I am using an atrix 4g and lapdock, and whenever I use the lapdocks firefox browser/facebook shortcut the browser allways reverts to the "m" site rather then the full one. This happens using wifi or the phone connection.
View 1 RepliesWhen I first got my lapdock I was very surprised when I first started using Firefox. It was just like what I was use to on my laptop. I hardly even missed my laptop. When I got upgraded to ICS on my Razr MAXX I just absolutely love Webtop 3.0.My problem starts there. Although I love Webtop, I hate the browsers for surfing the web. The closest browser that I could find to fill my needs on 3.0 is Chrome Beta. Now, while Chrome is a great browser, it doesn't have all the features of Firefox. I so miss Firefox.Does anyone have any suggestions that might me in my quest to find a browser that is closer to what Firefox was on Webtop 2.0?So far I have tried Dolphin, Skyfire, Firefox, Opera and the default Browser. I have been disappointed with all of them in one way or another. Like I said earlier, Chrome Beta has been the best so far.

Or did Motorola break Linux in a way to make typing accent marks impossible?
I had an issue yesterday when using the WebTop. Firefox became completely unresponsive when browsing this forum. I was able to close the app by clicking the X at the top right. WebTop continued to work, and if i loaded a link defined as a web app it worked, but if i tried to load Firefox or a link defined as a bookmark i got an error message indicating the Firefox was already running and had to be closed.
It occurred to me that there was no WebTop task manager that I could use to Force Close a process. I tried a few things including force closing the WebTop connector in Mobile View but nothing worked. I ultimately had to reboot the phone to get it operational again.
When your typing on the laptop dock 100 using the Photon it often reverts back to other parts of your sentence. Which my cause you to start typing anywhere in sentense. For instance if your typing the the Sentence ( I really like my laptop dock but) while your about to type a word after your last in may revert back to maybe like and continue your typing. Which messes up everything. It does it often. I returned one laptop dock and received another one but it still doing the same think. There doesn't seem to be nothing in setting on phone or dock that I see could help with this.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHardware is only as good as its software. It would seem many of the issues I'm having with my lapdock browser would be cured if it was running the latest versions of flash or if the browser itself was current.
I know Matt stated in the rumors section that ICS is moving along and should be out whenever they can get it ready, so here is my question. Will the lapdock browser be updated in that upgrade?(isn't that seperate from the operating system?)
Will the Flash be updated for the lapdock as well? (it's packaged in the browser isn't it?) Lastly, not entirely unrelated...
why not have a lapdock market place for apps? (i hate loading an app and finding it only runs on the phone dashboard)
I purchased my Lapdock 100 from a Verizon store yesterday, although I have an Atrix 2 through AT&T. When I tried it for the first time at home last night everything worked great but my phone was using the wifi connection. Today at work I try it over a cellular connection and the Firefox browser does not get internet, but the phone browser and any other phone based internet apps do while connected to the lapdock screen. For example I can maximize the phone's browser on the laptop screen and access the internet, but it is not optimal visually, I would much rather have the Firefox browser and other webtop apps working.
Is there something cell provider specific that is blocking the cellular data because I bought the lapdock from Verizon but use AT&T?
I searched for an answer but couldn't find one. I prefer docs to go over quickoffice but firefox in webtop mode never asks but open docs in quickoffice in phone window.Is there a way to default to docs to go in webtop mode? BTW, is there a way to open docs to go in webtop mode

View 8 Replies View RelatedI cannot find a way to get an Android app that runs successfully on my Atrix to display anywhere on the LapDock screen - except in the small "Mobile View" window. One reason for buying the LapDock was to run apps with more screen real-estate. The AT&T store guy assured me the phone+lapdock combo could do that, pointing to the browser and the file manager.
If they cannot do that - or the APIs to allow that are "unavailable", that is an overwhelmingly disappointing product restriction.
no where on Moto's site, AT&T's site, or anywhere else can I find the actual pixel count of the display.I'm trying to encode movies that will play well at full screen in Entertainment center but I need to know the max. width before I can do it.Why would this spec not be readily available on Moto's page?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently bought the Webtop travel adapter for use with my VZW Droid RAZR and 1080p TV. I have a probelm with the Status Bar atop the display. About once per second it will disappear and then a second later reappear. If a window is maximized, it will be resized back/forth. It is truly annoying. It is happening with multiple TV's so it's not an HDMI issue. During the time the Status Bar is visible, nothing within it is clickable. I am speculating that it is loading then crashing then loading again but never fully initalizes to where anything is clickable and the service is caught in a restart loop.
Fireforx and the mobile view both work just fine on their own so long as they don't cross into the status bar area and their windows will get bumped up/down as it appears/disappears. I had considered a lapdock but can't justify the money, especially if it doesn't work properly. I'll try using aLogcat to see if I can glean anything form it and ship some logs off to Moto support.
How do I get the latest Citrix Receiver installed on my webtop? I have updated the citrix receiver on the phone via the market and it works fine with our corporate Citrix server. But the webtop appears to be a different install of the receiver and it does not work with our Citrix servers. When starting the application the receiver modal appears the windows start song plays then it just goes away.

Every time I try to go to a full site, it displays a loading bar and after that it just shows a blank screen. Even when I try to search on google, the result page is always blank. View 5 Replies View Related1. When connected directly to HDMI port (using any of the modes ..ie. mirror, gallery..) if I unplug it, the screen will not time out.
If I go into the settings and switch to another time length..back out to Home and then switch it back to my original timeout setting and backout to Home..The screen will time out properly.
2. If connected to the Webtop Adapter and I'm in Webtop mode and just unplug the adapter, the screen will not timeout. My above fix does not work either...BUT..
If I go from WebTop mode to say, Mirror Mode and then Unplug the adapter..and then apply my fix above..the screen will time out.
I wanted to verify this was another part of the disabled functionality of Webtop 3.0 vs. 2.0. In 2.0 there was a Settings button for the lapdock that allowed the touchpad's sensitivity to be adjusted. In Webtop 3.0 the only settings adjustment I can find takes me to the phone's Settings which has no category allowing for touchpad sensitivity adjustment. A quick chat with a Motorola "support" person online here suggested there was no longer such an adjustment available, and that they didn't work for Motorola, but would "pass my comment along" to them.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen connecting my Atrix 4G to my lapdock, (which I just received today), I get the picker on my phone, which indicates that only HDMI is being seen by the dock, and no USB. I have no aftermarket cover on my phone, have tried removing the Motorola battery cover from the phone and fit plate from the lapdock to get a better USB connection, but just can't get a USB connection, or so it seems. I know when I plug the phone in and open the lapdock it should just go right to Webtop, but I get the red M screensaver till I select an option on the phone. The when I select Webtop I get the touchpad on the phone which works. Also get no audio from the lapdock speakers if I play music, but when I unplug the phone the music starts playing from the phone speaker. One time out of many, maybe 50+ now, I saw a USB devices detected message on the lapdock screen, but only the one time.

Motorola's support site still has NO support documents for Webtop 3.0. The support site still has all documentation for 2.0 - describing how to use Firefox, file manager, etc - all the functionality that I lost. WHY is there not even any support for 3.0?

Out on stories my photographer records video on a sd card. I plug the sd card into the usb port in the lapdock. No problem there. I can watch the video she shot. The problem is I need to write the verbatim of what people say in interviews and I need my email screen up at the same time I am watching the video she shot and the lapdock with the new ice cream sandwhich upgrade wont allow me to look at video in one screen and then minimize it or make it small and then bring up my email so I can listen or watch video and also write what the people are saying at the same time...
