Xperia X10 Mini/pro :: GPRS Settings Downloaded - Browser Giving Error No Internet Connection
Jul 28, 2011
I cant connect to internet using x10 mini pro. I have downloaded gprs settings but when I use the browser. It give an error no internet connection. I have tried everything in the support page but no luck.
i m having the xperia x10mini which i got unlock from my brother and i would like to setup the gprs for internet on it. in the phone settings there is a tap for phone settings but it is not working for me. and still i have the 1.6 android os i tried to download it but it did not update also..
i am using GPRS services for now almost an year and half. i was having windows mobile till 16th Sept'11 on which i was using gprs very happily but on 17th Sept'11, i did purchase Xperia mini from G. V. Puntambekar(Pune based dealer). The phone is now installed OS as Andriod 2.3. Ever since i have purchased the phone i am not able to use GPRS services on it. I did speak to Airtel (my current service provider) and whatever settings they have given but not able to save them on my phone bcoz it asks for MCC and then MNC code. hence after talking to Airtel somehow i got these code. but depite of entering them into the settings along with other settings, i am still not able to use gprs. i was told that once you save the gprs manual settings it creates a profile on phone but it is not saving any profile on my phone. Sony dealer is sayingthat it is a service provider problem and Service provider is saying that we have given you all the settings so it is a phone manufacturer's problem. I am getting penalised in these two contradictory statements. Without GPRS the phone is like any ordinary phone. I feel like cheated even after paying Rs.13000/- and buying Sony's product. Feels like lesson learnt that never buy SONY product again..
For a while now ive been having problems with my email on my mini pro, i have my hotmail email account linked to my device and set as my default however just recently every now and then for no apparent reason and without warning my emails stop coming in and i have to perform a battery pull to get them to start working again, sometimes i have to do this twice as the first time, when i go back into my inbox, it says 'network error, unable to connect to server' ive checked my incoming mail settings and everything looks fine and there doesnt seem to be any pattern to it it just happens every month.
I am residing in India and recently purchased a new xperia x10 mini pro....I am trying to access internet through GPRS service of the service provider....wifi is working perfectly but everyplace is not under the network.....I have successfully installed and configured the settings of service provider for access of internet through GPRS and able to run a few webpagessuch as google and facebook on the default web browser of the devicehowever, i am not able to connect certain default applications provided in phone such as gmail, gtalk etc.and even opera mini is not responding toany activity happening through the GPRS..to make certain changes with the settings or perhaps set any settings as default settings for access of interneti already have a wifi enabled network at my home but i want to access internet at my workplace too which is far from the city and is not connectedthrough WIFI
My web browser works perfectly fine. But none of the applications that access the internet - such as gmail, facebook, market, etc. work. They show a "connectivity error" kind of message. am led to think whether there is some global setting that these applications use, which doesn't allow them to access the internet settings somehow?I did a factory reset, I also used the Sony Ericsson update service and did an upgrade to Android 2.1...
My main email account is with yahoo and although I've entered the pop3 and then the imap settings that yahoo tell me are correct, I cannot get the email set up on my phone. how to do this without having to access my account via internet browser?
I know there is a way to chat with your msn friends without internet connection. you have to send a msj "ON" to a number and "OFF" when you want to log off. Ex: On I can't remember the number.
I like to change my browser settings but can not find the toolbar to select the right buttons. How to I get the toolbar back, I only have the bookmark option.
How to use my dell latitude e6410 laptop with windows 7 to turn into wifi hot spot and the access internet using wifi of xperia mini pro.how to view files transferred to phone? when i open the gallery i can't see any folder ? please let me know how to view files on sd card?
I've been using my X10 Mini for about 3 months now. This is my first Android/smartphone device.I've been shocked so many times at the unbelievable cost of internet usage (or related) costs on the device. I'm currently in Italy (for now) and the costs here are even worse than at home. Totally, totally shocking. What I'd like to do is identify and understand, then control all the settings related to this. I hope this helps out others in the future.
1 Settings, Wireless & Network, Mobile Network, DATA ROAMING, DATA TRAFFIC . So roaming for outside your usual network, traffic is WHAT? Allow internet in general?
2. Settings, Accounts & Sync, BACKGROUND DATA, this is what? Allow apps to use internet? E.g. for weather apps etc.?
3. Anything related to GPS (various settings in location services and wireless) should be hunted down and switched off.
I've used phones since I was about 12. I've been a tech geek for as long as I know, very early adopter of 3G blah blah but I'm surprised by the complexity of the internet options on these android devices and shocked by the million ways they steal your credit.
After speaking to O2 for a few days now to send me the Internet and MMS Settings which failed to download each and every time, they have now sent me

I have a problem with my xperia mini pro, it happens that I have a data plan and I cannot go online, do not know if the problem of software or equipment.

I just wanted to know how can I delete my earlier service providers GPRS settings so that i can install my present service providers GPRS settings in X10_mini cellphone
I'm getting a "Network connection lost" error shortly after the installation of a downloaded app is started. The status bar gets to about 15% and then the installation is interrupted. I've tried using WiFi and non-WiFi connections, but the result remains the same. My N8-00 was upgraded to the Belle OS over the weekend and it caused most of the apps to be uninstalled. Now I'm trying to get them back but fail to do so because of the error.
My 8 month old X8 which I recently upgraded to android2.1 gets very hot while using 3G or GPRS internet services, and the stock battery doesn't even lasts for a day after a full recharge since the update. Performance is set for optimum battery life but it doesn't facilitate. Are these two problems related?
I have an unlocked TELUS Storm playing GSM on a Philippines carrier called Smart. The data connection and call reception quality here has been nothing but horrible. Dropped calls/Calls failed, etc are pretty rampant around here (no matter what part of town you're in)
Anyway, I'd _like_ to think it may be something to do with the fact that the device is not Smart authorized/sold device. However, the backward nature of cellphone networks here could argue me down.
Long story short, now that you know my troubles.. when I'm on a full GPRS/EDGE connection, I pull up the browser. Once I start getting ready to type in a URL, the GPRS/EDGE goes to gprs/edge. It happens about 98% of the time. This same thing happens when I go to URL from an email/sms etc. I can't seem to figure it out. I've been on .328, but upgrading to .419 as we speak. Thoughts would be nice.
I purchased it new. It worked fine for a week or so, then I switched to another network operator. When I try to connect automatically it says "Registered on network" but there is no signal. I changed 3 sim cards so far. Still the same. When I put the sim card in another phone that also works, the other phone manages to find the signal. I put back the sim card in my Xperia, it works fine until for some reason I have no signal and the circle continues. I love my phone, I want it to work, with this provider. I am very annoyed. The network provider doesn't know what could it be, they blame the phone. But the phone works with other providers with no problem so I assume it is something else.I did a factory settings restore, I checked for updates.
I have a Nokia N97 and am having a couple of problems with it.Software Version 20.0.0.019. (There is an update to v2.1, but when I check for updates it says that no updates are available, so to double check I typed my code into the "check if my device is compatible with upgrade etc..." and it says that the current compatible version is 20.0.0.019.
Are some N97's compatible with the update and others not?The most annoying problem I have at the moment is that even when a WLAN network is available, setup and tested as being able to be used for surfing the web or for applications, there are some applications (Ovi Store is one of them), that refuse to use the WLAN and instead wants to use the much more expensive internet provided by GPRS I think..
So I tried deleting the GPRS connection (in destinations/internet) in an effort to stop the software for selecting that connection and hopefully defaulting or allowing me to select my wireless network, which were all set with a higher priority than the GPRS connection, even before I deleted it.
Imagine my amusement when it still wanted to use the GPRS connection, and somehow managed to, even though the connection is no longer setup on my N97.Does anyone know if there is a setting I am overlooking or something I am missing?
Mainly happens while on facebook mobile, and will occure while typing completely randomly. The reply from support is simply update software, I can't see why I have to do all this, as apart from anything else I don't currently have a phone line for internet due to illegal BT sales activity! It is also suggested that I send phone off in a jiffy bag to be repaired if unsuccessful, and what do I do for a phone in the mean time?? Not only that they suggest that it will cost me if it is not a fault they cover.
