I also have a Galaxy Tab, and when I try to download an app to my phone, the screen tells me it is compatible with my Tablet - no mention of the phone. On the 'download to' screen, it has only got my Tablet listed and, sure enough, when I download it goes to my Tablet.

Jan 30, 2013I have 2 e-mail accounts; mail drops into each as it should. When I open my e-mail on my PC, mail drops into my accounts (Outlook) and is deleted from the server. At that point the e-mails are also still on my phone. However when I next switch from one account to the other on the phone, all e-mails are deleted from both accounts on the phone.This was never a problem with my HTC Wildfire, when I would delete mail on the phone manually, which is what I want to do now.

Apr 15, 2012The is another "feature" of the SG-II's built-in email app that infuriates me regularly:Each time when the mail app reloads emails from the server, it deletes all previous mails from the inbox (be they read or unread). Thus, if one accidentally triggers two reload/refreshes in sequence (or has automatic mail downloads enabled) this causes the unread mails from (an) earlier refresh(es) to be silently deleted and to "disappear", before one has a chance to read them! This happened already a couple of times to me and this is really insane

Feb 23, 2012my application (A.S.W.) on the android market has gotten several recent comments that it does not work on the Samsung Galaxy S2. I have been looking for an error in the application, have created an AVD using the S2 spec, but cannot recreate the error. Google Statistics tell me that there are 40+ users with the S2, however, I have gotten no crash/freeze reports from those users. Jun 27, 2012I have an Sii gt-i9100g running ICS 4.03 (non-rooted). Recently I've been getting an error when applications try to update: "Application cannot be installed in the default install location".
So I checked my phone storage.
phone memory: 1.97Gb
Applications: 647mb
Free: 247mb
USB storage has about 10.5Gb available.
I uninstalled a few applications I didn't need on a regular basis and then the phone was able to update the installed applications successfully. I went in to application management and there's no option to move the installed applications to USB storage (I don't have an external SD card). So this raises a few concerns:
1: How come there's a mystery 1.1 gigabytes that isn't accounted for in the phone storage? I thought all of Android ICS was stored in that missing 4GB of USB storage memory...
2: If the phone doesn't allow further installations to phone memory when there's only about 200mb available, and if the phone has reserved 1.1 gigabytes for some hidden purpose, then is it true that without buying an SD card, we only really have about 700MB available for applications?!
3: Why isn't the option to move applications to USB storage available under ICS? I believe this was available in Gingerbread.
I'm new to the SII, but if its the case that this supposedly 16GB device only truly has 700MB available for apps without an External SD card, then I'm gonna be pretty angry.

Jul 22, 2010I was just wondering if anybody else knew about the following or if it is wrong and may harm my phone. I went onto the playnow site on my phone via internet search. Whilst on it I scrolled down the bottom of the screen and clicked free stuff and lots more stuff came up available than when I go on playnow on my laptop. I downloaded a few and they all seem to work although they pop up with a strange type of keypad thing under neath the application when its open.
I then went back onto the play now site. I was on and was looking about when I noticed it had a bit that said : country - uk your phone - w880i. I didn't put this in it was already there. Mine is the Vivaz handset and yet the applications seem to work ok under the w880i phone. Should it not be compatible? should I remove the apps I downloaded this way of my phone to prevent a problem etc? I am so confused at the moment as to whether it is safe etc. for my phone. As I didn't expect it to happen. I always thought when you go onto a site like play now it would know what phone is being used.
