Xperia X10 Mini/pro :: Browser Asking Me To Sign In To A Proxy?

I'm using an xperia x10 mini-pro handset, bought seperately in Australia. I then used it in NZ with no issues but when I returned to Australia and put a Virgin sim card in it I've had sooo many issues with my internet. According to Virgin, the network settings are correct and an update should have fixed this latest problem. I can access facebook but when I try to load a page using the browser it asks me to sign in with username and password, under access point names it has the same proxy number as the error mesage is coming up with.The guy at Virgin said other prople have had this issue and an update has fixed it but according to PC companion my phone is up to date. I did the repair/update process anyway and at least now I can sync and access the net with all my other apps as far as I can see.

I can see there is no space for proxy setting in xperia phones. i mananged to put proxy in opera browser and now any surfing through opera is working fine in my office WAP/WPA2 enterprise Wifi wih proxy. is there any setting where we can enable other applications to use the same proxy setting as of the browser?

Mainly happens while on facebook mobile, and will occure while typing completely randomly. The reply from support is simply update software, I can't see why I have to do all this, as apart from anything else I don't currently have a phone line for internet due to illegal BT sales activity! It is also suggested that I send phone off in a jiffy bag to be repaired if unsuccessful, and what do I do for a phone in the mean time?? Not only that they suggest that it will cost me if it is not a fault they cover.

I'm having an issue trying to connect using WIFI in my browser. I cannot find anyplace to put in the username and password for my proxy server at work.I went into the advanced settings for WIFI and put the details for the proxy server in there, but when i browse i get a 'Proxy Authentication required' error in the browser but no prompt to fill in details.

i have Unlocked Bold 9000 with 5.0.0.822 firmware..i dont have any BIS/BES data plan here i can only use EDGE or GPRS.my network provider just gave me these info

so in the Option > advance setting > TCP/ip i set my APN to mtnirancell but still i cant get and send or recive over EDGE.i have to setup Wap Proxy and Http.so how can i setup these stuff in my BB? the Service provider cant help me cuz they dont even know Blackberry.

My web browser works perfectly fine.But none of the applications that access the internet - such as gmail, facebook, market, etc. work. They show a "connectivity error" kind of message. am led to think whether there is some global setting that these applications use, which doesn't allow them to access the internet settings somehow?I did a factory reset, I also used the Sony Ericsson update service and did an upgrade to Android 2.1...

I want to surf the web on my X10i using my company's Wi-Fi.I was able to connect to the netowork fine, but I could not enter the Proxy settings to allow me through. I tried via PC companion, but it stops at the second phase ("prepare") telling me it's "Unable to install or start phone software update components". I looked at the forums and I found out a lot of people seem to have a problem with PC companion, so I tried Update Service. At startup, it says "Proxy login required".

My wife accidently going through her contacts went to the very top where there's a drop down menu for Phone or Contacts. It went to Contacts. Now whenever she goes to her contacts a message pops up saying Sign In or Sign Up to OVI. She's been on the phone now with Nokia for 2 hours trying to resolve.Anyone out there have any ideas?
And by the way, are other brands of phones this bad, what with setting up loops like this can't be broken. Or, like what I've read here and elsewhere, all the problems with the Lock Code? I mean, it seems Nokia needs to go back to the drawing board and work on their user interface.
