how to successfully browse the internet, use Market app, etc, with my X8 when connected to a Wi-Fi WITH PROXY AUTHENTICATION.So far, no go!Is Sony Ericsson planning to release a fix for that? Or is SE just going to leave it as is?This is my first SE phone and because of this limitation, it is going to be the last! Moreover, I was planning to give a SE phone to my mom at Mother's day and, guess what, I bought her another brand!
I want to surf the web on my X10i using my company's Wi-Fi.I was able to connect to the netowork fine, but I could not enter the Proxy settings to allow me through. Any ideas how to do this? and please don't tell me it is not available because I might as well reutrn this phone because I just bought it few days ago.
I'm using an xperia x10 mini-pro handset, bought seperately in Australia. I then used it in NZ with no issues but when I returned to Australia and put a Virgin sim card in it I've had sooo many issues with my internet. According to Virgin, the network settings are correct and an update should have fixed this latest problem. I can access facebook but when I try to load a page using the browser it asks me to sign in with username and password, under access point names it has the same proxy number as the error mesage is coming up with. The guy at Virgin said other prople have had this issue and an update has fixed it but according to PC companion my phone is up to date. I did the repair/update process anyway and at least now I can sync and access the net with all my other apps as far as I can see.
Hey can anyone help me with setting proxy settings on applications? At university we have a wlan using a proxy server, i set up my access point with proxy settings and port number. Web browsing works fine: when i start web browsing, i am asked to enter my user name and password. But the problem starts when i want to use applications like Vyke Mobile, Chat, E-mail. Somehow there is no connection. I searched the settings of these applications in order to see if there is some place i could enter a proxy/port number, but nothing worked. Any suggestions please, it's driving me crazy !!!!
About six weeks ago I suddenly could no longer access the internet using Firefox or the default Browser on my LG 3. I just kept getting a message which said "The proxy server is refusing connections". I went to my local Sprint store and after two hours of their playing around with my phone, I was told that I could use Chrome - for some reason you did not get the message with Chrome - or I could reset my phone to factory conditions. Not wanting to reset, I have been using Chrome. I last used it on 11-24 and it worked. As of today I cannot get to the internet with anything. Chrome issues the same message now. I am unable to find any Proxy settings. I am running Android 5.0.1, Kernal Version 3.4.0, Build # LRX21Y, Software Version LS990ZVC.
When I start or reply to a thread on my fantasy football league's message board using my Blackberry Bold 9650, I get a kinds of proxy setting and IP Addresses in the message part of the email. The sender of the message is mail, not even my name or email address. I contacted Verizon, they said it was a CBS website problem. I contacted CBS, they said it was BB problem.

I'm having an issue trying to connect using WIFI in my browser. I cannot find anyplace to put in the username and password for my proxy server at work.I went into the advanced settings for WIFI and put the details for the proxy server in there, but when i browse i get a 'Proxy Authentication required' error in the browser but no prompt to fill in details.
I've looked around on the net but have not been able to find a solution to this problem.Using an N8 (on Nokia Belle), the WLAN settings does not seem to provide any place to specify the username and password for a proxy based network (Note:this is not the pre-shared key for the WLAN, but the username and password asked by the proxy server). When the browser is used, it prompts for the username and password and then works. However other applications cannot connect to this network as they seemingly lack this feature and the phone does not make this globally available.Nokia Configuration Tool (NCT) 6.3 seems to allow placement of username and password values. When configuration is transferred back to phone, NCT shows successfully configured, but this does not seem to be the case when the settings are used by the phone.
Anyone know when Gingerbread is released for the Droid X if it will support configuring a Proxy Server for WiFi? I noticed Motorola just recently provided an update for the Droid Pro to allow proxy settings. This sure would be helpful for those of us using the DX for business.
I am trying to use PC suite to connect to internet. It says connected but nothing works. I need to define proxy settings but I cant find where to. In help it says if it uses proxy settings uncheck server settings but I cant find any of this.

Using a MS Exchange account , if I delete a message on my iPad, how can I ensure it is not deleted off the server? I know how to do this with POP accounts on the iPhone but I can't find the same option on the MS Exchange account settings on the iPhone.
When I try to configure settings for organizer into blackberry desktop software, send me a box the intellisync with unknown error reported, and can not do nothing.
Somehow i'm not able to access my settings anymore. It gives the following error code (translated from dutch) 'The application 'Settings' (proces com.android.settings) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again'.I haven't downloaded any new apps recently, no new SIM or SD. I've already tried removing battery, SIM card etc. and putting them back in.
i m having the xperia x10mini which i got unlock from my brother and i would like to setup the gprs for internet on it. in the phone settings there is a tap for phone settings but it is not working for me. and still i have the 1.6 android os i tried to download it but it did not update also..
i am using GPRS services for now almost an year and half. i was having windows mobile till 16th Sept'11 on which i was using gprs very happily but on 17th Sept'11, i did purchase Xperia mini from G. V. Puntambekar(Pune based dealer). The phone is now installed OS as Andriod 2.3. Ever since i have purchased the phone i am not able to use GPRS services on it. I did speak to Airtel (my current service provider) and whatever settings they have given but not able to save them on my phone bcoz it asks for MCC and then MNC code. hence after talking to Airtel somehow i got these code. but depite of entering them into the settings along with other settings, i am still not able to use gprs. i was told that once you save the gprs manual settings it creates a profile on phone but it is not saving any profile on my phone. Sony dealer is sayingthat it is a service provider problem and Service provider is saying that we have given you all the settings so it is a phone manufacturer's problem. I am getting penalised in these two contradictory statements. Without GPRS the phone is like any ordinary phone. I feel like cheated even after paying Rs.13000/- and buying Sony's product. Feels like lesson learnt that never buy SONY product again..
i have successfully upgraded to 2.1.Still facing some problems...My Notification tone always beeps with a vibrating mode as well...When i tried to disable the vibration mode, To my surprise i could not find SMS settings option in the SettingsSonyericsson?? menu....i have settings for camera, timescape only..So shud i repair my upgrade?
i was just wondering if i can change the settings for my camera such as, the photo's size or can it zoom while taking a picture? i'm quite confuse on how to use the camera. i don't know where is the settings for camera.
I gladly installed the 2.1 update on my girlfriends mobile and everything worked fine. However, under "Settings - Language&Keyboard" there is NO menu item for Android keyboard.... As it appears, she uses the standard T3 enty mode and simple does not like the recommended words. There is no way to set it back now and I am thinking about playing it back to 1.6 despite the advantages coming with it.
