I'm having an issue trying to connect using WIFI in my browser. I cannot find anyplace to put in the username and password for my proxy server at work.I went into the advanced settings for WIFI and put the details for the proxy server in there, but when i browse i get a 'Proxy Authentication required' error in the browser but no prompt to fill in details.
View 1 RepliesAbout six weeks ago I suddenly could no longer access the internet using Firefox or the default Browser on my LG 3. I just kept getting a message which said "The proxy server is refusing connections". I went to my local Sprint store and after two hours of their playing around with my phone, I was told that I could use Chrome - for some reason you did not get the message with Chrome - or I could reset my phone to factory conditions. Not wanting to reset, I have been using Chrome. I last used it on 11-24 and it worked. As of today I cannot get to the internet with anything. Chrome issues the same message now. I am unable to find any Proxy settings. I am running Android 5.0.1, Kernal Version 3.4.0, Build # LRX21Y, Software Version LS990ZVC.

I can see there is no space for proxy setting in xperia phones. i mananged to put proxy in opera browser and now any surfing through opera is working fine in my office WAP/WPA2 enterprise Wifi wih proxy. is there any setting where we can enable other applications to use the same proxy setting as of the browser?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using an xperia x10 mini-pro handset, bought seperately in Australia. I then used it in NZ with no issues but when I returned to Australia and put a Virgin sim card in it I've had sooo many issues with my internet. According to Virgin, the network settings are correct and an update should have fixed this latest problem. I can access facebook but when I try to load a page using the browser it asks me to sign in with username and password, under access point names it has the same proxy number as the error mesage is coming up with.The guy at Virgin said other prople have had this issue and an update has fixed it but according to PC companion my phone is up to date. I did the repair/update process anyway and at least now I can sync and access the net with all my other apps as far as I can see.

At university we have a wlan using a proxy server, i set up my access point with proxy settings and port number. Web browsing works fine: when i start web browsing, i am asked to enter my user name and password. But the problem starts when i want to use applications like Vyke Mobile, Chat, E-mail. Somehow there is no connection. I searched the settings of these applications in order to see if there is some place i could enter a proxy/port number, but nothing worked. Any suggestions please, it's driving me crazy !!!!

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've looked around on the net but have not been able to find a solution to this problem.Using an N8 (on Nokia Belle), the WLAN settings does not seem to provide any place to specify the username and password for a proxy based network (Note:this is not the pre-shared key for the WLAN, but the username and password asked by the proxy server). When the browser is used, it prompts for the username and password and then works. However other applications cannot connect to this network as they seemingly lack this feature and the phone does not make this globally available.Nokia Configuration Tool (NCT) 6.3 seems to allow placement of username and password values. When configuration is transferred back to phone, NCT shows successfully configured, but this does not seem to be the case when the settings are used by the phone.

All the guides that I see on how to get the free WAP internet online all say enter Username. When I go into ##3282# Under user name then edit and I enter my MSL code I get User NAI, MN-AAA Secret, MN-HA Secret, SPI MN-HA, SPI MN-AAA, Rev Tun Pref, Home Address, Primary HA IP and Second HA IP. None of those have anything with entering my user name or password that is need to be entered to connect to the proxy. I tried putting the Username in User NAI but that requires an e-mail not just a username. Please help. I have the phone currently on a sprint plan and I really doubt anyone there could or would tell me how to do this.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMost applications don't seem to have an exit option and the only way I know to close them is the via the "Back" button at bottom right.
In the native Web Browser this button doesn't close the browser but just goes back to the last web page; and then the next last, etc until it runs out of previous pages and then closes.
It's an awful way of closing the browser, going back though all previous pages; and often there are warnings that you may be re-posting data again.
If I press the left menu button I can get to "Windows" and if there are more than one there is a "minus" sign top right allowing it to be closed. But when there is only one window there is no minus sign.
So if I've been doing some interaction with my bank and want to close the single main window I have to select "Menu", "Windows", create a "New window", select the new window, go back to the "Menu" choose "Windows" again, find the minus sign on the original window press to close it, then go back to the new window and press "Back" to close that one.

so in the Option > advance setting > TCP/ip i set my APN to mtnirancell but still i cant get and send or recive over EDGE.i have to setup Wap Proxy and Http.so how can i setup these stuff in my BB? the Service provider cant help me cuz they dont even know Blackberry.

how to close the Internet browser on the S2. After viewing several pages via links I don't know how to exit the browser. If I just exit the app by pressing the Home button it means that the next time I tap the Internet button it takes me immediately to the last page I was viewing. Surely that's wrong and there must be some way of closing the browser properly.

I've come from an iPhone 3GS where in order to scroll within drop down lists in the browser, you use two fingers to scroll up and down, then 1 finger to make your selection. This doesn't seem to work on the Galaxy S2. Is there another multitouch way to interact with drop down lists?or example, a site requested my date of birth and the drop down list for year started at 1902 and showed the next five years. Now I'm having trouble syncing the GSII with Outlook on my PC as I want.fter the last sync, I find that the contacts on the PC have all duplicated (2 of everything), and the contacts on the phone have all been removed.When I first set up Kies there were options to determine how priorities on new/changed contact records on phone and PC should be resolved. Now I can't find any settings for that. It's just the one 'sync' setting.
