vibrate All" shows but it automatically goes back to and stays on "Silence All".I even tried holding the FN-# key and the * key to see if it comes out it but it does not.
I have also tried removing the battery several times but it does not help.anyone have any ideas of how I can get it out of this mode or is the phone toast?
I have many programs to unlock phones such as Samsung A707 and many others,LG Shine and many others and many more.I have uploaded some of my programs on megaload but i guess i can email them to the people who may need them
I recently got the Samsung T528G from Straight Talk and started poking around in the phone. While they say this phone doesn't have GPS capability, I found some menus for LBS (location based services). Some of the test settings appear to reference GPS locations, specifically in Texas. I am not familiar with all of the options and settings in the LBS screen, but is it possible the phone has GPS capability but it's disabled? If so, does anyone know how to enable it or what settings I might try?
not much difference in the galaxy family that i can imagine (although i haven't dug around to know exactly) but besides the fact that there is no where to place the stylus on the S2, will the stylus or "S - Pen" as i've read it called work with the phones? or is there something more technical involved that will not allow this to work? and if it does work, where do you buy one (or two or three as replacements) ;-)
My Galaxy S II has the annoying habit of having its screen go into idle or sleep mode and then blacken when I'm on a call. I want to have the "Phone" screen showing up at all times when I'm on a call, so I can access the speakerphone, etc. Is there a way to "lock" the screen in "Phone" mode when I'm on a call?
ive googled it and a few people have reported it but then nothing has happened since. don't know what is causing it. there is rumours it could be the stock messaging app.
I can receive them fine and i can go on the net too. Just won't send them. comes back as failed every time
Im going out of my mind! I can use a third party app (go sms pro) and they send fine
Does anyone know if a version of the Galaxy S is going to be released with the AT&T 3g bands? I've heard AT&T is supposed to be receiving the Captivate, however, I have no interest in picking up a branded (and most likely crippled) phone. I wanted to purchase an unbranded and unlocked Galaxy S that supports AT&T 3g, but I search Google and the forums here and found no information about where to purchase one, or if one even exists. It shows on gsmarena.com that there is supposed to be a version of the Galaxy S with AT&T bands but I wanted to know if anyone has any information on where to purchase one or if one is actually going to be released and when.
