View 7 RepliesKies has always worked well for me, until I updated my GSII to ICS and updated Kies to the latest version. Now I'm having trouble syncing the GSII with Outlook on my PC as I want.fter the last sync, I find that the contacts on the PC have all duplicated (2 of everything), and the contacts on the phone have all been removed.When I first set up Kies there were options to determine how priorities on new/changed contact records on phone and PC should be resolved. Now I can't find any settings for that. It's just the one 'sync' setting.

-The phone can't take screenshots
-I can't seem to find the fingerprint scanner in the settings menu
- the phone is saying I have no space left on the internal memory although I have only got a few apps
- can't find out how to use swype
I have used an s2 n s3 before this so I know my way around touchwiz a bit. The phone has USB 3 n some of the Samsung apps. It also says its an s5 in the 'about phone ' section.
how to get the NFC (Near Field Communications) feature activated on the SG S2. Being NFC-ready was one of the main reasons why I decided to get this phone, yet having now gone through the entire User Manual, I have not seen anything in connection with this feature

I got one problem already, which I didn't really expect. It finds more less all wifi's, at least the once I know of. I still use my iPhone 4, so the iPhone connects without any problems, but my S2 LTE can't even find it.
On my Android Eeepad tablet I can change the DNS by long-pressing the router id in WI-FI settings, then select the DNS1 field and insert a new DNS.But the hard-press routine doesn't work with my Galaxy SII. I can't find a way to get at the DNS setting. The only option that pops up is Forget Network.I want to set up my unrooted SII with a DNS from unotelly.com so that I can use their system to let me access Netflix USA from Canada. Although I can achieve access while at home merely by changing the DNS setting in my router, I'm not always on my home network and would like the SII to be able to access the unotelly DNS when I'm elsewhere.

Unfortunately, it is locked to the O2 network and I need it on the orange network.Learning via google, I have rooted the phone, and tried the 'Galaxy S2 sim unlock' application to find the unlock code but it came back with the following message 'cannot find unlock code' Just wondering is there something I have done wrong? View 5 Replies View RelatedMy S2 has behaving a bit strangely now for a while, but after updating it to ICS it seems to have gotten worse!
The settings I use daily are (amongst other ones):-
- WIFI off
- bluetooth on
- ringer vibrate
- brightness 25%
Before ICS, when I switched the phone off and then on again, it would change the settings to the following:-
- WIFI on
- bluetooth off
- brightness 50%
After ICS update it now also resets the ringer to loud, not vibrate.
It seems to make the changes shortly after it boots. For example, I switch it on, put my pin in and the bluetooth is on, wifi off, ringer vibrate (as it was when it went off). However, shortly after my home screens have loaded with their icons, the BT, WIFI, brightness and ringer all change, almost as if it's loading some default settings.
I have the international version of Galaxy S2. I go into phone to display the log and I pick any of the settings, ie all calls, missed calls, etc. It displays the right information but when I exit and get back to it, it doesn't remember the settings, it goes back to ALL.

After rooting my phone, the settings icon was gone. i didnt care for awhile but after i few days, i recently came across lag and was forced to unroot and reset my phone. thinking that would do the job and bring my settings back, sadly it didnt. If I try to reset the outgoing email settings, everything is fine and the test appears successful. But when I try to send email I find that I receive message 'Connection error'. I am currently set to send emails without signing on, the port number is 25 and the SMTP server is [URL] I have tried signing in and changing the smtp address to others suggested on other sites, i.e [URL], but setup is never completed.

On my old phone I had a pin code lock for when the phone was turned on. The nearest I've seen to that is the encrypt device option.Has anyone any recommendations as to good practices for security on android phones, especially with the auto sync of some accounts needed for running which makes me want to lock the phone down tight should it get into undesirable hands.

View 2 Replies View Relatedi like the screen display nice and bright so when i go into - settings - display - brightness - menu i untick the automatic brightness box and move the slider almost all the way to the right and press ok to exit - leaving the automatic brightness box unticked .but the next time i go to use my phone either to text or make or receive a call somehow the automatic brightness box has a tick in it and the screen goes into the automatic brightness settings by going dim again .whatever i do and however many times i untick the automatic brightness box it still manages to tick itself the next time i use the phone?

Here is my proplem. when i select the video icon (the one that looks like a film strip) and start playing the video plays but then after it is done it plays the next one right after the one i played.
Is there a way to change the settings so it plays only the video i select?
I can set up my account and send/receive emails with no problem using either pop or imap, the problem I have is trying to then modify the 'Server Settings' to set the 'delete from server' option under 'incoming settings'. When I select 'incomming settings', username/password, 'done', nothing happens, I'm just returned back to the original settings screen that I originally selected 'incomming settings' from. What is also suspicious is the option for 'outgoing settings' is not listed at all, when I look at documentation the option for 'outgoing settings' is there under 'server settings' but not on my phone it's not.
