Feb 6, 2010I attempted to access www.cnbc.com but N900 redirected the browser to m.cnbc.com instead. Could anyone tell me how to set N900 to direct me to the main www.cnbc.com?

Mar 6, 2011Mainly happens while on facebook mobile, and will occure while typing completely randomly. The reply from support is simply update software, I can't see why I have to do all this, as apart from anything else I don't currently have a phone line for internet due to illegal BT sales activity! It is also suggested that I send phone off in a jiffy bag to be repaired if unsuccessful, and what do I do for a phone in the mean time?? Not only that they suggest that it will cost me if it is not a fault they cover.

Jul 2, 2010my Nokia Web Browser after the site is completely loaded the broswer goes into full screen view mode and doesn't get back to its normal mode making it impossible for me to exit it manually which makes me yurn off my phone and then exit. Douple tapping doesn't help I have tried that it zooms in the and zooms out nothing else.

Mar 3, 2010Does anyone know how to change the default font of the MicroB Browser on N900? I would like to change it to "Droid Sans Bold" to make it easier on my eye, or at least change it to a larger font so I can see better. I looked at the ./.mozilla/microb/prefs.js file. It has nothing related to the font per se. I also experimented on changing the about:config but no avail. I don't know which font parameters (fix, variable and unicode) for U.S.A.

Jan 16, 2010i have a bluesocket connection in my university that requires a username and password and the first time i opened my browser i was asked to accept the certificate this is usual i also get this on the desktop browser. so i added the certificate as an exception and was directed to the bluesocket page where i was able to enter my username and password and hence then when ever i open my browser and try to open a link my n900 restarts. it has happened when i tried to install applications as well. what do u think the problem is....is it a certificate issue or a browser issue or a phone issue can anyone help me please. if you need any logs please do ask with instructions on how to get them.

I also have frequent browser crashes although most people say that is related to low RAM. Since I have nothing else running in the background I question that conclusion. The biggest problem is the secure site problem.

Mar 19, 2012The browser on my Nokia 701 is great -certainly much better than past versions- but websites 'see' it as a full size browser and so deliver it full size web pages. I have found this leads to much dragging and zooming. If the site also has pop-ups (which can fully obscure the screen!) this can lead to misclicks, impossible to navigate sites etc. Also full size webpages are slow to load and more expensive on data.
This issue has led me to either manually navigating to the mobile versions of the websites I like (bit of a pain) or to simply use the Opera Mini browser instead. The Opera browser is free and websites 'recognise' it as a mobile browser. This means without any work when I surf I instantly get the mobile version of the website I want (assuming one exists), easy to navigate and fast (and so cheaper) to load. In many cases this works much better for me.
So I think Nokia have missed a trick here. Maybe they should offer a feature whereby the user can tell their browser to find either mobile-friendly pages or normal ones. They could even add in a second browser shortcut, one which launches the Nokia browser in a 'mobile' mode.
Now running a 701, beautiful phone to handle and use...now that it has stopped sending my personal information to Nokia via 360Panel [rolls eyes]
