BB Torch 9800 :: How To Access Options In Browser Settings To Select Which Type Of Browser It Viewed Webpage As
Aug 23, 2010
When I had my 8310 curve there were a crapload of options in the brower settings and one of them was to select which type of brower it viewed the webpage as, (blackberry, IE, etc.)
anyways, I'd like to know if this option still exists, because I'm trying to access a mobile website but its coming up as the full website. When I tried putting an m. in front of the website it didnt work so I'm not sure how to access it.
How do i view the full version of a webpage when it automatically redirects me to the mobile version? Example: when I go to www.nascar.com it automatically takes me to m.nascar.com . I read somewhere that there was an option or easy way to do this.
I like to change my browser settings but can not find the toolbar to select the right buttons. How to I get the toolbar back, I only have the bookmark option.
When i'm using the browser the Blackberry Logo Button doesn't seem to work. If I hold it I can switch programs but it wont open the menu where the options are. The button works fine with other applications! I tried wiping the blackberry but it's just not making any difference! I'm so frustrated, I only got the phone the other day!
I properly close out open Windows (I think). How I can make it just open to the homepage whenever I launch it? I'm using whatever the default browser is ...
Does anyone know how to access the Browser Configuration on OS 6's browser? I want to set it to Internet Explorer and don't know how. It seems to have disappeared. I knew how to do it on the old software but since I upgraded I can't.
Did I see that right? If so that sux. There are a lot of times I want to see the full version of websites not the web version.Maybe I am just stupid and didn't understand what I saw or how it works, but on my 9000 I can change the browser identification to say Firefox and get the full web page to load.
Torch 9800. Browser won't open. Also if I select a hyperlink, the browser won't open either. I have tried rebooting the device but did not have any luck.
I just purchased the 9800 and I need to change my default browser. On the 9700 you can go to Settings/Options/Advanced Options/Browser and then change the default browser settings.
Has anyone been able to add RSS feeds from the browser. The documentation claims you can, by going to the site that has RSS on it and hitting the menu button, then hitting Page Action. No such Page Action option is in my browser.
I have apps that work over 3G when wifi is off, so I have to have a working data plan right?Exchanged phones about 3 hours ago. I received the messages from AT&T about the device being registered. Everything seems to work.
I have a huge problem, I tried downloading a couple of paid apps...(Yes I paid for them) and when I go to the download link, which is an OTA link. I get this message "This page is only for OTA downloads using BlackBerry Browser, and it seems you are using some other browser." Is there anyway to fix this like change the identity of the browser, if so Please Help I will appreciate it.
My BB torch 9800 browser gets closed automatically as I enter text in field for facebook or twitter. Also, the text field gets blue and i can only enter text upto certain characters not even a complete line and browser gets closed.
I was running a few tests to see check speed of my browser on my home network over ATT. When I disable the Mobile Network and enable wifi to my home network, I get an error in my browser "You are not currently in an area that can handle data communication".
I connected successfully to my home network as shown by status on top of home screen. Is there another setting I need to select to 'force" use of my home network? I used to have this in my BOLD settings under browser options, but from what I read the connection switch is supposed to happen automatically on the Torch browser.
I am now on my 3rd replacement Torch 9800 with Orange. When browsing on the mobile network the browser keeps jamming. The only way to reset the phone is to pull the battery. Typically I have to reset the phone at least 4 times a day. I have now got the App QuickPull which enables a soft reset without pulling the battery.
I had many blackberry before my new torch 9800 and it is working good but now i couldn't connect/browser to internet efen though my blackberry messagener is working good. This is the message i always received during trying to open internet : "unable to connect to internet, please try again letter. If the problem persist please contact your service provider."
I'm having a problem with my home wireless network and my Blackberry Torch. My phone is able to locate and connect to my home wireless network, but when I attempt to browse the internet, I get the following message: "Unable to connect to the internet, please try again later. If the problem persists please contact your service provider My internet and wireless network are working fine. I connected my desktop computer to the wireless network and browsed the internet without issue, my wife's phone (iPhone4) works without problem on the wifi network, and I checked with my internet service provider- they see no problems as well.On a hunch, I drove down to a local Starbucks to find a wifi hotspot. I found one, connected to it, and browsed the internet without any error messages. So now it appears that when I connect to a free wifi hotspot everything's fine but with my home network I get the error message above. The only thing I changed was the network.
Starting yesterday afternoon, I am unable to access an internet browser or open any link on my Torch. I do not have WiFi turned on. The device almost appears to 'freeze' when I am attempting this action. I have completely cycled off and back on....
I can't download blackberry appworld, my facebook, twitter are not working, but I managed to download opera mini browser and I have been using that to access facebook, twitter and other web pages.
Pulled the battery on my phone today and now Browser does not have the options to seach via a search engine. Its just an address bar. Ex. If I type yahoo, it will just go to [URL] It used to show the search engines I could use. Also, in the options it would let me choose my default before, now there is nothing in the options about search engines.
I have been trying out different types of internet browsers: the native version, opera, firefox, dolphin and skyfire.Reason being is because I am investigating the cause of the random reboots my device is facing.I've tried to reduce all settings: No bluetooth, removed syncing, no location information. Now the device is able to do most basic things and not experiencing any reboots. However as soon as I start web surfing it's just a matter of minutes before the whole tablet crashes. What web browser do you think (or know) will provide the most stable experience for the xoom 2?
I have been able to get into the internet without any problem, but I find that I can only type the domain (www.....) - it does not let me type any other information. So I cannot write things, post or access mail, for example, because that requires you to actually type things. All this browser lets me do is hover over the box where you type things in, but not actually type anything on it.
When I open my browser it keeps freezing, and if I press the Blackberry button to open the menu screen, it won't work. All I can use is the "back" button. I can't close the browser down completely, select, copy, anything at all.
I just got a replacement 8900 from AT&T cause mine wouldn't let me upgrade to the 5.0 OS so I got a new one to see if it was my phone or just 8900's from at&t in general.
I had my old phone backed up, i just restored it and am now uploading apps and such.
But it's my browser that isn't what it should be..
on my old 8900 on the browser config, i had 3 options.. media net, hot spot and internet browser. and the IB is what i kept it on. but the new 8900 only has an option for hot spot and media net, and i don't want to use either of those :s
so, does anyone know how i could fix it and get my IB back?
I bought a Sprint 8330 from a guy on Craigslist, and it worked fine until my girlfriend freaking wiped my phone trying to guess my password. So I got on crackberry and followed the instructions from Lecture 12 of the BB 101 and got it up and running again. Or so I thought.. Now, I have no browser icon whatsoever, and all of my MMS options are gone. I believe the phone had OS4.3 before because now all of my home screen stuff looks different along with my inbox. I just wanna have my MMS and Internet back. Should I go back to 4.3? Or is this something really easy that I just don't know because I'm a first time BB user? Help pls?
Also! I had the phone flashed over to work with Cricket Mobile. I doubt that has anything to do with it though considering my MMS and internet still worked then.
I'm having trouble with my internet. i can use my WAP browser but i do not see my regular internet browser, not even in the options menu. also my bbm does not work. i cannot send or receive bbms. i can send out emails but not receive them. my apps that connect to the internet will not work, ie berryweather, facebook, appworld. i get a message about contacting my provider and upgrading to a service plan that allows me to browse. all this just happened all of a sudden on this phone. i've tried reloading the OS back to the original .167, and numerous battery pulls. nothing seems to work. is there an outage or something? even my wifi wont connect to my internet at home. it says connected but its greyed out.
