I bought my new 5230 online from Vodafone a week ago. I wasn't aware there wouldn't be a data cable! Vodafone don't sell them online and as I haven't full mobility, it's hard for me to source one. My husband bought a micro usb data cable for me, but it was too big for my phone. There is no specific information about which data cable I need (is the a code for this cable?) in the handbook that came with the phone.
View 4 RepliesI have a CK-100 car kit and trying to find a replacement/upgrade charge cable (CA-134) with a USB micro B connector instead of the 2mm that is fitted. The user/installation guide mentions that an alternative USB cable may be supplied but all searches have failed to find one. The alternative is to make up a cable RJ45 at the CK end, I can buzz it out but does anyone have the pin out for the RJ45? I've tried the CA-146 adapter and to be honest it's naff - it runs hot and the output is reduced to the point that whilst running my satnav app the phone will discharge faster than it can be charged, I've also tried the adapter on a standard car charger with the same results.

My phone is completely working and a SIM card is inserted in it and I can call with it, but when I want to install the update then it says that there is no SIM card. I have tried ejecting the SIM card and inserting it again but it didn't work. Do you know anything that would help?And also somewhy I'm unable to install anything into the phone by USB cable.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI switched from a 9000 to a 9700 so I bought mini to micro adapters to use on my car charger and my USB cable so that I wouldn't have to buy a bunch of new chargers.
When I plug my USB cable into my Belkin power block or cigarette adapter it won't charge, but if I plug in my wall charger or plug the cable into my USB port on my computer, it will charge my 9700. Both the power block and the cigarette adapter will charge my iPod, so I know it isn't the power block.
Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently got my Nokia E72, and am trying out the USB Data Cable Charging "feature" - it just does not work for me. I wonder if am doing something wrong? The process of inserting the Data Cable is quite straight forward, the phone presents a menu of options "PC Suite..." which I promptly cancel. I then get a message "Charging", and about 15 seconds later I get a message about disconnecting the charger?
The battery/ phone are now in power save mode ie battery almost completely drained - right. So, why will it not charge through the data cable - it refuses. I have searched on the interweb, but seen to be the only one with this problem. The Nokia E72 manual mentions that charing is possible through the use of the Data Cable. I am directly connected to the computer (MacBook Pro 2009 Model). Mac OSX correctly detects the Nokia E72. Do I have to be in Windows XP?
the model number for longer data cable that works on E72? The one supplied is very short.

In Position methods have turned off Network based but there is still an option called Assisted GPS “it wont work with this turned off” what is it does anyone know? I started a route and after stopping it, I checked the "Log' and I can see more data send and received recorded. I do not have a data plan and would like to know if I am incurring charges in this case. I have a-gps and gps set, so I'm guessing these packets might be due to a-gps? Without a-gps and with gps alone the performance will be pretty bad, right? I have t-mobo and nokia 5230.
