Samsung Galaxy S II :: Camera Stop Working Show Only 'Camera Failed' Message
Jun 3, 2011I just bought this phone a few days ago. I am very excited and start playing with the camera. after a few shots and a few mode change, the phone freeze and restart. then i open the camera app again it shows only black screen and a camera failed message
i tried using other camera app but it's no use. the phone has no warranty in my country so i could not have a replacement.
been to the samsung service center also but still no luck.

May 15, 2011Just updated via Samsung Apps the camera firmware to a CDE11 or something version. Took 4 minutes to update and flash this firmware. I wonder what exactly it changed in the camera firmware? Hopefully improved things or bug fixes.I will test a few videos and see if the bitrate has changed or not.

May 27, 2012Kies has always worked well for me, until I updated my GSII to ICS and updated Kies to the latest version. Now I'm having trouble syncing the GSII with Outlook on my PC as I want.fter the last sync, I find that the contacts on the PC have all duplicated (2 of everything), and the contacts on the phone have all been removed.When I first set up Kies there were options to determine how priorities on new/changed contact records on phone and PC should be resolved. Now I can't find any settings for that. It's just the one 'sync' setting.

Oct 4, 2012My S2 has behaving a bit strangely now for a while, but after updating it to ICS it seems to have gotten worse!
The settings I use daily are (amongst other ones):-
- WIFI off
- bluetooth on
- ringer vibrate
- brightness 25%
Before ICS, when I switched the phone off and then on again, it would change the settings to the following:-
- WIFI on
- bluetooth off
- brightness 50%
After ICS update it now also resets the ringer to loud, not vibrate.
It seems to make the changes shortly after it boots. For example, I switch it on, put my pin in and the bluetooth is on, wifi off, ringer vibrate (as it was when it went off). However, shortly after my home screens have loaded with their icons, the BT, WIFI, brightness and ringer all change, almost as if it's loading some default settings.

Oct 25, 2011I have the international version of Galaxy S2. I go into phone to display the log and I pick any of the settings, ie all calls, missed calls, etc. It displays the right information but when I exit and get back to it, it doesn't remember the settings, it goes back to ALL.

If I try to reset the outgoing email settings, everything is fine and the test appears successful. But when I try to send email I find that I receive message 'Connection error'. I am currently set to send emails without signing on, the port number is 25 and the SMTP server is [URL] I have tried signing in and changing the smtp address to others suggested on other sites, i.e [URL], but setup is never completed.

Jun 18, 2012Now that I'm getting to grip a little more with my SGS II then the next stage is to look at security. On my old phone I had a pin code lock for when the phone was turned on. The nearest I've seen to that is the encrypt device option.Has anyone any recommendations as to good practices for security on android phones, especially with the auto sync of some accounts needed for running which makes me want to lock the phone down tight should it get into undesirable hands.

The camera screen appears, and at the top of the camera screen is the settings gearwheel icon along with Auto, Off, HDR On and Effect.But, when tapping the settings gearwheel icon the Camera Settings menu appears for a fraction of a second before the screen reverts. I can't get at the Camera Settings no matter how many times I try; the menu is on for an instant - then gone, and the screen is as before.

Sep 3, 2015I just got my Galaxy S6 on Monday.
I've noticed that the front facing camera on my S6 will not focus on my face if I try to take a picture. The rear camera is wonderful, and I've looked at the front camera on a friend's S6 and it was fine. So it just seems to be my phone. Otherwise, I love it and think it's great.
But what's the deal with my blurry front camera?

Dec 3, 2012i like the screen display nice and bright so when i go into - settings - display - brightness - menu i untick the automatic brightness box and move the slider almost all the way to the right and press ok to exit - leaving the automatic brightness box unticked .but the next time i go to use my phone either to text or make or receive a call somehow the automatic brightness box has a tick in it and the screen goes into the automatic brightness settings by going dim again .whatever i do and however many times i untick the automatic brightness box it still manages to tick itself the next time i use the phone?

Samsung Galaxy S II :: Email Server Settings Modification?
Jun 11, 2012I can set up my account and send/receive emails with no problem using either pop or imap, the problem I have is trying to then modify the 'Server Settings' to set the 'delete from server' option under 'incoming settings'. When I select 'incomming settings', username/password, 'done', nothing happens, I'm just returned back to the original settings screen that I originally selected 'incomming settings' from. What is also suspicious is the option for 'outgoing settings' is not listed at all, when I look at documentation the option for 'outgoing settings' is there under 'server settings' but not on my phone it's not.

But as the SGSII is my first Android smartphone, please bear it with me and try to explain everything in layman's terms 1. In Contacts, what exactly does the "Merge with Google" option do (apart from displaying that little "g" icon next to a contact)? Also, after using it, I don't see to be able to revert the action - is it still possible?. Is it only possible to synchronize my Contacts with my Google account after the above mentioned "Merge with Google" action has been applied, or are they completely separate? E.g. if I add a new contact to my Phone, will it get synchronized with Google even if I don't Merge it with Google first?
3. Is it possible to also synchronize other contacts (like those from Facebook, LinkedIn, etc) in order to store them on my Google account for safety reasons4. Does the Google contacts synchronization work also the other direction, i.e. after I edit My Contacts on my Google accont, can I just use "Synchronize" in the SGSII to update the Phone contacts? Or do I need to delete all Contacts from my Phone first, and only then synchronize to the current Google version?5. I write messages/emails in English as often as I do in Polish. When I set Polish as the input language in Voice Recognition settings, and happen to compose a message in English using voice recognition, it often happens some Polish words are generated (and vice versa). I thought it would be logical if - apart from the global input language setting - the keyboard input language settings (changeable via the Space bar) - would eliminate the problem (ie. the VR engine should expect and use only English words when the keyboard is set to Eng, and so on) - but it doesn't seem to work.
