May 1, 2010I TRIED updating my nokia 5230 by using OVI suite and during update my nokia 5230 suddenly turned off and updating stopped. I disconnected usb cable and tried to turn on the set but it wont turn on. I tried to recharge it and restart it but it also didnt work. Now its still off and I don`t know what to do anymore.

Feb 18, 2010I'd really be grateful to you if could help me out with this. I have got a locked Nokia N91. I went to a local mobile repair shop which claims to unlock branded phone. While it was being unlocked, the phone got some error for some unknown reason and now whenever I start my phone, all it says is ' phone start-up failed, contact the retailer' the repairer says the phone's IMEI is damaged which I have confirmed from various repair shops and would need some RPL file (which I haven't got any idea about) and since Nokia servers are down its not possible right now, he tells me to wait for a bit before the servers are up on the run again. I have no idea if its even true. All I want to know is Can My Phone really be Repaired? And if Yes whats the Criteria for doing so? And if i take my phone to Nokia repair shop. I am afraid they would not fix it since they haven't got a license to unlock branded phones.

Jul 17, 2012I got notification from PC Companion that ICS 4.1.b.0.431 update is available for my neo v (4.0.4). I started updating it. Since it said that personal data will not be hampered, I did not create backup of contacts, sms etc. After downloading, I got message for updating failure. Now the phone is not turning on, showing "Sony " and then exclamation mark and turning off. I have a choice to repair the phone but I'm fearing of loosing my personal data.

Jun 21, 2011This is my second Atrix. It is failing to turn on its' Bluetooth radio. I go to Settings > Wireless & Networks > Bluetooth (and Bluetooth Settings) and try to turn Bluetooth on. It indicates that it's turning on Bluetooth and then it fails, returning to the "Turn on bluetooth" message. I've rebooted, done a battery pull, tried to turn it on from Airplane mode...everything short of a factory reset (because I really really really don't want to set this thing up from scratch again!).

Nokia :: Phone Screen Not Turning On
May 19, 2010I tried switching on the new nokia X6 that I received today. I get a vibration alert and the red-green button illuminates but the screen is blank! I do hear the Nokia booting sound coming through but the screen is blank. I have been charging for the last 1 hour but I still see no response? Why is this happening? Do I wait longer for it to charge? Pointers please.

Sep 5, 2010My w595 turned itself off and is now turning on and off whenever I try to turn it on. The buttons light up and the phone vibrates every couple of seconds but cannot get past the logo screen. If I can get my phone to sync with my computer in 'phone mode' the repair setting in PC suite may fix this problem but I can only connect in 'Mass Storage' mode. Can I update the phone in any other way?

Jul 5, 2012The iTunes data on the computer my iPhone was firstly connected and configurated with has been deleted. I was looking for an opportunity to update my iPhone to the newest iOS software (since it was on 5.0) without erasing all the data saved on my mobile. But that time I did not know that all data will be erased when upgrading a device a complete version (like from 3.0 to 4.0 or 4.0 to 5.0) and then it happened. Several hundred business contacts of mine has been erased and cannot be reset. All functions except the phone/message contacts are unimportant now. MOST IMPORTANT: I connected my iPhone with a new MacBook, updated iTunes to 10.6.3 (current version) and synced my mobile with it. Data will be erased if updating on an unknown computer (for iOS device) where no data which are on my iPhone are saved. Unfortunately, the instructions at iTunes Support were helpless because during the important backup for resetting all datas has been interrupted with the following window: Backup not possible , There are not enough space on the iPhone left to finish the backup.
It has never continued and since then all data has been erased. I would be incredibly glad if anybody could give me at least a tip to do something.

Apr 19, 2010I did a firmwire update to 400.21.013 along with a password protected Memory card inside my E63.I forgot the password long back,but i could use it, so no problems.However, when i tried to restore the backup file which i made before the update,Vista shows BSOD error in between and restarts.And now when i start the phone,the above error appears on the screen.

Jul 24, 2010Got the phone in trade, so no warranty...Phone works perfectly fine before any of this happens. Basically got the nokia software, updated ect. Go to update the firmware and do what the instructions says. It downloads the firmware and starts to install...halfway through says cable disconnected. Clearly it is not, but i do what the instructions says to reconnect it. It tells me to disconnect, take out batter, reinsert usb then battery and then hit retry. Works, but same problem, halfway thought it "disconnects". After trying this about 5 times i give up. I hit cancel. Now the phone is dead, nothing, can't hard reset, can't turn on. NOTHING.Currently have the phone without battery as someone online (googled) had similar situation and he left the phone for 6hours and it magically worked again...i don't think it will work but i have to try...

Jun 18, 2010I'm currently using firmware V 40.0.005 and trying to update to the newest version.I run the update in the Ovi suite and all goes as it should but when my phone restarts it still runs V. 4 instead of the new one.I've also tried updating through my phone but get a message saying that the server is not responding.On another matter, I try to update Ovi maps to V3.4 and it fails every time, I've tried downloading it to my PC and updating it through Ovi suite and my phone comes up with a message saying that the installer is already running.If anyone would be able to help me with this or point me in the right direction it would be GREATLY appreciated, I've only just got my phone back after it needed repairing due to a fault and now this has gone wrong.

Jan 11, 2012My mobile is a Nokia N8. I recently updated Phone Apps, I'm not very technical so I followed all prompts asked of me. It advised to restart my phone which I did. When the phone restarted, I lost 3months worth of pictures, my profiles (general, silent etc) were reset but still had messages in my inbox, and god knows what else I haven't noticed yet.I must note also that I received text messages from O2, my service provider. They said, message 1 "you'll receive settings for our phone to allow you to easily access O2's great services". Message 2 "Select Save from Options to configure all settings". I followed these messages. I contacted O2 who advised it was nothing to do with them!!! Not one bit helpful either.
