Received a message the other day saying there was an important update to download via the pc software updater.
Installed the new version of software updater, plugged my phone in via usb in pc suite mode and surprise surprise it doesnt find the phone.Am i the only one that thinks that the nokia software is just so painfully terrible?
The only thing it would let me do is restore. I sync automatically, will I be able to restore my contacts and other data?

I TRIED updating my nokia 5230 by using OVI suite and during update my nokia 5230 suddenly turned off and updating stopped. I disconnected usb cable and tried to turn on the set but it wont turn on. I tried to recharge it and restart it but it also didnt work. Now its still off and I don`t know what to do anymore.

I tried to turn on the phone but PROBLEM was same!RESTARTING constantly.Please does anybody know, how to fix this PROBLEM and is it maybe a factory error?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI can not connect my N86 to pc via USB cable, I'm using Widows XP SP3, and Original USB cable comes with the package, Last version of PC Suite, Nokia connectivity cable driver, Nokia Pc Suite Cleaner, all downloaded from Nokia. When I connect it to pc, it starts to be charged but it doesn't be recognized by Pc Suite. I restarted pc and phone both and even reinstalled the program using PC Suite Cleaner several times but no success! I even reset the phone to Factory default and used different pc (with windows XP & 7) but still the same problem! I don't think it's security locked because I didn't change the setup.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using Windows Vista, and am using Suite version 7.1.40.1 and connect my phone (a Nokia 6600 Slide) with a USB cable.The problem I'm having is that when I view my messages on my computer, it doesn't recognise a majority of the messages from my favourite contact, whether the messages are in a folder in the "saved items" section, or in the inbox itself.It's very frustrating because I want to save the messages onto my computer, but I can't save them if the PC Suite isn't recognising them. How can I make it recognise the messages it seems to be missing out?

This happens at reandom points through the day and i have to switch it on and off several times to get it to register that the sim is there. As it happens randomly there is no garuntee that the phone is working as a phone and making it pointless to actually use it as a phone. Also since the latest update there has been no improvement in my battery life whatsoever
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have installed Nokia OVI Suite version 2.2.0.245 and attempted to sync my Nokia 5800 XpressMusic device but I'm having various problems getting the OVI Suite to recognize my device. For the most part, when the program will come up with a message saying "Please change the USB mode on your device to OVI Suite (or PC Suite) USB Mode". Now, I'm already in PC Suite mode but I still disconnect the USB cable and connect it again, selecting the PC Suite mode again on my device. This does not change anything as I still get the same error message. When I don't get this error message, and I try to sync my messages (for example), the application crashes. I'm running windows Vista SP2, and my Nokia 5800 has the latest firmware installed V 31.2.101 (installed today July 7th, 2010) I don't know if this is a known issue and anybody knows how to fix it. if not, I hope the folks at Nokia take note and consider this issue.

-Connect with USB cable to check if i can update software, but my pc not recognize the device.
-Used the reset codes, nothing happened
I don't have memory card inside.the mobile phone cannot start, and i dont know what to do.any ideas/support?
I have a nokia 6210 navigator and I can't get it to connect to my PC by the USB cable. It worked fine about a week ago and now it won't connect. I have updated the software and it still won't connect, when I plug the lead in to the phone it says "USB connected in PC suite but the PC suite dose not recognise the phone. When I try to connect within the PC suite it still doesn't find the phone.

When I rebooted my PC (xp sp3) and launched again Ovi suite I had no problems but now Ovi can't see my N82, while PC and phone are connected! One time I somehow got Ovi to see N82 but I had to add it as a new device, even if I already did before.

I have a Nokia 500 with Belle installed (vers: 111.021.0028) and Nokia Suite vers 3.6.36.On the 17.12.2012 I've installed the latest version of Romania maps: 00.02.47.103 and since then I get the same error message 'car navigation cannot start at this location'. I can access the maps, I get the correct position but the problem occurs when I try to navigate to any address. It doesn't seem to have an actual issue with the location because I've tried several locations in Bucharest and got the same error.

View 5 Replies View Relatedafter i had updated my n97. most problems temporarily went away for about 1-2 weeks. now my phone cannot answer calls. cannot play music through the loud speaker. alarm does not work. basically anything that has to do with sound does not work. it shows that my phone has headphones connected but there is none connected. i formated the phone, did a hard reset, re installed the latest software and still the problem continues. after having nokias for the past 10 years. i am happy to say that i will never purchase another nokia again. nokiaz flagship phone has drove most of thier loyal customers away. the n97 is one of the worst phones ive ever had with respect to software

View 10 Replies View RelatedI finally updated my E72-1 to 031.023. On the earlier version, I could not use my Mail for Exchange with my work e-mail (i.e. work server etc). it just didn't do anything after setup. In previous posts, people said after the update, it should work fine well, it doesn't. Its the same problem: After setup (with my IT guy) the MfE just doesn't load any messages. It just keeps on saying "No Messages". I have tried everything. So I have three questions:
1) When setting up the MfE, is there anything else I need to do i.e. register my work e-mail somewhere (which I did I think) or something?
2) The acces point Background: when set to "internet" it just doesn't work. It always says "Packet data not available" or "Connection not Available". The 'Internet' acces point "points" to the correct packet data set. When using the packet data set "manually", internet connects and works. Why is this so? Why can't I use my "internet" access point for connecting to the internet?
3)My third question is: For MfE, the access point is set to Internet. Could this be a problem? The only options I have is Internet, WAP services and Intranet. None of them "work".
The phone was working fine 1.5 days with moderate use .. suddenly it only lasts 6 hours ( stand by) while iam sleeping.. it had more than 70% battery and after 6 hours its empty !! how do i fix that ? without installing 100 programs to reflash the stupid phone
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have had a problem with the email not updating properly.It only seems to pull in the emails when I connect to the internet. When I first connect, I get a the email messages coming through. If I stay connected, I don't get anymore emails.It used to always alert me when I got a new email, but now nothing happens. I have checked the settings and it says that it should automatically update every 5 mins. Even if I press send/recieve and I know I have an email that should be there, nothing shows.
View 19 Replies View RelatedI've got a 5800xm on T-mobile in the UK which had software version 21.0.025. Checked for updates on the phone and had the 'no updates available' message. Went onto Ovi Suite, did a backup of my phone, then updated the software to version 31.0.101 which should be compatable with Ovi/Nokia maps 3.3 (with FREE navigation). After several attempt to download and install the new map software (through Ovi store on the handset, Ovi.com, and Ovi Suite) I finally managed to get the 'installation complete' message
I don't get the dashboard when I first start Ovi maps each time, which is supposed to show that it is indeed the new version that you're running. Now when I start to plan a route, I get the first turn voice command, then my phone shows 'updating' then proceeds to ask me for money! If I go into options - about (on maps), I'm supposedly running v31.01 09wk26. If I go into settings - application manager - installed application, Ovi maps shows version 3.03(246) being installed. Tonight I connected the 5800 to my PC to download some maps using maploader, and Ovi Suite came up with an option to install Maps v3
My PC and phone are paired via Bluetooth (I can see the phone in the device section on Win 7). However, when trying to connect via BT in Ovi suite I get the message "Device not found". I have tried reinstalling Ovi Suite, updating Ovi Suite to the last version, unpairing the phone and PC... Windows 7 has no trouble finding and pairing it but Ovi Suite just doesn't find it....
