I've been looking at buying one because i hate not being able to transfer pictures etc over to the computer easily.But i cannot find where the cable is meant to plug into my phone ? Only the micro sd card is the only place. Or do i need to get a card reader for the micro sd card?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just picked up an LG GS170 phone (low-end flip-phone) with T-Mobile. I was able to use a micro-USB cable and Windows device driver I found from LG so my computer would recognize the phone in the device manager. But I can't do anything with it--no mounted "drive" and I haven't been able to find any Software (LG or third-party) that recognizes the phone (upload/download/edit address book; upload ringtones or wallpapers). I could do that with my old Motorola V195 phone. I have found some website that claim to have "apps" for the GS170 phone (wallpapers, small programs -- jar or zip files) but I can't do anything with them since I don't now how to upload them to the phone.Any ideas for "mounting" the phone, or programs that will talk to it at least for things such as backing up the address book?

Yes I set the setting in memory to "Prompt" But I dont get the prompt? I have to use a card reader to remove/add stuff now. Its kind of annoying. Instead of just plugging in the USB and click and dragging stuff.Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

The process of inserting the Data Cable is quite straight forward, the phone presents a menu of options "PC Suite..." which I promptly cancel. I then get a message "Charging", and about 15 seconds later I get a message about disconnecting the charger?
The battery/ phone are now in power save mode ie battery almost completely drained - right. So, why will it not charge through the data cable - it refuses. I have searched on the interweb, but seen to be the only one with this problem. The Nokia E72 manual mentions that charing is possible through the use of the Data Cable. I am directly connected to the computer (MacBook Pro 2009 Model). Mac OSX correctly detects the Nokia E72. Do I have to be in Windows XP?
