I have a nokia 6210 navigator and I can't get it to connect to my PC by the USB cable. It worked fine about a week ago and now it won't connect. I have updated the software and it still won't connect, when I plug the lead in to the phone it says "USB connected in PC suite but the PC suite dose not recognise the phone. When I try to connect within the PC suite it still doesn't find the phone.

The phone loses signal while I'm on the internet, etc. Does anyone know where I can get a change log for the Nokia Firmwares? I'm currently using v05.501 & I'm still experiencing the problems. Nokia Maps v3 doesn't want to install either?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm the rather disgruntled owner of a Nokia 6210 Navigator and have recently learnt about the free navigation offered by Ovi Maps for selected phones. I contacted Nokia's Careline in Australia only to find they were not even aware that it was possible to get a free navigation version, and point blank argued with me until I provided them a link to show otherwise. As per norm, Nokia fails to provide good customer service, however having read the forums somewhat, I am hopeful that the moderators here might be my salvation.
I'm wondering if there is a list of phones that the free navigation may be added to? I'm also on a 3 mobile (Orange in the UK I think) with vendor specific firmware, if this isn't up to par, is there anything I can do? Are there any work arounds to enable support for my 6210 Navigator? Having been a nokia user for the past 10 years, I have been very frustrated by the lack of support provided customers, if I may; Moderators - convince me to stay with Nokia.

Ovi Suite and Pc Suite doesn't offer me any update. I'm desesperate (I've past a few days looking in google without solutions (for example changing the date of the phone, or configurate the application manager (all, no control online of the certificates,...) Nothing nothing... I'm thinking about flashing it with an updated software, ultimate action of a desperate man. it's strange that a mobile "updated" can't install a program from Ovi Suite.
I went to Download page http://europe.nokia.com/support/download-software/mail-for-exchange/compatibility-and-download#60 and there Nokia says me that my 6210 Navigator is "Certified Device" and offers me version MailForExchange(2.9.158)_S60_3_1.sisx.
But, when I try to confirm installation on the cell, I get a "The Mail Exchange software you are trying to install is not compatible with the device" and then sends me back to look at the same web page I downloaded from.
I`ve tried to upgrade my Nokia 6210 Navigator from Nokia maps 2.0 to Ovi maps 3.01 but it. Doesn’t seems to work. If i try to upgrade it with the old Nokia map updater it just says: Cannot get enough information about the phone unspecified error. Can anyone tell me if this is possible? I also get a error message when i try to use this file that ovikovi posted (http://static.s2g.gate5.de/nokiamaps client/nokia_ maps_3.01_09wk44_b01_s60_3.1_lm_rom.sis). The error message that shows up in the phone is: It doesn’t work to install this file, the unit is built in! And in Ovi Suite it says: The file is in use. Another application is using nokia_ maps_3.01_09wk44_b01_s60_3.1_lm_rom.sis /I´ve also tried to uninstall the version og Nokia maps that is installed on the phone but that doesn’t seems to be an option ! Any one who has a clue of something that can solve my problem?

And one day later, it turned off itself and now I can't turn it on. When I press the turn on button, screen's light are ok,but there are no Nokia logo etc. 3-4 seconds later it turns off automatically.

When I rebooted my PC (xp sp3) and launched again Ovi suite I had no problems but now Ovi can't see my N82, while PC and phone are connected! One time I somehow got Ovi to see N82 but I had to add it as a new device, even if I already did before.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI can not connect my N86 to pc via USB cable, I'm using Widows XP SP3, and Original USB cable comes with the package, Last version of PC Suite, Nokia connectivity cable driver, Nokia Pc Suite Cleaner, all downloaded from Nokia. When I connect it to pc, it starts to be charged but it doesn't be recognized by Pc Suite. I restarted pc and phone both and even reinstalled the program using PC Suite Cleaner several times but no success! I even reset the phone to Factory default and used different pc (with windows XP & 7) but still the same problem! I don't think it's security locked because I didn't change the setup.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using Windows Vista, and am using Suite version 7.1.40.1 and connect my phone (a Nokia 6600 Slide) with a USB cable.The problem I'm having is that when I view my messages on my computer, it doesn't recognise a majority of the messages from my favourite contact, whether the messages are in a folder in the "saved items" section, or in the inbox itself.It's very frustrating because I want to save the messages onto my computer, but I can't save them if the PC Suite isn't recognising them. How can I make it recognise the messages it seems to be missing out?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have installed Nokia OVI Suite version 2.2.0.245 and attempted to sync my Nokia 5800 XpressMusic device but I'm having various problems getting the OVI Suite to recognize my device. For the most part, when the program will come up with a message saying "Please change the USB mode on your device to OVI Suite (or PC Suite) USB Mode". Now, I'm already in PC Suite mode but I still disconnect the USB cable and connect it again, selecting the PC Suite mode again on my device. This does not change anything as I still get the same error message. When I don't get this error message, and I try to sync my messages (for example), the application crashes. I'm running windows Vista SP2, and my Nokia 5800 has the latest firmware installed V 31.2.101 (installed today July 7th, 2010) I don't know if this is a known issue and anybody knows how to fix it. if not, I hope the folks at Nokia take note and consider this issue.

I used the Ovi suite to install the free maps on my E72 which work great but the software itself is very poorly written, too many bugs and problems so i would like to uninstall it and use the PC suite instead. can I now update my phone using the PC suite with it's updater software or do I have to now rely on the Ovi suite.
The reason I ask instead of having two pieces of software is i want to a Vista/XP (two machines) clean install followed by a Ghost DVD so the smaller image the better (plus i dont like to have **bleep** installed on my machine:-)
I got this phone 3 months ago, and it paired with PC Suite perfectly, till few days ago, when i lost connection with it, and now PC Suite and OVI Suite can't find my phone. I checked bluetooth device that im using, and made sure that phone bluetooth is on. In Attachment is shown how PC Suite and Bluetooth react when i try to reconnect the phone.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI just bought a Volvo V50 with an installed car kit by the previous owner (presumable around mid 2007 if relevant). As my Nokia 6210 just broke, I'd like to replace it by a phone that best fits with the carkit. THe kit seems to be the CK-7W as is have the remote button as with the CK-7W. The phone holder is the CR56. What confuses me is that there is a fixed (standard) cable connection at the bottom of the phoneholder and also a separate micro USB now hanging just out of the dashboard, near the left side of the phone holder. As if it should be connected to the Nokia phone on the left side. With the kit there is a wired microphone and an external loudspeaker.

My phone is completely working and a SIM card is inserted in it and I can call with it, but when I want to install the update then it says that there is no SIM card. View 6 Replies View RelatedAll I've purchased an E72 about 2 weeks ago and am still using it in 'trial' mode using my second line. I have the following problems. Can someone assist please:
1. On the E72 phone one can edit the Contacts field titles (eg change the "Postal/Zip" field to "Postcode", or add fields like "Mobile 2". However using the PC Suite on the PC, none of these changes show up. Eg, I added a "Title" prefix on the phone but it doesn't show upon the PC.
2. The Contacts fileds seem not to be 'smart' enough, ie if one edits/changes the fields on the phone, then on the PC Suite it gets tabulated in the wrong column. So, editing the filed titles is really pointless, infact it is counter productive!
3. To search CONTACTS, only the First Name, Last Name and Company fields are searchable. Other fields like Phone No, City, etc cannot be the basis of a search. True?
4. The long-press "Contacts" key does not go to the "New Contact". It works for other functions, but not New Contact. Anyone know how to resolve this ?
5. For Calendar entries, a few fours AFTER the alarm time set, I get a pop-up message saying something like .... some alarm events were passed due to "time change". What time change is it talking about? Weird thing is I then miss the appointment. so what use is this calendar thing?
6. The application shortcuts on the standby screen (those little icon shortcuts) ... is it possible to have more, say on 2 lines?
7. The E72 seems to be only able to keep call logs for a max of 30 days? Anyway to increase that? similarly, can I keep SMSs for longer periods?
My Palm Treo 600 (used since 2003), was able to do all the above things ... but 6 years later, Nokia's "for the serious business user" phone cannot do most of the simple things a smartphone should be able to do.
I like the phone, especially its slim form factor and all the other bells & whistles (video, movies, music works well) but I DO WANT a phone that can integrate with my PC.There ought to be laws out there on the use of the term 'smartphone'
I have just bought Nokia N86 8MP. I have installed OVI Suit on my laptop. But I amd not able to configure my phone with OVI suite.After connecting my cell with my laptop I select PC Suit USB Mode from my cell phone. On the second step (Connect Device) of OVI Suite configuration the name of my phone is visible but when I select, A popup message is displayed that This device is not in PC Suite USB mode. And the 'Next' button is greyed out.
